JOJO was a close friend of mine she told me about the dream she had the night before the plane crashed that killed most her band She said God showed her the plane crashed and them dying in the crash She said she called the band and told them about the dream and said she wasnt getting on it she been warned by God She said got saved her for a reason and she gave her life to God after and became a Rev and preached and sang for God Because God gave her another chance she saved my life with her music and her preaching to me She said she stood on that stage many nights drunk and high singing to 1ks of people she said she wasnt right with God at the time but after the crash it CHANGED HER she gave her life to God and then sang for God I have her last cd i not been able to find it She sent it to me and my mom and signed the cover in her name and the cd is signed Rv i know she didnt give out many of the cds i still not found all the songs on it

What I found interesting about this interview was her statement about the inner voice that said wait, don't join the band at Greenville. In the last week of August 2001, I was in management of a large Georgia-based company and had been asked to travel. It was a two-day trip and my return date to Atlanta would have been Sept 11th. I remember getting out of bed on or about the 5th of Sept and a heavy feeling came over me. I asked my boss one of the company VPs if he would go in my place. My boss was on one of the planes that got diverted to Gander, Newfoundland after the FAA closed the US air space. Unless you have had this happen you will never understand how spooky it feels.

I am so happy she wasn't on that flight, but living with losing your friends....I was so sad to hear of this angel's passing, but I hope she found them again...

She was such a sweetheart. She doesn't really say this, but Gene Odom said Ronnie had fired her. It's probable that her and Ronnie had mended fences and she was going to rejoin them. It's likely Ronnie knew sending her away for awhile would be best for her.
In addition to being beautiful, she appeared to be a fantastic human being. She's gone too young, just like Billy, Leon, Allen. I don't even speak English, she wanted to understand the stories. :(
According to Gene Odom. Ronnie fired Jo Jo. She kept calling Allen at the hotel begging for her job back. That's why she wasn't on the plane. Her dream in my mind was true but, that's not the reason she didn't get on the plane. Ronnie may have hired her back and said meet us in Baton Rouge. Jo Jo was always a sweetheart. I wonder if her story or Gene's is the correct one. Everything that I have heard from Gene Odom has always been accurate. He didn't smoke,drink, drugs, that's why Ronnie hired him as their head of security. I'm just glad she wasn't on that plane. Gene has said in hindsight that he should have put his foot down with Ronnie and not boarded that plane. Ronnie was the boss and he said if you don't get on the plane you're fired. The Pilots were incompetent at best. They should have never taken off that day without proper maintenance and a full tank of fuel. The plane sat on the tarmac for almost an hour running some type of AUX engine while waiting for Artimus Pyle who lived nearby. So, many factors contributed to that tragic day. The great music we never got to hear. R.I.P. Jo Jo.
