    A source that I used for the NES version was inaccurate, there is actually a Day/Night Cycle in the original game. And the Famicom version has saves. I can't just edit the video and re-upload so I'll have to make sure to triple-check in the future. Thanks for watching, and yes I am in fact a human that occasionally makes mistakes.

    And the Game Boy Color version had a second bonus dungeon in the form of the Ice Cave, which had monsters such as Hardy Hands, EvilClouds, GrayBears, Blue Dragons, Dread Dragons, Pandora’s Boxes, and IronNites, in addition to Monster Medals. Not to mention, the SNES remake had new monsters in the form of Great Keepers, Phoenixes, Terror Trolls, Abracadabrers, and others like Metal Chimeras.

    • @veghesther3204
      @veghesther3204 Месяц назад +1

      But for the ICE cave the monsters almost NEVER dropped their medals and you needed EVERY SINGLE medal dropped in the first place INCLUDING the one from the Divine Dragon boss itself.
      IF the Ice cave IS going to be in this upcoming remake the Monster medals better NOT be.

    • @Nimzo25
      @Nimzo25 Месяц назад

      @ They won’t, cause I didn’t see 1 monster medal in the 2D-HD Remake’s trailers and gameplay footage.

    It's also a shame that we never got the PS2 version of DQ5. It's fantastic!

    used to walk 2 miles to the video store to rent dragon warrior 3. was always trying to beat it before someone replaced my save. Can't remember if I actually beat it, but looking forward to this. Hopefully they give 4 the same treatment, probably the best game on the original NES

  • @somebakedgood

    Saving was actually introduced to the series in the Famicom version of 3. Only 1 and 2 mandated the use of passwords

    • @GameClouds
      @GameClouds  2 месяца назад

      Not surprised, whatever source I used for the NES version had a few things wrong. Gotta triple check in the future apparently.

    • @veghesther3204
      @veghesther3204 Месяц назад

      But for DQ1 and 2 passwords were only on the Famicom version on the AMERICAN NES DQ1 and 2 removed the passwords and still used the save game system but only in churches or talking to the Kings of their respective castles.
      The NES versions of the first 4 games were NOT only Brutal but only The AI could control your party members and could NOT be controlled manually EVER the SNES/Game boy color versions of the first 3 games changed that.

  • @skins4thewin
    @skins4thewin Месяц назад

    Man how I wish someone could Mod the NES version to include the Thief class! The game is SO much better for having that class! It solves all the issues with changing Magic users to a different class as the Thief has excellent MP growth & far better stats & equipment choices.

    I'm thinking that if I play on the PS5 on graphics mode it should still perform fine since it doesn't seem like it should be the most demanding game.
    I'm honestly not even sure why there are two different modes but maybe they just have those two modes for PS5 even though they don't need them and those two modes are mainly for the switch version

    • @GameClouds
      @GameClouds  2 месяца назад +1

      They've definitely upped their game (literally) in terms of graphics. If you looked at the older trailer in my video towards the start compared to the newer ones towards the end there's a big difference. But yeah, it still doesn't seem like it should need two different modes.
      It could just be that when the game is in 4k it pushes the PS5 pretty hard. So performance mode might use some upscaling. Hard to say. Guess we'll find out!

    When you talk about the NES version, you say there's no day/night cycle and that it was introduced in the SFC version. This is false. I played the NES version a lot when I was young and I played it again recently while waiting for the remake and I know for a fact day changes to night while you walk on the world map. Pretty sure DW3 was the first game in the series to have this cycle too. There's even an item in the game to make it night and a spell to switch between the two. You're not the first one I hear say this either, I'm not sure who started spreading this but yea, it's not true.

    I wish this was the clear definitive version, but there's a few things that make me hesitate picking it up including what feels like an erasure of Akira Toriyama's art. It feels like he's being sidelined, and I wasn't even really a fan of his.

      @@ZuzNewsReviews My bad, I meant to say "imagined representation." Maku said the game got DEIfied which stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. That roughly translates to "a set of values and practices that aim to create a fair and respectful environment for people from all backgrounds." Maku is refusing to purchase the remake because of this imagined boogieman they conjured in their head.
