As a black woman with dark skin, I would not be comfortable taking the risk. However, I appreciate Dr. Dray discussing the pros (as well as the cons) of lemon juice for body odor.
In Caribbean cultures lemon and lime fruits are commonly recommended to "cut" body odors. I could see how daily use would be irritating, only if it _is_ left on the skin, but it isn't. It is rinsed off at the end of a shower/bath. Surprisingly, they don't use it everyday and it still keeps body odor at bay for a few days, no irritation. Of all the theories postulated, its mechanism may be closest to the manner in which lemons/limes "cut" the fresh scent of fish or other meat, by reacting with the amines or other odor-producing compounds. If this remedy caused that much problems, its use would come with a caveat, for the cultures all over the world that choose to use it and it would not have been around as long as it has, _globally_ This would be especially true for S.E. Asian and Latin American cultures, where they wouldn't encourage the use of something that causes skin discolouration. Again, no one leaves the lime or lemon juice on their skin. It is rinsed off at the end of a bath/shower. They also don't smell like lemons or limes. I didn't see a link to the study but it would be good to know if they really had the subjects marinating their underarms, in acidic lemon or lime juice.
Hun, darker-skinned people all the world have been using this and they haven't been burnt/ irritated or made blacker. You put salicylic and glycolic acid on your skin, in places that are exposed to sun. That alone can make you darker. Dr. Dray is an excellent debater. A thousand times YES for Panoxyl! I so appreciate this tip from Dr Dray. It's quick, easy and works perfectly for me. I rarely even use anti-perspirant anymore. I've been vegetarian for about 40 years, and after starting with the once-a-day Panoxyl in the shower, the only time I I've ever had break-through stink was the day after I accidentally ate pork sausage on a pizza. IMO the biggest issue with this lemon study is that people were allowed to self-rank their stink levels, which seems particularly subjective. I have a super-sensitive sense of smell, and I am astounded at how many people don't realize how ripe they are. I once had a boss who would fish a used t-shirt out of his gym bag to go for a run on his lunch hour, and then sit around in the stinky sweaty t-shirt all afternoon. Whoof!
Thank you for acknowledging that some people with depression can find maintaining basic hygiene difficult. I can also vouch for PanOxyl. I don't smell bad and do okay with just deodorant. But sometimes I stay in all day and don't use it at all, which can lead to stinky armpits. I bought PanOxyl for my face acne which works wonderfully alongside with Differin. I was curious one day and left on some PanOxyl under my armpits which I later washed off. IT REALLY WORKS. My armpits don't smell at all which is a cool trick for when I wanna be extra diligent about my body odor.

As a Mexican this it's almost an ancestral remedy, I understand the necessity of having to base everything with a study but I think the testimonials of thousands of people among decades can also work as a way to consider something as a fact, the lemon it's used a couple of minutes before shower once or twice a week, not every day, and then it gets rinsed, that's why the chanses of irritation or burns are very low, some people even combine it with baking soda.
@@21972012145525She never said it was science so I'm not sure why your comment is relevant. She said Mexicans already knew this worked and use it successfully. Very interesting video. Some comments I'd like to share: Lemon juice (basically citric acid, among other things) I found tremendously irritating under my arms. Tried that many years ago, and I remember stopping just after a few days, and never again, way too irritating. On the other hand, I find natural "alum blocks" (potassium alum "crystal" deodorants) pretty much perfect. You moisten them with water and gently rub them, that's it. In principle these stones have been used since millennia as natural deodorants, but I discovered them not too long ago from shaving products. They are used as antiseptic aftershaves, and they happen to also work as coagulants, so they help stop bleeding from minor skin cuts. They do sting a bit when entering an open cut no matter how small, but the sting goes away quickly, and it does cut the bleeding very effectively. Completely odorless, yet as far as I understand they make the area where it gets applied extremely inhospitable to bacteria -> hence a deodorant. Most importantly at least for my skin, not irritating at all. I have even made my own DIY sprayable liquid version of it, putting the alum blocks in water in a garden sprayer, and using that as my personal DIY deodorant bottle after I shower. I would suggest anyone rather try alum block stones as deodorants, instead of something so potentially irritating as lemon juice. PS. Fragrances are reverse-engineered (by cloning companies) using gas chromatography. So I guess automated detection of odors (good and bad) for health reasons could be done the exact same way, using gas chromatography.
My family showers once, twice at most, per week. I was an archaeologist who didn’t shower for 2 weeks at a time while working in the hot sun. I found I stunk less. But as soon as I would take a shower after a field session, I would stink within a few hours and would have to apply deodorant, something not needed out in the field. Deodorants and anti-perspirants also stop ladies from properly getting their hormones out that we dump on a monthly cycle. Lastly, eating lots of greens like spinach and lettuce reduce body odor so you don’t need the lemons as often. Deodorants get put on every day, I put on lemon a couple of hours after a shower, and it works for days. So I apply way less often than I would deodorant.

Lemons worked for me . Used it for years with no issues. As others have said, I rub a little slice on before a shower , then shower and rinse it off. No burning or irritation. If you’re going to shave, use the lemon first and rinse it off and then shave. Also, never had an issue with the skin darkening, in fact it may have even lightened the skin some . I’ve been told you can also use fresh oranges and orange peels in the same way, but I’ve never tried . Might be less irritating than lemons.
There's that whole thing where populations that use X for a long period of time generationally tend to tolerate it better than people who just pick it up willy nilly as well.
9:39 Thank you for compassionately mentioning not showering regularly due to Depression. This can happen with Autism (demand avoidance or burnout). Age and physical illness and other disability can of course be factors.
My husband grew up in a small village in Mexico and mentioned lemon or lime juice would be used for a lot! For food, underarms and even styling their hair (that one shocked me). No doubt they would’ve used it to clean too, it smells so good not to haha. I use to do those DIY face masks way back in late 2000’s- early 2010’s.. unfortunately one was lemon. No reaction but never again after googling the burns ppl got from them. Not an option at all for underarms imo but when you’re poor.. better than smelling like onions! 🧅 Happy Monday! 🙂
During lock down I couldn't bother keep shaving my underarms and I found out to my surprise it helped loads with sweating. Also, about a year ago I stopped using deodorants/antiperspirants completely as I randomly tried this deodorant stick which is basically a stick of solid piece of rock salt. You use it like a deodorant, after shower, and I haven't smelled any funk since. I bought one last June and there's still more than half of it left!
Hair is there for a reason. It dissipates sweat so it can evaporate. Deodorants only mask odor with fragrance. If you want to stop odor, use glycolic acid or as in this video, the citric acid makes the environment inhospitable for bacteria to grow.
@@violetviolet888 So does high concentrations of NaCl apparently, which is why it's been the main agent used by humans in food preservation for thousands of years now, because too much salt in their environment dehydrates microbes pretty reliably. IDK why this simple idea that has been known forever wasn't tried first & had then become the default solution for this age-old problem.
On some people works drinking homemade kombucha, it helped me and my sister. I still sweat but there is no smell. Kombucha kills some bad bacteria in our bodies, so I guess that is the reason.
Salicylic acid has a better effect, and is perhaps a safer alternative for some. I use the Paula's Choice brand 2% liquid version. I typically use it right after shaving, and it definitely works (though it may sting a little until you get used to it, but I rarely have problems unless I have a deep cut). It also lightens your armpits, and helps even out skin. And most importantly, I have not had any issues with irritation either. I love it as an option to reduce odor. Interestingly, I found a youtuber who uses non-coated crushed aspirin to treat their dandruff, and another who also uses the PC acid to treat their dandruff as well, so apparently it's very versatile (never tried the aspirin/dandruff approaches, but I do think that they'd likely work just as well). I think the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are what really helps. I have heard of the peroxide thing, so I may try that in the future for a slightly cheaper alternative.
My parents never used deodorant they used lemon🍋 juice and never had irritation .. they also squeeze tomatoes 🍅 juice to used as hair spray to keep hair tamed😂 i make my own deodorant with coconut 🥥 oil and baking soda 😀my dad hardly ever brushed hes teeth with toothpaste he would burn a tortilla and used the black burnt part to clean hes teeth 🪥 for fresh breath he chewed mint leaves. hes 76 and has no cavities yes my parents were extreme 😂but healthy
Wow! I tried the coconut oil baking soda and I might have put essential oil. I used as deodorant and had to run my doctor quick because of underarm burn. It was just one more reason why I roll my eyes at natural products. I prefer something lab tested thank you very much. 😅
@@DebbieDavidson06 Yes when I did use natural deodorant I got a terrible reaction with the ones with baking soda. Baking soda free was fine but I don't think it works as well.
I use 2% salicylic acid in my pits! I use Paula’s Choice BHA. I wax my pits and SA keeps them nice and light and I never have clogged pores or ingrown hairs. In Florida I apply daily, in the north/cool weather, I only need it once every other day!
I use Crystal stick, which is mineral salt. It works unbelievably well and has never irritated my skin. Thanks to your videos addressing underarm odor, I now also use Panoxil in the shower and apply Vanicream antiperspirant after the mineral salt. I have found that combination to be bullet proof for underarm odor.
My son and I both have sensory issues with showers. I can only shower with lukewarm water, no lights, no fan, and honestly I do better with someone to help distract me. My son needs a lot of pressure to take a shower and I still need to help him with washing his hair. Autism is not always easy.
@@21972012145525 noise, bright lights, temperatures are all very overwhelming in a small room. The Distraction is being able to focus on something other than my discomfort. Also the transition from dry to wet to drying off is a lot of full body stimulation that is exhausting just by itself. Now if I could get a actual bathtub where I can do a full body soak, that would be less stimulating. Unfortunately unless you have a few of these sensory issues it doesn’t always make sense.
I appreciate her willingness to revisit this topic. 🙏🏽 that is admirable. I will say: I find it very interesting that doctors on RUclips are often very vocal in speaking out against natural remedies, yet you never see them speaking out again chemical filled products or pills. In my opinion, that can make people lose trust in them.
I have very sensitive skin and have been using Panoxyl on my underarms in the shower for a couple of years with no irritation. I apply it and leave on for about 5 minutes, then rinse it off. It works very well, especially during the hot/humid summer. 🥵🌞 For me personally, I can't imagine applying citrus juice of any kind to an area that is shaved. 😮
Thank you for this great video. I really prized how you always keep us up-to-date on the latest information. Also, the sound in this video is perfect! I know you've been working on it so I think the mic clipped onto the hair clip is a good strategy.
Loving this! I feel like whenever I use The Ordinary glycolic acid on that area I listen to your voice in my head saying "careful with placing acids on skin folds!!" - I feel the same way about lemon juice 😮💨👌🏻
I had much improvement when I quit using deodorant. Now, I hardly smell any body odor -- really fascinating. I just use a wash cloth and TJ's oatmeal soap to clean my underarm areas.
Yeah I notice that I have to use fragrance free products onh my underarms because when I use heavily scented stuff it makes it worse. I think part of it is that fragrances left on the skin actually cause more bacteria to grow thus causing more odor.
For me, I’ve settled on the crystal rock (potassium alum) type deodorant. It keeps me odor free, feels like nothing, and truly leaves no trace. I was never overly paranoid about anti-perspirants, but when I tried “natural” deodorants it was interesting to observe when I was more stinky and what actually made me stinky. I found it had very little to do with heat and was mostly about my cycle and how much access to air my pits have.
I would also add the baking soda based deodorants can be really irritating. It makes my under arm pits so dark and irritated. I felt almost like burn. Fortunately it resolved with discontinued use.
Can you please make a video on phytophotodermatitis? I didn’t know it existed until it happened to someone I know. I think more people should be knowledgeable about it to save their skin during the summer
I used to rub lemon under my armpits and it really works as a great anti-perspirant. However, it caused really bad itching therefore I ditched using lemon as a deodorant.
My first honest reaction was man that is super duper icky 😅. I love lemon in general like in food or simply in a smell in form of a candle or other space refresher product. I new from the start your reaction Doctor Andrea because i remember you suggesting against in putting acidic products under the arms or where there is skin to skin contact and that is because with enclosure the acidic components will rise in levels of acidity and that will as a side effect cause irritation (the example i think you gave was about glycolic acid which is a huge trend on tiktok). Anyway a board certified dermatologist will provide you with the already existing options that are available in order to treat excessive sweating and unpleasant odor (i laughed so so much when you said what might be unpleasant to some might also be great for others 😂😂❤). Last but not least the popular song on tik tok (because you mentioned margaritas 😂❤) " Give one margarita...... And it goes on and on 😂😊❤. Have a great Day Doctor Andrea.
Yes I have used lemon on my armpits for years and I have found it works. (Real lemon juice not the bottled stuff)For me. I don’t tell my coworkers because theyll think I’m nuts. I have never had any irritation or sting. I use it after I shower on my armpits. And every morning. But that’s just me. Everyone is different. 🍋💛
I just tried it this am . I misplaced my antiperspirant roll on. N I squeezed a lemon n put some in my Pitts on my finger and 10 hours later, I don't atink at all. N no irritation
I can't even imagine how irritated my underarms would be if I put lemon juice on them. I'll stick to my tried and true antiperspirant. Appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a lovely evening. 💖
I'm not surprised that it works because when I was child our family used to eat crabs a lot and my mom would tell us to use lime juice to wash our hands of the odor.
I use hand sanitizer under arms. Antiperspirants make sweat glands swell. It's really uncomfortable. " Showering regularly" leads to dry skin in Arizona. I can't reach my back to put oil on it.
Hand sanitizer is completely unnecessary and adds chemicals to water when you bathe that we do not want in our drinking water. If you want to stop odor, use glycolic acid or as in this video, the citric acid makes the environment inhospitable for bacteria to grow.
I have tried numerous “natural” deodorants. They did not work. And anti-perspirant /deodorant doesn’t always work well for me when I’m wearing sleeveless clothes in the summer. However, I decided to try Native deodorant on a whim. I am shocked. It actually works really well. I was worried it would bother my skin also because a lot of deodorants do. Make is itchy. I’m pretty blown away. Being just a deodorant I still sweat though. There is that. But I do not smell. Blackberry and green tea is the scent I got. And I am not affiliated with Native in any way. I just really love the body wash so that’s why I decided to try the deodorant!
I used native for a year and it worked so well. Then it stopped working and idk why. It started to irritate my armpits. I started using the crystal spray and glycolic acid
Everything makes my underarms itch except Panoxyl. So i will just use fragrance free antiperspirant that causes the least irritation as well as i use Panoxyl. I will leave the lemon for my food.
Love this video. We really don't know if it will work unless we try it ourselves. Simple right! We could look at every aspect yet at the end of the day it truly lies within us and just trying it for ourselves and seeing if it works or doesn't.
The benzoyl peroxide didn't do much for me but I tried salicylic acid instead and that actually works great! I can't live without the CeraVe salicylic acid body wash bar soap!
Don't brush your teeth for awhile after eating something with lemons. It even makes my teeth sensitive. I used to eat fruit cups with lemon juiced on top. Messed up my tooth enamel. I don't eat them as often anymore. lol. 😆
Hi dear Dr Dray 🎉❤ isn't that lemon 🍋 that some ppl use in the old time, some ppl ppl used to mixed it with bsda.. hmm 🤔 I do sweat 💦 under the 🔥🔥🔥 South TX Sun 🌞☀️☀️ it is so hot and humid 🤕
I swear Schmidts deodorant, the fragrance free kind, keeps me smelling fresh for days. I never stink. It has to do with the baking soda and coconut oil killing bacteria. However if it's formulated with too much baking soda and I dont warm it up first, it does irritate the skin. I have to be careful putting it on.
I have been using Lume with great results! But I am a member of a FB group wives caring for stroke survivors. Who are always looking for body odor help? I will cautiously suggest your video.
I use a strong AHA serum as deodorant (the 14% one from Alpha Skin Care) and it works great! No stains in my clothes. I only shave twice a week so I don’t get any irritation. That kind of bacteria doesn’t like acid.
What I do is not leaving the lemon on during the day but showering with it. First soap, wash, lemon juice - let it sit for a few minutes - wash off again. Works perfect and leaves me with no smell. I usually still use deodorant afterwards though, but it works a lot better!
I don't know if it has to do with my breast cancer treatment for hormone receptor positive cancer, but since I haven't needed deodorant. I don't know if it's not sweating or low hormones, but I legitimately don't smell in the underarm area (trust me, I've asked, I'm not deluded😉🥴) Anyway, yay me! Have a beautiful week💗💗💗
I’ve been experimenting with alternative deodorants for the last week (chlorhexidine, homemade coconut oil/baking soda mix). I used a lemon slice last night and woke up with beautiful smelling pits! I definitely didn’t think I’d need to use it once a day. I wonder if ensuring appropriate sunscreen use would help reduce the risk of burning. I know sunscreen doesn’t block out the UVA/UVB completely though..
One thing you didn’t address was if the people in the study were located in the northern or southern hemisphere. Jan- Mar would be summer in the southern hemisphere therefore resulting in more sweat than in the winter months

Happy Monday, David!☀️☮️💜
You're giving me some Audrey Hepburn vibes today❤
Oh wow I said that too.
The hoop earrings look lovely on you. ❤
Oh thank you!
My mother grew up on a Mexican island and all they ever used was a lime or lemon as deodorant.
Mexican island? Where?
There's that whole thing where populations that use X for a long period of time generationally tend to tolerate it better than people who just pick it up willy nilly as well.
@@jonatikaWwe Guerrero, mexico.
@@normalfitgirl8619 well, that’s not an island, it’s a state 🌚
@@jonatikaWwe there are island within the state. I just don't know which one.
Yeah but has other people said you don’t smell? Like genuine people who would tell you!
@@violetviolet888
So does high concentrations of NaCl apparently, which is why it's been the main agent used by humans in food preservation for thousands of years now, because too much salt in their environment dehydrates microbes pretty reliably.
@@Elizalustof Yeah, my sister who I live with would absolutely tell me that I stink. So would (at least some) of my friends.
I use Salicylic acid wash too!
Benzoyl peroxide cleanser works better than sa
I’ve been using crystal rock deodorant for the over 10 years. Best thing on the market and you can use it anywhere on the body.
Love that they last forever, too
Benzoyl peroxide soap has been the summer game changer. Thank you Dr Dray!
Good Morning Dr. Dray🌹and to everyone watching😊
Happy Monday!
Morning!
So essentially it was like he was using a charcoal toothpaste, interesting
There are charcoal toothpastes in the store especially from the natural toothpaste brands. There's also coconut oil pulling that people do for teeth.
@@DebbieDavidson06 Yes when I did use natural deodorant I got a terrible reaction with the ones with baking soda. Baking soda free was fine but I don't think it works as well.
@@DebbieDavidson06Dr. Dray has spoken out about the dangers of using baking soda under the arms
You look stunning with your hair pulled back and I love the hairclip/microphone😊. Thank you for your fabulous videos!
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
You look sooo good~ Audrey Hepburn-ish!
I use 2% salicylic acid in my pits! I use Paula’s Choice BHA. I wax my pits and SA keeps them
nice and light and I never have clogged pores or ingrown hairs. In Florida I apply daily, in the north/cool weather, I only need it once every other day!
Benzoyl peroxide cleanser is better than sa
I use Crystal stick, which is mineral salt. It works unbelievably well and has never irritated my skin. Thanks to your videos addressing underarm odor, I now also use Panoxil in the shower and apply Vanicream antiperspirant after the mineral salt. I have found that combination to be bullet proof for underarm odor.
My son and I both have sensory issues with showers. I can only shower with lukewarm water, no lights, no fan, and honestly I do better with someone to help distract me. My son needs a lot of pressure to take a shower and I still need to help him with washing his hair. Autism is not always easy.
No Lights? Distract you in the shower? How?
@@21972012145525 noise, bright lights, temperatures are all very overwhelming in a small room. The Distraction is being able to focus on something other than my discomfort. Also the transition from dry to wet to drying off is a lot of full body stimulation that is exhausting just by itself. Now if I could get a actual bathtub where I can do a full body soak, that would be less stimulating. Unfortunately unless you have a few of these sensory issues it doesn’t always make sense.
I’m loving this hair clip mic set up 😂
For me, lemon works much better than deodorant. I have had allergies with deodorant, but with lemon I don't. However I use lemon with moderation
Is rinsing the armpits thoroughly enough to avoid bleaching towels and clothes?
@@appoloniasigg29 My towels are dark brown and so far I haven't had any bleaching problem. I do rinse very thoroughly though.
Thank you for this great video. I really prized how you always keep us up-to-date on the latest information. Also, the sound in this video is perfect! I know you've been working on it so I think the mic clipped onto the hair clip is a good strategy.
i started the benzoyl peroxide wash and it does help during these hot summer days!
Oatmeal is a powerful ingredient in skincare
Happy Monday, Dr. Dray and Friends!🎊☮️💜
Greetings Barb Owens hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
I put lemon juice under my arms for 2 -3 minutes, then rinse. Then I apply my natural deodorant. I never had a problem.
Happy Monday Dr. Dray! I’ll stick to panoxyl and Vanicream antiperspirant
Instead of the panoxyl, I use the Paula’s choice 2% bha. Probably more expensive, but I’m using it on my face anyway.
Not as good as benzoyl peroxide cleanser
I like the smell of lemons, i would try it in the middle of summer while sweating heavily . But my gosh, the cost of fresh fruit is prohibitive.
Can you please make a video on phytophotodermatitis? I didn’t know it existed until it happened to someone I know. I think more people should be knowledgeable about it to save their skin during the summer
I believe she actually already has a video
Wow. I never knew you could have surgery to remove sweat glands. Thanks for bringing great information like you always do! 🎉🎉🎉
Not gonna lie, team DIY is 🎉 🎉 🎉 over this 😉
1:42 I really wanted her to say "rank their stank" 😂
You are so gorgeous and I love your hair up like that, like a classic Audrey Hepburn💫
There is an esty who claims she hasn't used deodorant in a couple of weeks and isn't experiencing any odor.
Greetings d b hope u r well n Happy Monday😀👍💜….
Use white towels only with the benzol peroxide. It does work but I ruined expensive towels.
The cleanser never bleached anything for me
So pretty and fresh looking!! 😊
I used to rub lemon under my armpits and it really works as a great anti-perspirant. However, it caused really bad itching therefore I ditched using lemon as a deodorant.
Did you rinse the area thoroughly before proceeding?
@@pacroandwater1002 not every time, but even after the shower when I applied it, it was itchy, and the itchiness was getting worse over time.
Many people use too much lemon juice. You don’t need to use a lot.
Lemon juice out the bottle is just as effective and is more sanitary than keeping used arm pit fruit in a bag. Try it.
I just tried it this am . I misplaced my antiperspirant roll on. N I squeezed a lemon n put some in my Pitts on my finger and 10 hours later, I don't atink at all. N no irritation
Apple cider vinegar works for me. Never tried lemon juice, but ACV (after washing with Panoxyl) is all I need in the winter.
cute microphone :)
Here's another link to your favorite 🎉❤😂hair accessories.. Thanks informing us.
I use hand sanitizer as well, I use Dr bronners as it's safer than most hand sanitizers
Doesn’t that dry the skin as well? It’s mostly alcohol
Antiperspirants Mahe the sweat glands swell. Source?
Have a great Monday guys xo
Happy Monday, Tony!☀️☮️💜
Ending the endless natural deodorant search & picked up some antiperspirant yesterday 😂🙏🙏 can't deal with the irritation anymore
If you want to stop odor, use glycolic acid or as in this video, the citric acid makes the environment inhospitable for bacteria to grow.
Dr Dray and other dermatologists do not recommend glycolic underarms. There's a risk of irritation and hyperpigmentation.
@@db-gb5xi Dr Dray recommended glyclolic acid in one of her videos herself. As I said, low percentage.
Welcome back! I just finally threw away my stash of natural deodorant fails. In my defense I bought them before Dr Dray.
@@violetviolet888she recommends benzoyl peroxide cleanser repeatedly not glycolic acid
Aluminum free deodorants worked better for me and less expensive
I used native for a year and it worked so well. Then it stopped working and idk why. It started to irritate my armpits. I started using the crystal spray and glycolic acid
@@SPEAKSB I suspect it will stop working at some point. The regular one do. I have to keep changing it up
Try benzoyl peroxide cleanser
I can’t imagine hair under my arms
This leads me to believe ppl just follow what they read. Do not use it daily
Happy Monday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Everything makes my underarms itch except Panoxyl. So i will just use fragrance free antiperspirant that causes the least irritation as well as i use Panoxyl. I will leave the lemon for my food.
Stress can bring it out
Happy Monday Dr Dray❤ Thank you for this video!! 0:37
Morning!
Your hair is on point in this video 💯👌
Love this video. We really don't know if it will work unless we try it ourselves. Simple right! We could look at every aspect yet at the end of the day it truly lies within us and just trying it for ourselves and seeing if it works or doesn't.
The benzoyl peroxide didn't do much for me but I tried salicylic acid instead and that actually works great! I can't live without the CeraVe salicylic acid body wash bar soap!
Is that drying? I have it in my stash but scared of trying due to my eczema!
Thank you for this important information. I learn something whenever I watch your videos
Happy Tuesdayy
Have a great week 😊
Don't brush your teeth for awhile after eating something with lemons. It even makes my teeth sensitive. I used to eat fruit cups with lemon juiced on top. Messed up my tooth enamel. I don't eat them as often anymore. lol. 😆
I use lime and lemon juice all the time in my armpits😀
Thank you! Have a great week!🥰
Hi dear Dr Dray 🎉❤ isn't that lemon 🍋 that some ppl use in the old time, some ppl ppl used to mixed it with bsda.. hmm 🤔 I do sweat 💦 under the 🔥🔥🔥 South TX Sun 🌞☀️☀️ it is so hot and humid 🤕
I appreciate you so much
Have a great day!!!🔝
You too!
I use one without baking soda. It irritates my skin. Rubbing it into the armpit does make it work better, and I end up using less that way.
How do you know if it’s formulated with too much baking Soda? And what do you mean by if you don’t warm it up first
I have been using Lume with great results! But I am a member of a FB group wives caring for stroke survivors. Who are always looking for body odor help? I will cautiously suggest your video.
Benzoyl peroxide cleanser
I use a strong AHA serum as deodorant (the 14% one from Alpha Skin Care) and it works great! No stains in my clothes. I only shave twice a week so I don’t get any irritation. That kind of bacteria doesn’t like acid.
yeah it can be irritating but it’s generally can be effective because fruit is clean, or at least it’s supposed to be
What I do is not leaving the lemon on during the day but showering with it. First soap, wash, lemon juice - let it sit for a few minutes - wash off again. Works perfect and leaves me with no smell. I usually still use deodorant afterwards though, but it works a lot better!
I'm surprised Dr Dray didn't mention iontophoresis for sweaty underarms.
Love the info! Question… where do you get your accent chairs from? I love them
I don't know if it has to do with my breast cancer treatment for hormone receptor positive cancer, but since I haven't needed deodorant. I don't know if it's not sweating or low hormones, but I legitimately don't smell in the underarm area (trust me, I've asked, I'm not deluded😉🥴) Anyway, yay me! Have a beautiful week💗💗💗
Just wanted to say hope you are well, cancer free or overcoming the cancer💕 sending all my wishes & wish I could do more xx
Benzoylperoxid ruined a couple of clothes and towels for me. And no, i did not forget to thoroughly wash it off.
I love your top❤where did u get it from?
Aluminum salt in deodorant stain white cloth so bad!!! This is the main reason I avoid aluminum salt not because it’s whatever…
lemon juice works for me. once a week, that's all it takes.
I've heard of using spray magnesium chloride for deodorant but not lemon.
sixpackbinky, you can use glycolic acid too. Basically it's creating an inhospitable environment for bacteria
