Hi Matthew. This was at Ormskirk, we just got on the train when the guard asked everybody to get off, there where three units in the station then three more arrived. Apparently they don't allow people on whilst coupling, when this train gets to Maghull there are a million school kids get on hence they need six units coupled. Regards Pete

correction Peter, one coach is not a unit, a unit is a full 3 car train :) a six car train is classed as 2 units :)

Peter, no platform can accomodate a 18 car train, at least in the UK. 1 unit = 1 train, not 1 unit = 1 carriage.
