- The Diamond Valley Railway at the Eltham Lower Park is one of Victoria's finest miniature railways. The 7¼ inch gauge railway features a 2km circuit with different loops, bridges and tunnels and lots of scenery!
In this video we take a look around this wonderful miniature railway. On this particular day the railway has hosting a private running day for members and invited guests as part of the railway's 58th birthday celebrations. As a result we get heaps of trackside views around the railway members of the general public wouldn't normally be able to see.
Miniature trains seen include a Victorian Railways S & T Class diesel locomotives, a V/Line G Glass, A NSWGR 81 Class, Australian National CL & BL Class locomotives, a Rio Grande class K-36 steam locomotive, a Victorian Railways N/A Class steam locomotive, and more!
The Diamond Valley Railway is open to the public every Sunday from 11am - 5pm, with rides costing $3.

I guess it's no FURphy that some of the rail fans are animals... 😄 Looks like a fun time was had by all. Makes me want to go there for a little while.
love the place. not sure what the furry is doing tho...
Having fun?
whats a mascot doing at a micro train interchange?
@@mr.engineear0987 Having fun
Tho if I wanted to make it weird, I'd say they're living their macro fantasies
Haven't thought about this joint in 30 years.
Awesome looking equipment and interesting layout. I like the thicker steel rails, rather than my scale aluminum ones. Sure these will hold up a lot longer
Also, why are there people dressed as wolves at the Diamond Valley Railway?
Those are called furries
The person dressed up as a wolf freaks me out!
*look at ur name bro lol :)*
My father took me there in the 70s to ride those miniature trains. Great to see!
THERE WAS A FURRY
You know what weird how I just came across this video not realising that a furry was going to be in it and then we thinking to myself that I am a furry and then I got really really confused and then I said to myself I think he got a Technical difficulty with your video buddy
Eeww 🤮
Wot is a dog Donning here
what the dog doing
0:31 lol furry taking a train ride downtown
What if you put your finger on the track?
Man I the Australians are wild when it comes to this scale, Here in the states we do 1/6 to 1/8 scale on 7.5 gauge track with the occasional narrow gauge guys coming by, I also believe we had 1 guy go to Mill Creek Central in Ohio that brought this kinda scale there but all he had was the locomotive and nothing else
These trains are awesome! I would like to know who manufacturers these. Are they kits? I've never seen them this large in 7&1/4 gauge where you can actually sit *inside* instead of on top.
Gosh, I remember going on trains like this in Dobwalls (Cornwall - United Kingdom) when I was a kid, it was the best place on earth, loved going around on these! "Keep your feet on the boards and your arms in!"
Some of these trains are actually the ones from dobwalls
@@themightyquinnm190 That being the case, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WILLIAM JEFFERS? As far as I know, The Wm Jeffers, a professionally built, 4-8-8-4 model of a UP Big Boy, was shipped to Australia and the The Diamond Valley Railway. It had been a headline locomotive from John Southern's railway at Dobwalls in Cornwall (UK) in the 80's and 90's. Since then, it has vanished.
I know many people have mentioned it, but there was no answer from DVR when I asked some years ago and no-one has come up with even a clue as to where it might be. I'd hate to think it has been scrapped or walled up in someone's garage. If The DVR don't want it, let RUclips know and someone will start a fund to bring it home.
GERMANS ARE ATTACKING!!!!!! Lol that was funny riding the Derm sad that the Taits couldn’t run in the rain at the time
Train Chaser Jesse I love your videos!
yeah why is there furry?
Should have let the furry drive.
I wouldn't trust that furry with my life. Or train.
I've been there multiple times as a kid. Good times. I'm planning on going back there soon
Did I just witness a furry mount a miniature train?

Sorta brings back memory’s of last year’s run.

Where can I buy this
My question is why the hell was there a furry there lmao
I have been there, it was a awesome day I had.
Out of curiosity what is something like this worth , say the green National with the silo bins on it ? Thank you
I only know the prices of steam locomotives but I'd guess a diesel of that size in 7¼ would run you around 6-20k depending on who you know or how much work you want to put in yourself.
Been there done that MULTIPLE TIMES
I went to the DVR back in 2016.
amazing very good.sorry can you buy these trains...?where to buy them.thank you

Diamond Valley Railway in Eltham.
Well well?. I did not know?. There were furries in Australia?. Especially riding trains
furries are everywhere, they're quite common, even if someone dont show it they could be lol
DaisyMayTheVxn. Correct. But at the same time and this is true facts. U basically know. That Satanic furs. Are becoming more and more of a big issue. Because of there negative reputation behind them.
THE MEMORIES
Are they hiring?
Diamond Valley Railway always welcomes new volunteers, although the railway is closed at the moment due to COVID-19.
More info about volunteering here: www.dvr.com.au/join-us/how-you-can-contribute.php
I have actually been there multiple times throughout the years since I was a kid in the mid 2000s! I also got to drive a short train there supervised back in early 2017 as I was close friends with a great guess known as Michael who was volunteering there at the time and of course it was on a Saturday when the railway was closed to the public! I also believe BL25 seen at 9:00 was the exact locomotive I drove and the number seen in my FPV video I did back then on the cab dashboard was 7256 so I’m guessing that number was something along the lines of the unit consist number! It was also not to hard to dive due to it being a Hydraulic locomotive! :)
My fav place
Lol the wolf
