Turns out the driver hadnt put the break on or something. Lucky that no one was injured, but now i know everyones fine.... i can.... LOL!

No I believe that these are called trap points which are set to derail the train on purpose in order to prevent collisions.
This train is back in service it's the white colour train back in service on the wirral lines
