@junior-OG there are several reviews out there already. What needs to be known is that word is that each of the review samples sent to reviewers are for keeps. That means that the reviews we see essentially are paid reviews and not all reviewers are being up-front honest about it.

Your description is very detailed . Way beyond my knowledge of equipment. I am looking at purchasing this . Would it go well with my Rotel 1592 MKII integrated amp and a pair of Polk R700 speakers? This is the first stereo I have ever had and would like to expand with more pieces to it like the Eversolo DMP A8 . Right now I stream from a iPhone Spotify to my Rotel and quite enjoy it but am looking for better like the Eversolo DMP A8. Also thanks for confirming the DMP-A8 ability to output on both single ended and balanced outputs simultaneously... I do have a question though.. For those of us that only have one sub (not pairs) can the RCA outputs be summed so that the sub receives the complete L&R signal?
Perhaps a feature that could be suggested rather than using Y adaptor cable.
I would say Wireless transmitter is the only option other than Y cable or RCA Stereo cable. Thanks
Thanks, a new streamer that's getting a lot of press. Also, thanks for the links to ALL the equipment. I have yet to listen to the A6 review. I too have a Denafrips Pontus II. What about the A6 running through the Pontus DAC as opposed to using the A6 DAC?

Thank you for the excellent review, very helpful. I am trying to decide between the EverSolo DMP-A8 and a Cary Audio DMS-650 that uses dual AKM AK4497EQ DACs going into my Luxman L-509x.
DMP-A8 is better choice for me because other one look like rebadge product from Chinese supplier.
@@Tharbamar Respectfully. The Cary Audio DMS Series of digital sources are made in North Carolina, USA and have retail price range from $6k to $15k. Cocktail Audio products are high quality and Korean manufactured. In my reference system I have a Cary Audio DMS-700 connected to my $25k USD German made T+A PA3100HV integrated amp. My Luxman L-509x is in my secondary system - which I've decided to sell and replace with an Accuphase E-5000. If you have any intereste, Hans Beekhuyzen has reviewed the DMS-700, a Coacktail audio piece and the DMP-A8 on his RUclips channel.

Great review thank you so much. I am looking for a streamer only as using the Lyngdorf MP50 native streamer isn't easy without a touchscreen and their app is less than great. Do you feel this is the best value streamer for the money?
Pontus II or EverSolo DMP-A8? I like the EverSolo DMP-A8 can be used as a preamp. You could even run your turntable through the analog inputs if you wanted to.
Thank you for your unbiased review. I have watched all of them and keep coming back to yours. I was wondering if there is a fixed output on the preamp section. I hope to connect this unit to my McIntosh C52 preamp using a pair of XLR cable. Variable output can present a problem.
I asked that very question to Eversolo tech support because it doesn't have a volume bypass option like the A6...and here's their very specific answer that should help
The digital outputs (optical/coaxial/USB) have a volume passthrough mode, which can be accessed through their respective menus. The analog output doesn't have a fixed volume option; setting the A8 to maximum volume will bypass the preamp.
@scottmuhlbaier1945 Thank you! I did send the same question to Eversolo and received a similar answer. I also asked them if I do this by turning the volume to the max or if there is a software switch, and I am still waiting for the final answer.

Subjectively, would you expect better sound quality and listener experience from DMP-A8 as all-in-one using onboard DAC and taking advantage of DSP, or, DMP-A8 as streamer outputting via I2S (which bypasses the internal DAC and also bypasses the onboard DSP) to the Denafrips Venus II 12th-1. Second option uses much better DAC but looses the benefit of DSP. So what do you think?
I would say with DSP will be better in the long run, unless you prefer R2R sound, thanks

Sony is just a solid music server without much features that going to last forever, A8 is just perfection for all of streaming needs with real Pre stage and DSP, it totally void the need of many different components. Thanks
Here is my dilemma: I currently like the internal dac in my Hegel H190. Is the dac in the A8 that much better? If not, I had rather buy the a6 master edition and digital out to my Hegel dac. Thoughts?

Thanks, interesting points, somewhat conflicting with other reviews, but may be a system thing, and it's just a warning to take reviews with a pinch of salt, they might apply somewhat differently in your system. In your opinion, as a pure digital transport (not intending to use the preamp and DAC), is the A8 worth over the A6 Master Edition?
For digital transport duty alone I’ll stick with regular A6.

One quick question I was hoping you can help with: as an owner of an Accuphase integrated amp, would you recommend going with Accuphase’s DAC60 card with an affordable external streamer (like WiiM Pro or Node) or Eversolo DMP A8. What would you have gone with between the two? Thank you in advance for your opinion.
DAC60 with WiiM Pro would be great paring, I hide WiiM Pro behind Pontus II and most of my friends preferred it over high end streamers. 😊

The Wiim Pro is good, especially with a good PSU - and its app is good as well. But it is clearly limited vs. higher end streamers (as a digital transport), such as Lindemann Musicbook and Lumin (purity, clarity, shape, color of tones, sound stage, realism). At least it's above Node. Go listen if you can, but on a blind guess, I'd bet on the DAC-60 card being better, simply because of the Accuphase integration. Out of the DMP-A8 I'd still only use its digital transport, not the DAC and preamp. The best common sense streamer I could imagine would simply be a Stream Unlimited board with I2S output and power input, plus a good app. For HDD, a simple Lumin L1 with a good PSU, eventually upgraded with better parts.
So...did you return the unit to Eversolo or they asked you to keep it?

Ok let be honest. I liked (and expected) what you said : Different chipset from A6 and A8, different power supply (dual on the A8, including the kind of upgrade available for the A6). But the sound there is very midrange based or emphasized.

Hey, how does the dmp a8 compares to the sony z1es soundwise when using Spotify or songs on internal hdd?
I sold my Sony z1es 2 years ago and still regret selling it. Because it's very hard to find one ( almost impossible) used here in Belgium, I bought a DMP A6 before they announced the A8. I must say that I liked the sound of the Sony much more than my A6.

A8 is perfect choice if you’re going to use DSP with all the bells and whistles but if you want to get simple two channel setup A26 with music server is the most high fidelity solution.

Hi, I have Auralic vega g1, keeping to 2 channel only, would a change to Eversolo A8 or something like wiim pro with denafrips ares 12th-1 be musically the better option, thoughts on this direction greatly appreciated, possibly better streamer, even a used Auralic Aries g1 ??

This one use akm dac, but still bright? I play menu older rock and metal and need warmth in my music and forgiven for poorer records. The a 6 is too bright, but the a 8 also?

People change the A6 with a linear power supply unit. Will the A8 needs one to?
Take a look at the clear inside video shots & see it has a switching and an LPS already. So basically this has everything the A6 Master has plus much more.
The A6 doesn't need one. But you could upgrade the smps in the A8 with a LPS. Could also upgrade the LPS already in there to a better one.
Can this dmp-A8 output 5.1 ? Can you send that to a AVR ?
No it cannot because they changed the HDMI channel to an i2s (stereo) transfer. One of the major negatives between this and the A6.

I listen to again the Audalytic AH90 (AK4499EX) and is the sound is better, more engadging. Very similar but more musical.
Now I look at your DMP-A8 stars, you also value the Audalytic more in terms of sound.
More natural, musical, "analog" sound the Gustard / Audalytic DAC
nearly everything he says the A8 isn't going to give you, i find I get from my A6 ME with modified PD Creative linear power supply. The bottom end is very deep, the image is holographic and wide and it's not harsh at all.
So have you tried A8 in your system? because it's different sounding than A6 ME.
DMP-A6 is better for DSD multichannel.
Are there any devices that do not have sibilance?
How do you hear sibilance or you are confused with the hiss from sensitive condenser microphone?

@@colindoyle9876 I understand, just speaking sound quality and value alone, in last 5 years personally had pretty much every Musician DAC from bottom to top end and never had one with issue.
Generally most quality DAC doesn’t need after support unless something is defective or user error.

Yeah they kind of screwed the pooch when they change the HDMI to i2s because that was one of the strings of the A6. They need to add the HDMI back to this so it also has multi-channel out.

Not all of us base said purchases solely upon the emission of a headphone input, as a purist of sort……, lots of us still believe in two channel setups, meaning music as rendered through speakers.

Many audiophiles interested for Eversolo already have decent DAC which is better than A6 and maybe even A8. It is waste of money buying Streamer / DAC paying for inferior quality DAC built in. I hope they will come out with reference quality Streamer only unit like Hifi Rose or Aurender did

Hi, idea of A8 is to cover most of the front-ends not just for steaming but If you already have superior DAC why not just get WiiM Pro and hide behind it for streaming and UPnP playback only, please keep in mind DSP is major difference maker than any high end DAC, thanks
