Excellent review. I am in the market for a Streamer/DAC and have been thinking about the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition, DMP-A8 or HiFi Rose RS250. My integrated amp has a tube buffered pre-amp so I was wondering if the A8 with AKM DAC's might be a little bit too much of a good thing with it being a bit warm by design. Any advise?

I'm extremely new to this market, but this caught my eye. I currently have a Pioneer receiver/amp that I run a surround sound setup with Klipsch speakers. Is this something that I could run with this receiver, or would I need to pick up just an amp for it? Thanks, sorry for the noob questions.

Great question as your 1140 has really good DAC's inside, which in your case are decoding the stream from the Apple TV. With pretty high end speakers in a room with good acoustics, these would be an upgrade, but you are already at a good spot. I just bought the A6 ME from you guys. I was curious how could I integrate a 2.1 system with it? I don't want to run though the subs first. I wasn't sure how I could get an LFE signal from the A6 as the L&R is taking up the RCA outputs.
Thanks for your support of Audio Advice. There is not a way to roll the bass off going to your mains unless you ran through the subwoofer crossover first. You could get a set of balanced to RCA adapters and use the XLR outputs to go direct to your sub with a full range signal. Please reach out to our team for more technical support.

Hey, I'd love to hear what you think. I have a system made up of a Conrad Johnson amplifier and preamplifier and Sonos Faber speakers - Amati Homage. I am debating which model to choose from the three because I don't need an additional preamplifier like the a8 has, but I am looking for a model that will satisfy me and match the level of the system. Is the difference between the a6 and a8 so significant and worth the investment? Thanks
The A6 Master is the sweet spot, but you have a system you could likely hear the improvements offered by the A8. Please feel free to reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss further. Thanks for watching
@AudioAdvice I probably won't use the a8's preamplifier, so maybe it's even better to go for another company and invest the same amount of money in a device that only includes a dac and a streamer that will be of better quality. On the other hand, I really heard a lot of good things about the a8 and it seems to support many platforms. In your opinion, even if I don't use a preamplifier, is it worth the investment? Thanks.

Have you done any side by side comparisons of the A6 Master Edition and the A8? I just bought the Master Edition a couple of weeks ago and just love it. I have it going digitally into a active crossover with its own DAC and preamp.
I had to decide between A6-Master Edition or DAC-Z8. Choosed the DAC-Z8. Though I originally wanted a Streamer with Apple Music Bit-Perfect. Well, I think I‘m fine with it. Streaming Tidal via Bluesound Node 2i or Apple Music via Apple TV 4K or plug in iPad/iPhone via USB directly to the Z8. Saved me 600€ 😊 And the Z8 has the same clocks as the master edition and an even better DAC-Chip. The Headphone Amp is nice, but to weak for my 300 Ohm Sennheiser HD800S. I drive it by Sennheiser HDVD800. I can confirm the high built-quality of the Z8. Eversolo is highly recommended. I think the prices of their stuff will rise in the next coming years.
@@nevencovic2804 Well, for me it works. Originally I wanted the A6 because of Bit perfect Apple Music App to not plug in the iPad. But I the more I knew about the Z8, the more I didn‘t care about Apple Music. I have Tidal too. And I saved some money. Important for me was to get a good DAC and PreAmp, as I already had the Node 2i. If you don‘t have a standalone streamer I think the A6 Master Edition is the way to go.

@@AudioAdvice Right on. Kind of glad to hear it as I bought the a6 master right before the a8 was announced and regretted not waiting because I much prefer the sound signature of the AKM chips to the Sabre. Good to know there is at least one benefit to holding on to the a6 that the a8 does not offer. I was wondering if you had a chance (or if you still have the units, have a chance) to compare DSD conversion between the two units? Curious about the sonic difference between the two chip sets when playing DSD.
I had the Blue Sound Node and then I purchased the A6, I use a Chord Hugo TT2/mscaler combo for my DAC, so i only use the node / A6 as a digital streamer transport, the difference was astounding, the A6 is on a completely different level to the Node, I would say that in my configuration the DMP-A6 is 20-30% better than the Node, in terms of sound quaility, maybe even more. I have also now upgraded the power supply in the DMP-A6 and that has improved it further. The best sound I could get from the Node was using USB to the DAC, however with the Eversolo DMP-A6, the best digital output to my mscaler is Optical, even my wife can tell the difference !!
I’m heavily considering getting one of these but the amps I run from Sonance don’t offer a digital input, only rca. Will I still hear the difference between an A6/A8 and my current Sonos port setup?
Never was able to pair my DMP-A6 Master Edition to my smartphone. I suspect it's because I'm stealing my neighbour's wifi. Also, you should mention aftermarket linear power supply mods for the A6.
Most streaming services have jitter not in all songs , now if you use 2000 € eversolo its some jitter ? On speakers I use av amp and i have jitter not in all songs and not net problem i have 200 mbs Thank you
Which would be better if used as the main device for drying music from a hard drive? a6 and a6me? there is a big difference in sound, is there any reason to overpay for 6me?
You never addressed the core of what serious audiophiles want to know; is there any difference AS A STREAMER. You compared them as source/DAC's out to a power amp.
We plan to test them this way. This video created a lot of owner feedback and many said when they compared the Master was better as a streamer, likely due to the better clock. The 8 may be no better than the Master as a streamer. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice, it's because you are obviously under the influence of the extreme EverSolo campaign. The average listener does not care about specific DA conversion chips, especially considering that sound results from conversion algorithms and analog sections. For example, I am using a Metronome DA converter and am not interested in what it consists of. I only know that I will get another DA converter the day I hear one (I am an educated musician, so I have a firm reference for how music should sound). I understand that people are attracted to large screens and versatility, but I don't hear the screen or versatility of that particular device. Furthermore, they sound tiny and have quite compressed dynamics with somewhat "strange" timbre (to say at least). The price is undoubtedly attractive, and from that perspective, Eversolo or Blusound can be interesting, but please be kind and keep them in their (low-end) class. On the other hand, I had the unfortunate opportunity to hear Bluesound (as digital transport), and it is (I am polite here) not even worth mentioning. Analogwise, Bluesound is a clown and not a Hifi gear.
The touch screen does not expand to the edges top, bottom or sides. There's a wide black border surrounding the functional touch area. Would be interesting to know if the stated 6 inch measurement represents the active usable area or the entire face of the 'screen' itself with the black border. It's a little misleading to showcase the touch screen going right to the edges when in fact it doesn't. Maybe a bit of accuracy would go a long way more in line with the aesthetics of the screen and the unit.
@@scottvamp No need for the sarcasm my friend. Grow up. Your references in regards to the touch screen are incorrect and it's illustrated in the video. The glass panel is edge to edge but not the actual surface touch area for the UI. Too many in the crowd - LoL
The aesthetics are nice however the use of brushed aluminum for AV componenets (imho) needs to stop. They get dusty & are hard to clean. The old Sunfire cinema grand amps were terrible in this regard!
Sorry but all of these need power amps. They all have amazing tech and streaming capabilities. So why the F$&K is there no trigger output on the A6s so now all the tech but you need to walk up to the system and turn on the power amps? That's just sad
I do not understand who like to sit near a streamer when listening music… i would prefer a good app for phone or tablet… no screen at all, and a significant price drop?
Thats called a bluesound Node. i have an A6 ME with power supply upgrade. If i had to chose between that and my power supply upgraded Node, I'd keep the node purely based on it's sound.

Why would they remove that capability, are there any other streamers that can output multichannel via hdmi ?? Don’t think so.
@@Up27amWe don’t know of one either.
Love the display options!

Got my A8 from you guys. Btw, where’s the settings guide you said you send to us?
Thanks so much for your support. We should have the guide very soon.
Amazing review!

Any advise?
Thank you. We don’t think that would be too warm. Please feel free to reach out to our team to discuss further. Thanks for watching.
I’m new to these things. How do you connect headphones?
Great question as these do not have a headphone jack. You would need to connect a headphone amp up. Thanks for watching
Perfect timing! Thanks for the reviews. Will be purchasing this from you soon! 👌
Great to hear! We appreciate you supporting our channel and small business.
Got the unit yesterday and I am blown away after only 1hr in with this thing. This is absolutely everything I was looking for in a modern user-friendly streamer. Looks beautiful too. The build quality is outstanding. Looking forward to adding my entire music collection to an M2 drive and lettin' rip! THANK YOU AUDIO ADVICE. ps...the app with this is perfection 👌 Tidal is brand new to me now.
@@bootneylee9802 Great to hear!
Will the a6 master edition be good enough for kanto tuks i think the a8 might be too big
Certainly!
I'm kind of bummed that there is no headphone support. What would one suggest to get to go along these EverSolo units so that I can utilize my headphones? (Both wired and wireless)
Sure! Contact our experts at audioadvice.com and they can help determine one that would best suite your needs. Thanks!
Hi, I am deciding if I will buy an A6 Mater or a A8, the budget is not the problem, my main point is that i will use the streamer connected with may Receiver Anthen 1140. I saw that the A6Master has an HDMi output and A8 doesn’t have. The quality of music will be the same connect by HDMI or Optical? Even my stream service provides Dolby Atmos? The IIS output can be connected as HDMI ? Thanks a lot for your attention.
Thanks for the question. Call or chat with our team of experts at audioadvice.com and they can help you determine which one will be best for your situation. Thanks!
Is it possible to use A8 as a Rooncore and endpoint?
That is a great question we do not know the answer to but we will try and find out. It is likely not, but we see if we can get to the bottom of it. Thanks for watching
Whats different between DMP-A6 and Master edition?
We went over that in the video but besides the cosmetics it is the clock and the audio out section. Thanks for watching
I am trying to decide between the Hifi Rose, the A8, and Wiim Ultra? Is there a huge difference between them? I am going to guess so because of the vast price difference?
Yes, they will all be quite different in quality. Call or chat with our experts at audioadvice.com and they can help you determine the best option for you!
Thanks for the great review... If I want to use them just as a streamer, which one should I choose?
We have not tested them as stremers only but there has been a lot of user feedback on this video and it seems the A6 Master is the best streamer only choice. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice Thank you....
Is it possible to use A8 as a Rooncore and endpoint? So did you get to the bottom of this as you promised? It's a very important question.
Sorry. We have contacted our Eversolo tech support twice with no reply. We plan to keep asking.
Forgive my ignorance is this a well established brand and is the product reliable?
They are a new brand for the US market, but so far they have been very reliable. Thanks for watching
I'm extremely new to this market, but this caught my eye. I currently have a Pioneer receiver/amp that I run a surround sound setup with Klipsch speakers. Is this something that I could run with this receiver, or would I need to pick up just an amp for it? Thanks, sorry for the noob questions.
Yes, it can connect up to a receiver. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss the best path for your system. Thanks for watching
How much of an upgrade would any of these be instead of using say an Apple TV 4K to an anthem mrx 1140 and MCA 525 ?
Great question as your 1140 has really good DAC's inside, which in your case are decoding the stream from the Apple TV. With pretty high end speakers in a room with good acoustics, these would be an upgrade, but you are already at a good spot. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss in more detail.
Please reach out to our team for more technical support.
are the analog inputs on the A8, channelled to the USB outputs?
Call or chat with our team at audioadvice.com and they can look into this for you. Thanks!
I have the Gold version and I am totally blown away from the sound quality in combination with my fm300 from china. Music in Wav/Flac from SSD is georgous.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you are happy with it
Hey, I'd love to hear what you think.
Thanks.
@@nimrod6985 It is still a great streamer by itself The preamp part is just switching and a variable output option, so it does not add that much cost as many other DACs have multiple inputs too. We hope you will support our small business and purchase from Audio Advice www.audioadvice.com/eversolo-dmp-a8-network-streamer-dac-preamp
I have always heard so many people concerned about DAPs software becoming outdated. How come no one is raising that concern with these devices?
Their platform is very easy to do updates on.
As a streamer only any reason to get anything over the 6? Master or 8 sound better as a streamer only?
We have not compared but from all the user comments on that question, the answer seems to be they are the same as a streamer only. Thanks for watching
Hello, which one of the DMP A6 would fit better an Onkyo rz50 with two Wharfedale diamond 9.5 speakers? Thanks

Hi, awesome review. Please advise how i would connect the Eversolo DMP a6 to my intergrated Marantz pm 7200 amplifier that has a preamplifier built in. Your feedback would be highly appreciated.
Thanks! You would just connect it to an audio input on your Marantz and set its output level to fixed. If you decide to purchase we hope you will support our channel and purchase it from Audio Advice. Thanks for watching.

Brother you are very late on EverSolo - yet thank you for this video. This is a great product. I have the EverSolo DMP A6 - Master Edition, DMP -A8 And the EverSolo AMP F-2. Lovely, lovely product , I am in love with EverSolo.I Very highly recomend this Name brand EverSolo.
Yes, we just recently became a dealer. Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you are a big fan!
Have you done any side by side comparisons of the A6 Master Edition and the A8? I just bought the Master Edition a couple of weeks ago and just love it. I have it going digitally into a active crossover with its own DAC and preamp.
The only big feature that is missing is a Phono Input, at least on the A8 model.
Yes, that would be nice. Thanks for watching
And Home Theater Bypass .
what do you think about add this to my vintage system, I have a SANSUI AU 717 / integrated amp and JBL L82 Classic
Would be an awesome way to add streaming to that system!
By the way, awesome setup 😁
I have an A6 master edition. Not sure it’s worth upgrading to the A8 though. Doesn’t look like there’s much of a hardware difference.
Since you already have the A6 Master, you should probably stick with it. Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing. You make a good point for people with an existing streamer! We agree on the pricing.
So you think buying Z8 dac and plug bluesound node in it is better option than buying A6 either regular or master edition?
@@nevencovic2804 Well, for me it works. Originally I wanted the A6 because of Bit perfect Apple Music App to not plug in the iPad. But I the more I knew about the Z8, the more I didn‘t care about Apple Music. I have Tidal too. And I saved some money. Important for me was to get a good DAC and PreAmp, as I already had the Node 2i.
If you don‘t have a standalone streamer I think the A6 Master Edition is the way to go.
@@andreaswoehler26 yeah i have pc and dac (arcam irdac 2) but its not so good so i need an upgrade ...pc isnt the best solution for it so i am searching best deal maybe combo for both...either go for streamer/dac or buy better dac than arcam then later maybe some streamer or something
@@nevencovic2804 yes, a dedicated streamer definitely makes sense. PC isn‘t that convinient.

hello …. very good video… I wanted to know if it plays Dolby Atmos format from Apple Music or Tidal. Greetings from 🇨🇱
Glad you liked it. Do you mean will it transcode Atmos content down to stereo? These are all two channel pieces.
Is the A8 better than rose 250?
Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com to discuss the differences.
The rose is a different price bracket, I've heard the rose is abit glitchy the app isn't as good either but pretty sure it's an all in one.
I own the Dmp A6 ….I absolutely love it
Thanks for sharing! Glad you are happy with it.
I thought the a8 lacked the multichannel HDMI output capability
Yes, that was our mistake, thanks for pointing it out. It does not which we confirmed with Eversolo, we thought we have corrected the video with an overlay during that part, but will make sure it went through.
Is there a built in Chromecast?
Sorry, there is not at this time.
Thanks for sharing. We did not compare just as a streamer but will based on your findings. You also have one of the best DACs you can get!
Love a bit of optical action! Interesting you found that best as everyone goes on about USB. I'll try both !
Good info!
Glad it was helpful!
I like the A8, but Eversolo took out the HDMI out… I think the A6 Master then. Good reviews.
Thanks for sharing. Both are great choices.
The DMP-A6 has all I need, but a second optical input, so I need to spend an extra amount of money to buy that DMP-A8
At least the 8 will give you better performance. Thanks for watching
I would like to see a powerb amplifier thats fits the dmp-a8
We have several nice ones to choose from. But it would be interesting to see a power amp from them.
Eversolo AMP-F2
I’m heavily considering getting one of these but the amps I run from Sonance don’t offer a digital input, only rca. Will I still hear the difference between an A6/A8 and my current Sonos port setup?
If you have good speakers, yes
Wish it had a headphone amp.
Would make a perfect pre amp.
Yes, that would be nice. Thanks for watching
Look at the DAC-Z8. It‘s a DAC/Headphone-/Pre-Amp. But no streaming.
Play Dolby Atmos from amazon music or Tidal?
We like Tidal
Sent back my WIIM Ultra for the A6
Thanks for sharing. We hope you enjoy the A6.
Never was able to pair my DMP-A6 Master Edition to my smartphone. I suspect it's because I'm stealing my neighbour's wifi.
Also, you should mention aftermarket linear power supply mods for the A6.
Yes, that would be the reason. Thanks for sharing
SACD *.ISO bitperfect for
We hope you get your wish as that would be a breakthrough product!

Thank you! We appreciate you watching.
Which would be better if used as the main device for drying music from a hard drive? a6 and a6me? there is a big difference in sound, is there any reason to overpay for 6me?
If you have good speakers and other electronics you should hear the difference. Thanks for watching
But the better clock is only used in analogue out via onboard DAC. So as a streamer only no difference.
Think I will be going with the HiFi Rose 150b
Thanks for sharing.
Even mentioning Bluesound Node disqualified the complete overview.
Why?
No there isn’t a wide black border. It’s edge to edge, it’s a full 6” screen. Always one in the crowd - lol
What would you suggest instead?
Sorry but all of these need power amps. They all have amazing tech and streaming capabilities. So why the F$&K is there no trigger output on the A6s so now all the tech but you need to walk up to the system and turn on the power amps? That's just sad
Very good point.
I do not understand who like to sit near a streamer when listening music… i would prefer a good app for phone or tablet… no screen at all, and a significant price drop?
It comes with a phone app controler and you can buy a remote for $12.
Thats called a bluesound Node. i have an A6 ME with power supply upgrade. If i had to chose between that and my power supply upgraded Node, I'd keep the node purely based on it's sound.
You can use the smart phone app. Thanks for watching
No headphone amp/jack, no buy.
Fair enough. That would be a really great addition.
Sales pitch rather than a review.
Why do you have to talk so fast. Need a bathroom break. For those of us not familiar with some of the features and trying to learn, you’re making it difficult to follow along.
Sorry we were too fast. You can always go into the settings in YT and slow or speed the video up a bit.
Honestly this is a very poor non objective review, sounds so heresy! Moment you say AKM as ‘Velvet Sound’ it’s a frickin marketing term. You should have published the actual measurements with your expert comment. This is just a AA campaign without substance
