@@madds6678 no its not a display. You can adjust the parametric EQ in the A8. I just need to know if it works when the A8 is used just as a streamer and not a dac. I have a better external dac.
I just got a Eversolo DMP - A8 and it sounds harsh! I tried using the parametric EQ and everything that I could find on the unit to try and make it less harsh but it seems that most of it has zero effect. I also watched and listened to TV through it. How do you get this thing to not be so harsh? Thank you.
If your ears are that sensitive, then bite the bullet and get a standalone DAC. You could get an excellent DAC and the A6 for the same price as an A8. Then every other digital source you might have, including bluetooth, will get the benefit.

To the OP. I think that would absolutely stink. That’s basically every other unit out there. This is exactly what makes this thing stick out. It has a real preamp, not just a digital volume control. Besides they can’t please everyone. Nor is everyone able to be pleased. So that’s a fool’s errand anyway. ✌️

If you are developing and / or manufacturing high end hifi products in the west, you have to take into account R&D costs. You also have to take into account reliability, i am still listening to Cyrus amps that are at least 15 years old.
At the time index 3.24 you use it with another component to say it sounds or performs better. This is very early on in a review. This is disconcerting to the original component. As a fan of your reviews, A bit early.
Looks great. Problem is it's nearly 2 grand in 'rip off Britain' and we all just know that within 3 month the competition will respond with a better product and cheaper.
That's TOTALLY true... and is the curse of anyone wanting to buy new technology. If you keep waiting 3 months for the newer cheaper thing, you'll never buy anything.
The vu meters are a different screen option. The album art can show a spectrum analyzer in the background that moves with the music. It’s a very capable product for sure, many options.
I am excited to get one and install the nvme drive, then put my full res DSD files on it. That way I am not using Bluetooth, usb cables etc. Just straight to the amp.
This is not new anymore. Forget about it. Separates are better for the price. But the Gustard X30 seems to be the winner at the moment so better save up to that 🤔

Where is this for sale online. I can't find it anywhere???
Try your local hifi dealer they are advertised here in the uk for £1890 but stock not expected till month end.

So they're available for pre-order at Dreammedia, and Summit HiFi. And probably many other's too. But those were at the top of my search. And they're shipping in December. ✌️
I bought mine at summit hi-fi. They’re in Canada and I’m in the US. No problem. I already have it!
@@alanrichey5745 Nice! How are you liking it? ✌️
Could I transfer my DSD files over to it and play them directly from it? Right now I play them from a desktop computer over usb. I’m assuming that this would be allot less “noise” than a computer. Thank you for your videos.
Yes that works fine. You can transfer to internal SSD (the Crucial P3 works fine / need to buy extra) and you can play DSF or ISO
I wish it would allow more than 4tb though ☹️
Out of curiosity where did you get your DSD files?
Did you compare the rose streamer with the eversolo DMP-A8?
Can you use the equaliser of the A8 when set as a streamer only?
What?
I assume they maybe getting confused with the graphic equaliser & dsp. For the information of @therollerkid, the graphic equaliser is just a display not adjustable although a very nice display but the A8 also has some dsp settings which you can use to adjust the sound to your liking.
@madds6678 it has an adustable parametric eq
@@madds6678 no its not a display. You can adjust the parametric EQ in the A8. I just need to know if it works when the A8 is used just as a streamer and not a dac. I have a better external dac.
Hi! Do you know if a8 supports MQA? MVH/Peter
Can Eversolo A8 play Apple Lossless with the original resolution?
Yes it can using the native app
What about the Lumin U2 mini ver the 8 ?
Tested them both, looking for streaming. The a8 sounded better, yes also as a streamer
Can you use it as a streamer only and still use the dsp/eq?
Yes
Dsp dosent work on analogue connections..... only on digital inputs
I just got a Eversolo DMP - A8 and it sounds harsh!
I tried using the parametric EQ and everything that I could find on the unit to try and make it less harsh but it seems that most of it has zero effect. It seems as if they EQ and sound adjustment does not work. I downloaded Apple Music onto the unit.
It seems some of the Internet radio stations. The high-quality stuff is less harsh. I also watched and listened to TV through it.
How do you get this thing to not be so harsh?
Thank you.
Harsch? I have the a8 and the hifi rose rs130, both sound amazing, neither of them harsch. How did you connect them??
Check the digital filter setting. I like the slow roll off, sounds much better
If your ears are that sensitive, then bite the bullet and get a standalone DAC. You could get an excellent DAC and the A6 for the same price as an A8. Then every other digital source you might have, including bluetooth, will get the benefit.
why don't they make a transport only for those who already have excellent DACS. i would be interested. this is not an audiophile product.
true, it's a HIFI product, not an audioFOOL product.
There are some products out there that are transport only. I have a Lumin U2 which is transport/streamer only with no built in DAC since I already have a Berkeley Audio Reference DAC. Hope this helps.
They probably will but they probably prioritized this due to a larger market for all in ones vs a transport only device
Who decides what’s “audiophile”, and what isn’t? Do they give out certificates for this? Who is the arbiter? If they charged more would it be “audiophile” than? Are you “audiophile”? Am I? ✌️
Check Matrix Element S if you wish.
Hi! Does the A8 support MQA? MVH/Peter
Yes
Roon ready and MQA support?
Roon not, MQA yes
Not "yet" apperently..... ?
Hifi Rose blows this away. Not even close!
Analogue preamplifier?
have you heard both?
Could you please test / compare the Atoll ST300 Signature pre-amp / dac / streamer - here in Europe it is doing rather well in the USD 3’000-class 😊👌
I’m gonna wait for the A16.
But what power amplifier does one use??????
Bought the A6 and connect to a separate DAC. Eversolo can make separate DAC irrelevant.
Depending on the quality of course. ✌️
🦃🍁🦃🍁🦃🍁
Happy Thanksgiving
🍁🦃🍁🦃🍁🦃
compare that to the PS AUDIO perfectwave streamer dac one not two
Stop it. PS Audio is not even close.
NAD c658 is the king in my view. Please test it against this
If Eversolo released a DMP-A8 without the preamp section (so basically a DMP-A6 with HDMI input and the AKM flagship DAC) I’m in
The preamp can be bypassed in the DMP-A6. You wouldn't want to use it anyway!
@@dontcare563 yup! I know, but my point if that if I’m not going to use it, I’d rather not pay for it! :)
To the OP. I think that would absolutely stink. That’s basically every other unit out there. This is exactly what makes this thing stick out. It has a real preamp, not just a digital volume control.
Besides they can’t please everyone. Nor is everyone able to be pleased. So that’s a fool’s errand anyway. ✌️
"Everybody´s hustling"... What a song! :-)
Whitout a doubt
I love my Cambridge Audio CXN-V2 streamer this is the 2023 HI-FI award winner. I’m using it as a preamp running separates.
Incredibly uses a Wolfson DAC from like 100 years ago. Seriously though.. it's the same one that's in my 2011 CA Blu-ray player so I just can't bring myself to pick that up no matter what awards it gets. The DAC makes too much of a difference.
Thanks
There is one big miss: I headphone out/amp😢
Geeks go raspi streamers with tons of hifi os. Symphonic-mpd is undisputed best I've tried: gentoo, volumio, moode audio etc.
As a fan of your reviews,
A bit early.
so whats next? A10?A12? A50? A1000000?
I hope so
As with everything else. Look at tv's for example, every year a new model. Technology is moving fast!
Naim Uniti Atom , DCS Bartok, NAD M33 or M66
M66 should be doing well - awaiting the first serious test 😊
Can you also have the screen just showing the cover artwork from an album Instead of the power meter?
The vu meters are a different screen option. The album art can show a spectrum analyzer in the background that moves with the music. It’s a very capable product for sure, many options.
I am excited to get one and install the nvme drive, then put my full res DSD files on it. That way I am not using Bluetooth, usb cables etc. Just straight to the amp.
This is not new anymore. Forget about it. Separates are better for the price. But the Gustard X30 seems to be the winner at the moment so better save up to that 🤔
They jacked the price of the Pontus so that became more expensive but if you complete a Node Nano or Wiim Ultra with the Ladder Schumann or Cyan 2 or Cayin idac 6 or 8 you are at the same price range 🤔
I think big hifi got to him😂
Its unfortunately that Hifi rose not have a stand alone dac thats match with the RS130
