Since the recording of this review, firmware v1.2.50 has been released and now allows for adjustment of the parametric EQ frequencies so you can customise to your heart's content. Enjoy!
I was watching another audio file person, found you! You definitely went into the depths that’s what I want to know. I appreciate this, others don’t get inside. Thank you.
Thank you for the great & thorough review of the A8. You definitely have me thinking more about a purchase. I also wanted to put in a request for a "how to" video on producing your own convolution filters. Lastly, I am a big fan of your reviews. You seem to listen for and value many of the same things I do when listening to and enjoying music. I watched your short video on reviewers and their acceptance or rejection of equipment and/or money before this video. For me, it really gave me much more insight on your approach to reviewing and showed a side of you as a reviewer that is not often seen from other audio reviewers. It was truly refreshing and added substantially more credibility, honesty, and gravitas to you as a reviewer and your reviews, as well. Thank you for your excellent reviews. They have really helped me on my audio journey.
Thanks for the review, I love my DMP A8 as someone getting back into digital, and upgrading from CD transport and old Weiss DAC2. The A8 is giving me plenty of options to test and learn, whilst producing very nice sound, whilst it may not be the best preamp, coupled with my McCormack DNA 500 power amp, Whatmough and BW 804 speakers gives me plenty to experiment with. Would love to see you produce a video on DSP.
Thank you for another great review. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I am very interested in how to make FIR filters. I'm ordering a Umic-1 now.
Thank you for your honest and balanced review of the A8! Very well done! I own the A6 ME and use my external Musical Fidelity MX-DAC (which imho still sounds better than the internal ME DAC solution). As I suspected, there won't be any advantage in buying an A8 when using it as a streamer only (using USB and thereby bypassing the internal DAC clock chips).
Look inside of them. IF you notice they have similar but Different PS modules then it is too quick to say they sound exactly the same without quantitative SNR, distortion etc. measurements to confirm that. For me, I am buying them to test them as streamer of my 10TB local music lib comparing to using JRiver (which can do professional DSP functions with support of any VST plug-in like emulating tube tones, so far found no streamer on the market can do so) on PC with multiple layers of reclocking, galvanic isolation to external DAC.
That's what I'm wondering . I have a schitt bifrost 2 and I like the way r2r dacs sound so not worried about the internal dac of the a8 unless it's better than what i have
Great video and very extensive description of the features. I own the RME ADI 2 pro for the shear fact of DSP functionality as I require something portable with extensive configarability for my work, ok DMP A8 is biased for home audio but yes the DSP is the game changer for me on room correction alone. Thank you very much indeed for your honesty and opinions.
I would be interested in an A6+ w/o DAC but with high end power supply, with this A8 DSP features and additionally full D2D functionality incl. all digital inputs and outputs. No DAC, no preamp.
Depending on what you need, it can be a nice upgrade. If you're only looking for better sound quality, an external DAC can get you even better gains if you don't mind an extra device in your stack.
Would be great if you can share more insights on: 1. How do you connect Umik 1 microphone and how calibration is done in Ecersolo dmp-a8. 2. Can active subwoofer be pluged via rca at the same time as stereo amp via xlr?
The Umik 1 explanation will come up in my convolution filter video, but you need a separate computer for that part (i.e. you don't connect it to the DMP-A8) As for the active sub, yes, both the XLR and RCA can operate at the same time so you can definitely do that.
Also, I absolutely love that there is a loudness feature. For metal music, getting the v shape in the sound is really important to me, its what I would be trying to do with the PEQ anyway so thats really awesome that its included, with 4 intensity levels to boot. This box is on my very short list for a future upgrade.
That's great to hear from someone who finds the loudness feature useful. I figured there would be certain situations where it is valuable so now I know. Thanks!
As a streamer only . Would the a8 be better sounding due to power supply ect .. I have an external bifrost 2 dac and marantz pm11s3 for preamp . Just want the best streamer to use Apple Music
We need a comparison of the a6 master edition with the upgraded power supply vs this to get an idea what's the best value. The power supply looks fairly similar. Power supply from the denafrips distributor Does it have a sub out?
I'm afraid it's unlikely I'll be getting a Master Edition in. As a pure streamer, I doubt there'll be any difference. If you're using the DAC though, the 4499EX chips in the A8 are a clear step up from any other current 'off-the-shelf' DAC chip I've heard
Great review, thank you. Just ordered (preorder) the A8 yesterday. I would be interested in a video on working with the various aspects of the DSP capabilities in the A8. Thanks again.
Wow what a insane do it all preamp. I am tempted to replace my old parasound P6 in my secondary setup with this to reduce the clutter of multiple boxes.
I have the A23+ and shopping a P6 but lately the used market for any P series Parasound has gone bonkers pricey. I’m using a Sonos second gen connect into a Smsl SU-9 into the A23+ fantastic matching. Always wondered if the P6 would be an improvement🤔
Just upgraded my DMP-A6 master edition with this a teddy pardo outboard linear power supply. No more brightness, more bass weight. Strongly recommend it.
Today I did a massive auditing, a6, a6 master and a8, and I noticed quite the big step up regarding soundstage, at least more noticeble on big speakers. I even went as far throwing a tt2 in the test. What I noticed was a6 master was noticible better than the a6 but just a little. De a8 however had quite a big stage. Then I compared the a8 to the tt2 digital and I noticed the tt2 lost a little of the stage (compared to the a8) but gave smoothness for it back, and a little calmer sound. As a total I found that the a8 was quite a big difference, and even though the tt2 sounded smoother, it was not like 3 times better. (A6 did not have a change in that compare)
I would absolutely love to see a video where you would take us through the proper use of DSP to set-up speakers. I'm really thinking of buying this unit to connect to my powered speakers, and the DSP function is clearly a USP for me thanks!!!
I am making my own deconvolution filters (with help from the Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile on RUclips) for the Roon DSP engine and it has greatly enhanced the sound quality of my systems. I would love to see your process for making filters! 👍
I'm very curious to know what the quality of the preamp is compared to a tubed McIntosh or a tubed Conrad Johnson Act2. If anyone has any idea how they would compare please let me know... My first thoughts are that the Eversolo wouldn't even come close. ?
The moment you add tubes, they're going to have very different character so it's a tough comparison. I'd say the DMP-A8 preamp is ok, but it won't match a dedicated pre-amp of around $1,000-1,500+
What’s the best way to connect a Chord TT2 to this? Through the DAC out port on the Eversolo? Wonder if the preamp in the chord is better than the pre in the Eversolo?
Yes, use one of the digital outputs on the A8 for sure (there actually are no analog inputs on the TT2 anyway). The TT2 is a better DAC and preamp than the A8 so you want the A8 as only a transport.
The DSP stuff sounds awesome. While I could see something like this helping streamline my system, it would be nice if they included a sub out with the DSP feature.
Maybe something like an Anthem MRX 1140 might be a better fit for you? An AIO solution with all the things. Effective tuning that's easy for most general home users to get use from. Or are you using studio gear?
@@StephenMcGregor1986 I was thinking the same thing. I own a Anthen MRX 540 (intended pairing) and think I already have state of the art room correction etc with ARC so the main feature being DSP with the DMP-A8 is kinda useless for me. The more I dig into this unit it is becoming apparent this is "probably" a decent preamp but as a superior streamer/dac its just above entry level which is not what I need for this price. To hear Passion for sound state the Gresseli JNOG with the latest AKM and op amp upgrade has a better sounding dac gave me pause. Another reveiwer states the latest sub $600 Gustard varient sounds better too. This DMP A8 release is turning into real Sh*t show marketing gone off the rails. A6 owners are pissed, the reviewers are calling each other out, 2 reviewers say its the best thing they ever heard under 3K ,2 reviewers say its only true value is as an all in one box and the Sound Quality is meh and you can do better for less $$$. and now this thread. This is not what I was expecting. I am going cancel my pre order I'm not convinced the DMP A8 is what I was hoping for sadly.
I wouldn't go so far as saying the sound quality is meh. I think it sounds wonderful. I just think people need to have fair and reasonable expectations. I also agree that a dedicated subwoofer output would have made sense and to then tie the HPF/LPF to specific outputs which I don't think I saw an option for (but I didn't dive super deep on that)
Stellar review! I own the A6, which I'm only using as a streamer with a phone-sized display and a decent remote control via my smartphone. I running it with the Qutest/SBooster and Wandla as alternative DACs and then the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos amp and power supply. If I upgrade to the A8, it will be to get an upgraded streamer and DSP.
@@trun1979 I don't yet have an answer. I bought the A6 and the A8 to compare the two against each other, as well as to compare their DACs against the Qutest and the Wandla. A/Bing is clumsy, clunky affair. I can tell you that the streamer sounds great. Running it, in pass-through mode, it's really impressive. Both the Qutest and the Wandla were as clear and detailed as I've ever heard them, with fresh artifacts popping out from songs I'd heard for decades. My intent was simply to use one of these devices as a streamer and keep my Qutest and Wandla as external DACs. Considering the Qutest to cost 3X the A6 and the Wandla to cost a thousand more than the A8, all I wanted was the best streamer I could get for less than the price of the HiFi Rose. I also couldn't resist that 6 inch display. The A8 is reputed to have a better DAC because of its AKM chips, though it doesn't hurt that it also comes packed with dual Femto clocks and a hybrid PSU. I started listening to it first and it's incredible. Going back to the A6 (to listen to its DAC) just happened. I'm barely into it even as we speak. All I can say, a few tracks in, is that I'm surprised and dazzled. I don't yet hear anything disappointing. I'm not yet hearing the step down I should be hearing from the lesser sibling in EverSolo's pair of integrated streamer/DAC/amplifier combos.
Thanks for the great review. Any thoughts on further comparisons vs the A6 with the LHY LPS-A6 Linear Power Supply upgrade? Sounds like that might be the way to go when paired with the Geshelli J2S AK4499 to clearly surpass the A8 at a cheaper price.
Quick question. could I use the coaxial out to my DAC(amp, speakers etc) at the same time as RCA analogue out to my subwoofer? thanks for the really good review.
Glad you liked the review! Unfortunately, while you could have both connected and quickly and easily toggle via the app or the touch screen, but they won't both run simultaneously.
I gotta ask :) on 15:00 when you compared with j2s DAC you said that 'they are very very close ' sound wise .. and 20 secs later you said that the j2s is better in a few parameters.. just curious to know if from your point of view they are really more close in comparison sound quality then far that you can hear noticeable upgrade on the j2s . Thanks 🙏
When you get two DACs at a similar level like this, the first impression of them will often be that there's no difference at all. That's because the obvious characteristics like resolution and overall tonal character are about the same. When you listen a bit deeper though, you'll sometimes find that there are differences. In the case of the J2S, the quality of the op-amps in the output stage were helping to improve things like soundstage depth and bass extension/weight IIRC.
Hi. I wonder about this comparison. I know you are a Chord user and enthusiast. I use high-class Sveda Audio active loudspeakers. When I bought the DMP A6, I sold the Chord Qutest. I could remove additional devices from the audio path; The Qutest had no volume control, no XLR outputs, and although it sounded better than the "A6", the instruments did not have their natural mass, they seemed slimmer. The Qutest sounded nicer, had better soundstage and detail, but with the standard "A6" I listened more to the music than what it sounded like. I wonder what "A8" sounds like to your ears compared to the Chord Qutest. Are you able to share your impressions?
Unfortunately, I don't have the Qutest anymore to be able to say. What I know from various experiences though is that the Chord DACs produce more depth in the soundstage. Most chip-based Delta Sigma DACs tend to flatten out the stage which can bring everything forward into more of a wall of sound. This can create that sense of density that you're talking about with the instruments so I imagine it's that that you're preferring. The A8 will sit somewhere between the A6 and the Qutest in that regard because the AK4499EX chips produce more depth, but not as much as the Chord DACs.
I like "analog" playing, where the instruments have their own natural mass and body. From my experience, there was no more air in the presentation of space in Qutes, I had it in the system for 5 years! Qutest had more details; you could listen to every line of the instruments. The message was dynamic, but on the other hand "velvet", this was all a plus. However, it lacked mass and descent. Maybe you need to change the Delta sigma to the R2R DAC, which in the future will become a partner for the "A8", which will be at my place next week. Thank you for your answer. Regards! 🙂@@PassionforSound
Sorry for being impatient. Quick peek looks like plug miniDSP UMIK-1 into REW. Select it as input source. Upload mic calibration file. Position mic at left ear position and run a measurement with long 20 / 20K sweep. Save output file as Left.wav then repeat for right. Then import those files in the A-8 FIR menu? I guess this will give the A-8 the basis to create a filter that's "opposite" of the measurement to theoretically reach a flat response? Thanks for entertaining all of our eager replies.@@PassionforSound
That's the basics of it, yes. The problem I've found with that though is that it's killing the imaging on my Harbeths. Any frequency response adjustment also risks producing timing/phase issues too and I think thats the problem, but I have to do more testing to get it right and be sure of what's going wrong.
Thanks for the detailed review! You are clearly very knowledgable in the technical aspects of the music world as well. I have a Lumin T2 which I use to stream Tidal and use its XLR outputs (internal DAC) into my McIntosh preamp. I'm wondering if the A6 (XLR out) will use its internal DAC and is a suitable replacement for my Lumin. Or is the A8 with its internal DAC a better replacement in my case? Or are the A6 and A8 comparable while using XLR out? Thanks once again.
That's an interesting question and one I can't answer. What I can say is that the 4499EX chip used in the A8 has been preferable to me over any other chip-based DAC I've tried so far. In other words, if those are built around other chips, the A8 is likely better.
If I understood right, the analog input is not converted to digital and send to any of the digital outputs? If not then as pre-amp for a digital/analog combo source system, the DMP-A8 is not an ideal solution in front of digital active loudspeaker.
This is a great review. Seems very fair. I’m curious if the transport only function of the A8 is a noticeable step up from the A6. I have an A6 with a Denafrips Pontus ii connected via USB. Based on this review, I believe my current setup will be better than this setup but I’d be curious for your thoughts. So many people just want a great streamer and already have high quality DACs.
I'd recommend staying with what you have. As the DMP-A6 + Geshelli J2S comparison showed (although I didn't explicitly call it out), the streaming stage via digital output offers no significant benefit of you're using an external DAC.
Im debating between the a8 vs a6+denafrips combo. Are you using the preamp from the a6 with your setup or do you use an external preamp and power amp or integrated amp?
I use either an integrated (Enleum AMP-23R) or pre-amp (Burson Soloist Voyager) and Monoblocks (Burson Timekeeper GT) so I don't use the preamp out from the A6. That said, it's a lossless control at the digital side of things so it's a perfectly good option for a variable output.
Thanks for the great review. I have a Musical Fidelity M5Si going into B&W 704 S2 speakers and wanted to upgrade my digital steamer/DAC from Sonos connect to the Eversolo DMP-A6 but might now save up a bit more for the A8. Would you recommend I also connect my Rotel CD11 player through the Eversolo to take advantage of the DAC?
I’m also curious about the potential lower price and deeper sound stage you mentioned with the combination of the A6 and Geshelli DAC but not sure where I can buy this DAC in Australia
The A8 is definitely the better DAC compared to the one in the A6 so that's a worthwhile consideration. As for the A6 + Geshelli J2S option, you can buy direct from Geshelli unless you're outside a metro city in Australia. You should see options here on their store for shipping direct: bit.ly/J2SAKM
@@PassionforSoundthanks so much for the response. I’ll definitely look into it. What’s your thoughts on whether I should feed my cd player through the Eversolo DAC rather than direct to my M5Si with rca connections?
Without knowing the M5Si specifically, I'd probably suggest going direct to that. There's rarely a value in adding a preamp if you already have volume control
Excellent review I was looking forward to the A8 review as whether to upgrade my A6 master edition the DSP function certainly has me interested but for the moment I’ll keep enjoying the A6 & wait to see if a master edition comes out of the A8.
I would be surprised if we see a Master Edition of the A8 because I have a feeling they've adopted the same components in the A8 as were used in the A6 Master. That said, unless you need the DSP, the jump in price doesn't equate to the jump in performance IMO.
Hello. Today I received my Eversolo DMP-A6. I first had to set the country and time and then do an update. During the update the screen went black. Since then it is black and it says Eversolo in the middle. The light ring on the rotary knob flashes off and on quite slowly. I can't change anything about it. Can you possibly help me?
Fantastic review lanchlan you pretty much covered all of the bases and questions that I had on the onset. You gave it a pretty balanced assessment on functionality and performance. I would lean toward the separates route and personally would choose a stand alone pre amp for my 2 channel and headphone chains. A solid pre amp is a great investment and makes everything in the chain better.
Glad I covered everything needed, Ace! I'm a hug fan of the A8 and it's the centre of my office setup now, but I also agree with the appeal of separates.
It depends a lot on what you're looking for. The A8 has features that the others do not, but if you don't need those features, something like the A6 (particularly the Master Edition) with a quality external DAC can be just as good or better. The WiiMs are also good, but can't match the higher end streamers with a decent DAC.
I have Focal mg headphones. I enjoy detailed sounds with some armless. I am looking for an all in one, easy to use, plug my headphones in and go!! Would you recommend?
I definitely want to learn more about FIR filter. Do we need a computer for the setup? Or we just plugin the mic in to the device itself? Please make a video 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
IIS is the protocol used internally by DACs to transmit data. They use it on some devices as a digital input via the HDMI socket and it often sounds better than other inputs.
Here is my dilemma: I currently like the internal dac in my Hegel H190. Is the dac in the A8 that much better? If not, I had rather buy the a6 master edition and digital out to my Hegel dac. Thoughts?
I can't tell which DAC chip is in the H190. It's an AKM, but unlikely to be the AK4499EX which was only released about a year ago (I think the H190 has been around longer than that, yes?) So, the A8 is likely to be better in terms of depth in the soundstage, but might not be significantly different in other ways.
I am looking for a streamer/dac and am waiting for the DMP-A8 to hit the stores. But up till now I was more aiming for the 3000,- range (with the Auralic altair g1.1, Atoll ST300 or the Naim ND5 XS2). Would the DMP-A8 come close to these or are the 3 mentioned (and other in the 3000,- range) in another league?
I can't compare directly to those as yet, but based on my testing, it probably comes down to whether you need a dedicated streamer or whether you want the built-in DAC, DSP and pre-amp. My test with the DMP-A6 and J2S DAC showed that you might as well just get the DMP-A6 if you're looking for just a streamer. I've got the new Lumin D3 coming in for review soon so hopefully that will give me a good point of comparison to see how a dedicated streamer compares against these do-it-all boxes.
Great review. Question: I own a good amount of multichannel (including SACD, DVD-A & PABD 5.1 channel and other) content and have been looking for a streamer and overall player to manage the library I´ve stored in my NAS through DLNA. Reading the user manual for the A6 and A8, they do state that the A6 handles multichannel through its HDMI out port, whereas the A8 lacks such a port, and instead, it has an IIS out jack that could only be connected to an external DAC with an IIS input port. Am I missing something or it is true that the manufacturers of Eversolo did not include this functionality on the A8?
As far as I know, they didn't include it. I'd actually forgotten the A6 had HDMI too. I don't use multi channel so haven't explored this properly, but I think you have it right.
Just a heads up, there is now a alpha firmware version for the A6 1.2.36 available (I have tested it) has the full EQ and PEQ from the A8, nice job from eversolo
I just want it for the audio visualizer display. Seems like an expensive way to get a spectrum analyzer or vu meters but it's the only option on the market for under $5,000 besides the HiFi Rose. I'm upgrading from my old analog stereo from the 80s and it's been an infuriating shopping experience to find a modern digital hifi system that has a visual display of any sort. I've been shopping for a few years now was almost ready to give up and just keep my old Kenwood 2 channel A/V receiver with EQ, CD player and add some new speakers. Finally I have found a device with digital inputs that I can connect to a newer power amp with newer speakers. It's been about 5 years since I started shopping to upgrade to the new digital age of audio. Finally the industry is bringing back the visualizer. Streaming music is still new to me but the Eversolo is what finally motivated me to take the plunge.
Thanks for the thorough review. You mentioned it won’t function as a USB bridge device converting a usb input signal to a spdif out. I am wondering if it allows the opposite though-convert a spdif input signal to a usb out? Many thanks.
Hmmmm... I don't currently have a DAC connected to the USB socket so perhaps the system is smart and only shows USB when it's connected. If I select optical or coaxial at the moment, it shows the analog outputs and IIS so there's hope. Let me check when I can attach a DAC...
It's hard to be sure, but it looked to me like the A6 Master Edition was almost a prototype of what they planned for the A8 so I don't know if they'll go another step up.
Seems a bit disappointing really. Sounds like you had to ‘imagine’ sound differences that were so subtle as to be negligible. And you didn’t test A6 vs A8 using a high quality external doc, but seems as though there would be minimal difference, thus making A6 the better purchase for this use case.
There was no imagining going on and the test with the J2S tells us all we need to know which is that using an external DAC renders each of these equivalent as streamers only and, therefore, the A6 with a top notch DAC is better than the A8 without an external DAC (unless you need DSP / preamp functionality). If you want a single box solution that sounds great and has lots of functionality, the A8 is pretty hard to go past.
Hello , new subscriber here. Got a link to the geshelli lab DAC? I see one for a lot cheaper than you mentioned but I’m in the US. What DAC chip do you have? Thx
Thanks for the sub! Here's a link to the DAC. You can choose how to spec this DAC from the Geshelli store (at the link). My version used for this video has the Sparkos Labs op-amps and the AK4499EX DAC chip.
I don't use HQ Player anymore so probably not. Sorry! I'd expect it will be the same as most other DACs without a NOS mode in that the sound will still be better.
Hi! It would be really great if you could make tutorial video how to get best out of DSP functions, especially how to successfully use FIR filter option.
Can specific parametric EQs be run for each individual output? As in a a high pass filter for the L&R balanced outputs going to the speakers but a low pass filter for the L&R unbalanced outputs going to the sub(s)?
I also have a Chord DAC, and I tried the DMP-A6, but chose to return it due to among other things the inflexible way of choosing outputs. On the A8, would it be possible to "loop in" the Chord as the DAC? Meaning using one of the digital outputs "always on" but the sending the Chord balanced output back into the A8 and using the preamp there? I also have a turmtable, so I would need both analog inputs. If this was possible I could replace my current preamp... (Sorry, I almost confused myself there...)
LoL. Hopefully EverSolo won't be one of "those" brands. So far they appear to be even-handed in their product development (no new DACs since the Z6 and Z8)
How would it compare to the Topping D70 Octo/ DX9, or Gustard A26 used as a dac and volume control regarding the sound quality? I am looking for a natural sounding dac, so mostly looking for akm dacs.
I think it's probably on par with the OCTO, but a bit different (OCTO is a bit chunkier sounding). I haven't tried the other two DACs you mentioned, but would expect the A26 to be even better based on my experiences with the R26.
Wonderful improvement over the A6, but it lacks an I2s input--especially useful since the A8 has an excellent DAC that one would like to use for other sources.
I'm not sure what you mean about "what's the difference?" but IIS uses an HDMI connection to carry the digital data using the protocol that's used on the inside of DACs. In my experience, it often produces a slightly better sound than other connection types - perhaps due to better noise rejection, the fact that it carries timing data, and/or some other factors I'm unaware of.
due to all the positive and inspiring reviews, including yours Sir, I've ordered one of these. I plan to use it as a pre-amp/streamer going into my Audio Paris A-10 integrated amp. What would you suggest as the best connection method?
Attempt #2 Sorry, that previous reply was rubbish! I shouldn't respond to comments early in the morning when I'm not fully awake. The DMP-A8 will have a better DAC than the A-10 (if it has a DAC onboard) so just take the XLR or RCA outputs from the DMP-A8 and plug those into the A-10. I'd favour the XLR connections if you can, but don't worry if RCA is the only option available on the A-10.
About outputting the digital signal via the IIS connector...will the DSP functionality of the A8 work on the signal before it heads over to an external DAC, or does the signal bypass the DSP altogether?
@@PassionforSound Thanks for responding. I sent an email to Eversolo after posting here, asking specifically if the IIS output signal gets DSP, and here is what they said: Regarding the issue: please kindly note that IIS output has not undergone DSP processing in the A8. Best regards, Eversolo
@@PassionforSound no prob. like everyone here I appreciate all the time and effort you put into doing these vids. and appreciate your straight up reviews. thanks much.
I have a custom tube preamp, dedicated NuPrime DAC, and Wiim Pro streamer. Three boxes which I don’t mind but I do like this since it checks all the boxes including balanced pre-amp. One unit going into my Mark Levinson amp is tempting.
You can connect a sub via RCA and your amp/actives via XLR, but there's no independent volume control for them and I don't think the DSP lets you isolate control by output, but I also didn't dig too deep on that.
Thank you for the excellent review. Another review of the a8, I believe from the British Audiophile, says a preamp was needed for better sound. Wondering your thoughts on that and if you have suggestions for a good power amp (or preamp + power amp or integrated amp) to pair with Eversolo.
I don't do a lot of speaker listening and have higher quality preamps already so I haven't properly tested the preamp on this. I do believe he is correct though. The only integrated amps I can suggest from experience are the Enleum AMP-23R and Linear Tube Audio MZ3, but both are a bit unique and won't suit everyone. Alternatively, a few of the headphone amps I've reviewed are also very good preamps (Burson Soloist GT or Voyager, etc.) but I'm not sure if you also need a headphone amp.
@@PassionforSound Thanks for your answer. So they are both bright then. Not something I wanted to hear as I really dislike the A6s sound signature and hoped the A8 would be warmer with more rolled off highs.
I wouldn't describe either as bright at all. I suspect what's going on here is more about where your reference point lies. If you need a warmer sounding DAC, that's fine. I just want to clarify for anyone else reading this, that the A6 and A8 are not bright in the scheme of things.
@@PassionforSound I have a warm R2R DAC (Rockna Wavelight), I wanted a transport for it and the Eversolo A6 is bright (brighter than my mini pc or a Moon Mind 2 that I also tested), I hoped the A8 would be warmer, but i'm guessing it is not from what you are saying. Again, just as a Transport, not interested in it's DAC.
There's an important question I can't quite find an answer to. I have an Audio Research analog M-Ch preamp that is absolutely state-of-the-art... running an Oppo 205 and now possibly this device. I know it can be done in the A6 but can the A8 disable the internal volume/ volume bypass if you're running it into a preamp that already has a volume control? The AR preamp will blow the doors off anything this offers but I don't see that bypass option on the A8 touch screen which is a big concern. BTW: the people behind the design is from Zidoo, which is their parent company and well known for making some of the best "Android TV boxes". They have a potent Audio PLUS video product called the Neo Alpha that would be great if you could get in review to compare!
There's no bypass option that I've found in the software, but if you max the volume, it should bypass the pre-amp circuit, I believe (that's how I use it). It's unlikely I'll look at the Zidoo gear, I'm afraid, simply because I'm an audio focused channel, but you never know...
I just got a Eversolo DMP - A8 and it sounds harsh! I tried using the parametric EQ and everything that I could find on the unit to try and make it less harsh but it seems that most of it has zero effect. It seems as if they EQ and sound adjustment does not work. I downloaded Apple Music onto the unit. It seems some of the Internet radio stations. The high-quality stuff is less harsh. I also watched and listened to TV through it. How do you get this thing to not be so harsh? Thank you.
Sorry to hear that! What are you comparing it to? What did you come from? As for the EQ, if it's not working, you might not have activated the DSP overall. I think you need to switch that on in addition to setting the EQ settings.
I have tried with zero to little success. Someone should make a series on how to take full advantage of all the features and capabilities of the A8!@@PassionforSound
If I had the time, I'd love to, but to make an instructional video for a single product is hard in amongst all the reviews I have in the queue. Maybe check out some of the forums and see if someone there can guide you through it.
I don't know the CXN v2 so it's hard to say. If the A8 has extra features you'll use (like DSP) then maybe go that way. If not, the DAC is probably the best pure sound quality improvement option.
@PassionforSound that combo is super tempting on the portable side for the new Fiio Q15 but that sucker is as big as my phone and half a LB defeating the purpose of the BTR7 🤭😭
Hey ! Thank you for the review . I have a question.. today I'm with ferrum Erco and gsx mini . I use the Erco with line out to my mini . Do you think I'll have a better result sound wise with the eversolo amp a 8 DAC over the Erco DAC ? I'll really appreciate your help here
That's a tough one to answer because I haven't tried the Erco. Knowing that it uses the ES9028Pro chip, the A8 has the upper hand there with its AK4499EX, but the output stage might be better from the Erco - I don't know. Another key question is how you're feeding the DAC. If you're going to use the streamer stage in the DMP-A8 then that can provide benefits over other sources like USB from a PC or Mac and that could also be in favour of the A8. As I said, it's hard for me to give a clear answer though...
@@PassionforSound Thank you very much for the reply I appreciate it🙏 yeah today I'm with a high quality USB to my DAC . But then again , a streamer ofc is much more convenient but if you say that above all the chip of the eversolo is on the upper hand it make my choice easier .
Hello, With The parametric EQ I can EQ my Headphones to get that Harman Curve (Target frequency response) If I wat to, so that's a really excellent and welcome feature! But the DAC sound quality have to be better for the asking price (After I Heard the comparison with the Geshelli Labs J2S)... Thanks for the important comparison...
The DAC is just one part of 3 or 4 major functions of this device. Judging it for the DAC quality without considering all it does is unreasonable. After all, the J2S can't do volume control, streaming, Bluetooth, or DSP. Both have different purposes.
@@PassionforSound To me it's reasonable because it's one part in the chain, so in this case, I will prefer to buy a seperated DAC, Streamer and Headphones AMP if my number 1 priority is the sound quality. Enjoy
That's always a good choice. Separates will almost always provide better sound quality for the same total cost - they're just less convenient (but worth it IMO).
So much GAS ;). Will the Roon remote control the volume of the DMP A8? Running into power amp at the moment and controlling Node2i output from Roon app. Cheers.
Until the A8 becomes Roon compatible,.I can't be sure. IIRC, it does control the DMP-A6 so, if you're streaming to it (not using it as a preamp) it should do, I think.
@@PassionforSound Hi thanks for response, so is the preamp only for inputs? I understood it like a Preamp that one would use with a poweramp for separates. Thanks.
There is preamp/volume control over all outputs (DAC, streaming, analog inputs). My point was more that there'd be no way to control the volume from Roon when you are using the analog inputs. Sorry for the confusion.
@@PassionforSound all good. And never be sorry ;). I appreciate all the help and work you do here. So I assume it would work the same as the Node2i currently does where I control volume from Roon App. Cheers again!
When you select both RCA and XLR analog outputs it cuts output level on XLR by about a third. None of the SMSL, Topping, RME or Benchmark products do this. Not much volume left at moderate loud level. Would have been nice to know beforehand.
I haven't come across that. That's interesting... I wonder why it does that? If it's leaving you short on volume though, I'd be concerned that what you're running is pushing pretty hard even with the full XLR output levels.
Unfortunately no mention about streamer-only sound, so digital out to external DAC, which is kinda point of A series, and the name "streamer". Even "streamer" section in this video talks about analog outs so using internal DAC:( Too bad, would be cool to compare it to some other streamers like Innuos, Aurender, ...
I don't have the Aurender, Lumin or Innuos products here to compare them with. My comparisons with the DMP-A6 using the internal DAC and external DAC both show that the two perform at the same level as pure streamers. I've also tried the FiiO R7 as a dedicated streamer vs the DMP-A6 and found them comparable. I've got the Lumin D3 coming in for review soon so that will be a chance for a pure streamer comparison.
Eversolo is a sister company of Zidoo who makes some of the best Android boxes around. I always wondered what the difference between ES & Z products were...and it's actually pretty simple. Eversolo is AUDIO Only... so is a streaming device, while Zidoo include the 4K video side. The equivalent to this on the Zidoo (video) side is the Neo Alpha, but at almost 3 grand!
See if you can get your hands on a Zidoo Neo Alpha and I think you'll be blown away. Not only does it have the top-line Sabre 9038 Pro DAC, but it has balanced analog preamp outputs to run directly into an amp, multiple power supplies to handle all the separate components, every quality Bluetooth codec imaginable, split HDMI to optimize audio and video, and some of the best Japanese circuitry with high-end Elna capacitors and such. Oh yeah, and it plays nearly every VIDEO file under the sun. If I didn't already have an Oppo 205 that repeats many of these functions...I would probably get it in a heartbeat.
Very interesting 🧐 and thanks, but for music you still choose the Chord Hugo. So, having the Chord Qutest, I will wait what Chord brings to the table, probably next year at the CES.
Unfortunately, no. You can bend the US plug with a pair of pliers to make it work (it's a 110-240V power supply), but it's obviously not recommended. I imagine it also wouldn't be hard to source a decent AU pin power supply too if you want to avoid using an adapter.
Eversolo didn't wait very long after releasing the A6 before releasing the A6 Master Edition. One of the upgrades in the master edition was an upgrade of the output op amps. If they remain true to their pattern of release there may be a Master Edition of the A8 with better output op amps in the future.
That would be great if they're able to find an op-amp setup to get the most from the DAC stage. As for swapping op-amps, I haven't opened it to have a look, but I believe they're a surface mount op-amp that's used so no easy swapping.
It's all automatic via the touchscreen. You get a notification and can just choose to update and then it downloads before prompting you to click "update" to finalise the install. All very easy.
Sort of. It's very easy to access the DSP settings from the "now playing" screen. That means you can quickly get to the parametric EQ, but it might not be quite as simple to tweak quickly when compared to the Wiim setup.
@@PassionforSoundThank you for the quick reply. I had the EverSolo 6 streamer on order and cancelled it after getting a WiiM mini. The WiiM software experience blew me away, and then the EQ and now PEQ. I then upgraded to the Pro and run it through my PS Audio DAC/Preamp. It simply boggles my mind what these WiiM units can do, and do it so flawlessly. I do run mine off of a linear power supply, which took the WiiM up a few notches in regards to SQ. So miuch, for so little.
Yes. I've just written up my notes on the Wiim range for an upcoming review and they are definitely excellent for those who don't need the extra features of the EverSolo devices (display, balanced out, etc.)
Since the recording of this review, firmware v1.2.50 has been released and now allows for adjustment of the parametric EQ frequencies so you can customise to your heart's content. Enjoy!
How many bands? 5? Does it include the Q value?
10 band PEQ with adj fq points and Q value adj.
Thanks for replying here and apologies that I didn't see the original comment!
What is needed to upgrade firmware?
Yes ! Please show us a guide on convolution filters.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll schedule something in for January.
@@PassionforSoundThanks. Great insight on the DSP and also your comparison with the Geshelli gear.
My pleasure!
I was watching another audio file person, found
you! You definitely went into the depths that’s what I want to know.
I appreciate this, others don’t get inside.
Thank you.
My pleasure. I'm so glad you found my review useful. Thanks for letting me know!
Does your audio file friend offer downloads?
Thanks so much for the feedback! I've scheduled a convolution (and EQ) filter for January and begun researching it. 🙂
It doesn't cover all of the DSP settings, but try this: ruclips.net/video/UYwDTdnWs78/видео.htmlsi=um53UGsVAG7nUZX9
Finally, not just another 'glowing', but an honest not run-of-the-mill review. Thumb up and thanks 🙂
I'm glad you liked the review.

Thank you for another great review. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I am very interested in how to make FIR filters. I'm ordering a Umic-1 now.
Glad you liked it! I've scheduled a convolution filter/FIR video for January. 🙂
Correct! 🙂🙂
I'd gladly be proven wrong of course! That would mean it is worthwile to upgrade. Let the comparing and testing begin 😂
That's what I'm wondering . I have a schitt bifrost 2 and I like the way r2r dacs sound so not worried about the internal dac of the a8 unless it's better than what i have
I'd take the Bifrost 2/64 over the DMP-A8 DAC stage.
My pleasure! I'm glad you liked the review.
I would be interested in an A6+ w/o DAC but with high end power supply, with this A8 DSP features and additionally full D2D functionality incl. all digital inputs and outputs. No DAC, no preamp.
I think you're not alone in that wish. Let's see if EverSolo have anything else up their sleeve... (That's not a hint - I have no idea)
Thank you for reviewing Eversolo A8. I have A6 and am thinking of switching to A8
Depending on what you need, it can be a nice upgrade. If you're only looking for better sound quality, an external DAC can get you even better gains if you don't mind an extra device in your stack.
I have one in the living room. Its really amazing, the quality is so clean!
Incredibly informative and polished review. Thank you so much!
My pleasure. I'm glad you liked it!
Would be great if you can share more insights on:
1. How do you connect Umik 1 microphone and how calibration is done in Ecersolo dmp-a8.
2. Can active subwoofer be pluged via rca at the same time as stereo amp via xlr?
The Umik 1 explanation will come up in my convolution filter video, but you need a separate computer for that part (i.e. you don't connect it to the DMP-A8)
As for the active sub, yes, both the XLR and RCA can operate at the same time so you can definitely do that.
For using REW, you need to connect the mic to the PC and the PC to the DMP-A8.
I would love to learn all about convolution/FIR filters
Will be good with a guide on convolution filters from the A8 - will like to see how good it is vs the minidsp with dirac live.
Yes, a guide for how to compensate for room modes would be great. If there also is a comparison with dirac, then it would be fantastic!
I can't promise a Dirac comparison, but a basic tutorial on creating FIRs for the DMP-A8 (or Roon) I can do. I've scheduled it for January.
@@PassionforSound oh can’t wait 🤗
It might have a VERY slight edge, but it wasn't enough that I noticed a difference in my comparisons so you'd really have to go hunting for it.
We need a comparison of the a6 master edition with the upgraded power supply vs this to get an idea what's the best value. The power supply looks fairly similar. Power supply from the denafrips distributor
Does it have a sub out?
I'm afraid it's unlikely I'll be getting a Master Edition in. As a pure streamer, I doubt there'll be any difference. If you're using the DAC though, the 4499EX chips in the A8 are a clear step up from any other current 'off-the-shelf' DAC chip I've heard
why didnt you compare the digital out of the A8 vs digital of A6 to compare the streaming? No difference?
Yep. No discernible difference so I focussed on other comparisons for the sake of time.
@@PassionforSound thanks!
Could you use the RCA analogue output to a sub while using the XLR outputs to a power amp?
Absolutely! You can choose if both outputs are used at the same time.
Great review, thank you. Just ordered (preorder) the A8 yesterday. I would be interested in a video on working with the various aspects of the DSP capabilities in the A8. Thanks again.
I've got a video coming about how to setup a FIR filter or EQ, but I'll probably stop there on this one. Too many product reviews to get through!
Yes, the DMP-A8 is a very capable, single box solution that also sounds brilliant.
Yes, would like to learn more about your experience with convolution for response correction.
Great! It's already recorded and it's coming soon.
Was just about to check on this. Eager to see it. Ready to dial in my room. Thanks in advance.
Just upgraded my DMP-A6 master edition with this a teddy pardo outboard linear power supply. No more brightness, more bass weight. Strongly recommend it.
Thanks for sharing the suggestion
Did this as well with my Lumin u2 Mini. Did quite a lot to the overall sound quality.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I would absolutely love to see a video where you would take us through the proper use of DSP to set-up speakers. I'm really thinking of buying this unit to connect to my powered speakers, and the DSP function is clearly a USP for me
thanks!!!
It's on the way. Stay tuned towards the end of January 🙂
I am making my own deconvolution filters (with help from the Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile on RUclips) for the Roon DSP engine and it has greatly enhanced the sound quality of my systems. I would love to see your process for making filters! 👍
Sure thing. I'll check out the OCA video too in case I can learn a bit more about it (I suspect I can)
I'm very curious to know what the quality of the preamp is compared to a tubed McIntosh or a tubed Conrad Johnson Act2.
Yep. The A6 is brilliant already for your setup.
How do you rate it as DAC vs the Wandla?
I don't plan to test the power supply for the A6 because I've got too much other gear to get to, but it would likely be a nice addition
@@PassionforSound
I see what you mean .
Thank you 🙏
Will a TV power on/off the DMP A8 via its HDMI ARC input ?
That's a great question, but I can't test that because my TV is ancient!
Thank you
Excited to soak up your pending video on FIR and filters. I need this. Thanks.
I've opened a big can of worms for myself to sift through and research on this one. Buckle up! 😂
Great. Thanks.@@PassionforSound
The A8 has the better DAC so it will outperform the A6 if you're using the XLR outputs. That would be my recommendation.
Thanks you.@@PassionforSound
I found the T2 more analogue/smooth sounding when i demeod bs the a6 (which i found to have a more brittle/digital presentation).
Nice reviews - good job ! I would like to know if the A8 sounds better than RME dac or Cambridge Audio CNX ... thanks
That is correct. The analog inputs go via the R2R volume ladder and then out the analog outputs only.
Hi,
Good review and advice!
Which external cd drive would you recommend to play with DMP-A6
I'm not familiar with all the options available. I have a Pioneer USB CD/DVD/Blu-ray (I think?) drive
@@PassionforSound That's what I call an honest unbiased opinion - thanks

I need to know what the equipment racks are behind you. Please tell!
Those are the Burson Audio Motherships. I've got a review of them here on the channel. ruclips.net/video/Nn95ZL4adwo/видео.htmlsi=imqSxI3UQx0yWg7V
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not able to provide tech support. Please contact your retailer or EverSolo.
Would you either prefer an A6 oder Bluesound Node with external dac or an A8? Or do you think also a Wiim Pro plus with external dac is okay?
It depends a lot on what you're looking for. The A8 has features that the others do not, but if you don't need those features, something like the A6 (particularly the Master Edition) with a quality external DAC can be just as good or better. The WiiMs are also good, but can't match the higher end streamers with a decent DAC.
I have Focal mg headphones. I enjoy detailed sounds with some armless. I am looking for an all in one, easy to use, plug my headphones in and go!! Would you recommend?
I'd look at the EarMen Angel, Chord Mojo 2 and xDuoo XD05 range
I definitely want to learn more about FIR filter. Do we need a computer for the setup? Or we just plugin the mic in to the device itself? Please make a video 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I've got one scheduled for January. You need a computer for the measurements, but not after that.
Thanks for the reply. Looking forward for the tutorial 😊
Hmm, what is IIS?
Is it like the old tape loop functionality of old analog equipment but in digital form???
IIS is the protocol used internally by DACs to transmit data. They use it on some devices as a digital input via the HDMI socket and it often sounds better than other inputs.
Here is my dilemma: I currently like the internal dac in my Hegel H190. Is the dac in the A8 that much better? If not, I had rather buy the a6 master edition and digital out to my Hegel dac. Thoughts?
I can't tell which DAC chip is in the H190. It's an AKM, but unlikely to be the AK4499EX which was only released about a year ago (I think the H190 has been around longer than that, yes?)
So, the A8 is likely to be better in terms of depth in the soundstage, but might not be significantly different in other ways.
Yes. I heard about this recently too. They're excellent with their firmware updates, etc.
The DMP-A6 offers much of the same functionality, including the VU meters, touch screen, etc.
So kind of you to check. Thanks! @@PassionforSound
No problems, but sadly, I have bad news. The USB output is only available when using the internal player for local or streamed files.
I suspected as much, but many thanks for the confirmation. @@PassionforSound
Do you guys think there will be a master edition here too and one should wait?
Any chance you can test whether the hqplayer dsd output to those akm dac chips makes a difference?
I don't use HQ Player anymore so probably not. Sorry! I'd expect it will be the same as most other DACs without a NOS mode in that the sound will still be better.
Hi! It would be really great if you could make tutorial video how to get best out of DSP functions, especially how to successfully use FIR filter option.
I've scheduled it in for January. Stay tuned 🙂
@@PassionforSound Great news, thanks!
Can specific parametric EQs be run for each individual output? As in a a high pass filter for the L&R balanced outputs going to the speakers but a low pass filter for the L&R unbalanced outputs going to the sub(s)?
No, unfortunately not. It's one set of DSP settings across all inputs and outputs. ☹️
Do we know when it's going to be Roon Ready?
No news as yet. I keep checking for it to magically appear in Roon
Haha. Yes, that's a little circuitous! All good though, I understand. Unfortunately, there's no way to make that work with the DMP-A8. ☹️
I'm waiting on the DMP-A10 before deciding on the DMP-A12 and buying the DMP-A14.
I am definitely interested in the "how to" video for the filters.
It's been recorded! 🙂 Editing when I get back from holidays and releasing in January.
Wonderful improvement over the A6, but it lacks an I2s input--especially useful since the A8 has an excellent DAC that one would like to use for other sources.
I agree that an IIS input would have been nice.
@@PassionforSound why ?
Because it's a nice connection to have.
It has IIS? What's the difference?@@PassionforSound
First reply deleted because it was bad advice 🙂
Attempt #2
Sorry, that previous reply was rubbish!
The DSP applies to digital outputs too 🙂. Everything except the pre-amp outputs goes via the DSP (if you use it)
@@PassionforSound Thanks for responding. I sent an email to Eversolo after posting here, asking specifically if the IIS output signal gets DSP, and here is what they said:
Regarding the issue: please kindly note that IIS output has not undergone DSP processing in the A8.
Best regards,
Eversolo
Oh crap! Sorry for the wrong information. I'm so glad you checked. Because the other digital outputs respond to DSP, I figured they all would.
That's what I love about it too!
There doesn’t seem to be a way to connect a sub either through preamp out or a dedicated sub out. Is this correct or is there a way to do it? TIA.
Can the DSP be used when the A8 is set with an external DAC? Also just as a simple transport (with an external DAC) how is the A8 sound vs the A6?
Yes, the DSP can be used before outputting to an external DAC.
As a pure streamer with an external DAC, the A6 and A8 are essentially interchangeable.
So, you're saying that the streaming stage is bright when feeding your Rockna DAC?
Not a huge jump in performance? I had thought so. Thnk u for the eye opening review.
My pleasure. The upgrade is noticeable, but not huge IMO.
theres chance you can hear that way, 3 point difference will guarantee huge improvement, although experienced ears im sure find 1 difference tobe huge
Great review. Thank you! A tutorial on building convolution filters would be fantastic!
Glad you liked it! I've put a convolution filter video in the January schedule 🙂
Try and find one - I surely can’t find a retailer here in the US.

I have a CXN v2 streamer with buitin DAC. To improve sound quality, should i change streamer to A8 or insert a
I don't know the CXN v2 so it's hard to say. If the A8 has extra features you'll use (like DSP) then maybe go that way. If not, the DAC is probably the best pure sound quality improvement option.
Do you peg the streamer at the same level as their standalone DAC? Or would you have a streamer to their DAC, in particular?
I think the DAC in the A8 is superior to the DAC in the Z8 thanks to the new AKM chips in the streamer so I'd just go for the DMP-A8
@PassionforSound that combo is super tempting on the portable side for the new Fiio Q15 but that sucker is as big as my phone and half a LB defeating the purpose of the BTR7 🤭😭
Great review!!!!! Very informative and easy to understand great 👍👍
I'm so glad that you liked it!
@@PassionforSound
Thank you very much for the reply I appreciate it🙏 yeah today I'm with a high quality USB to my DAC . But then again , a streamer ofc is much more convenient but if you say that above all the chip of the eversolo is on the upper hand it make my choice easier .
Yes, I think you'll find the combination of streaming to the DMP-A8 plus the better internal chip, might make it the better overall choice.
Hello,
With The parametric EQ I can EQ my Headphones to get that Harman Curve (Target frequency response) If I wat to, so that's a really excellent and welcome feature!
Lachlan whats a proper upgrade from an smsl a0200? Looking dynamics, better separation and more airy resolution
I haven't done enough reviewing of speaker amps to have that answer just yet. What's your budget?
@@PassionforSoundoh nvm its the h0200! The headphone amp. Budget is 500-1000
The Geshelli Labs A3 Pro is a definite winner in that range. The new Aune S17 Pro might be a good choice too, but I'm yet to try it.
Yes, just like that. 🙂
Can you use it as a streamer only and still use the dsp/eq?
Absolutely!
I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for letting me know!
Very interesting 🧐 and thanks, but for music you still choose the Chord Hugo. So, having the Chord Qutest, I will wait what Chord brings to the table, probably next year at the CES.
It's the Hugo TT2 that I use, not the Hugo (although the Hugo and Qutest are excellent). 🙂
I'm interested in a video with how to correct frequencies with DSP's as the one in the A8. :)
I've scheduled one for January 🙂
Hi Lachlan does Geshelli offer an Australian power plug ? Thanks
Unfortunately, no. You can bend the US plug with a pair of pliers to make it work (it's a 110-240V power supply), but it's obviously not recommended.
I imagine it also wouldn't be hard to source a decent AU pin power supply too if you want to avoid using an adapter.
@@PassionforSound Thanks mate, yes I reckon Jaycar would have something suitable.
Definitely!
Eversolo didn't wait very long after releasing the A6 before releasing the A6 Master Edition. One of the upgrades in the master edition was an upgrade of the output op amps. If they remain true to their pattern of release there may be a Master Edition of the A8 with better output op amps in the future.
Can you remove the op amps, or are they soldered to the board?
That would be great if they're able to find an op-amp setup to get the most from the DAC stage.
As for swapping op-amps, I haven't opened it to have a look, but I believe they're a surface mount op-amp that's used so no easy swapping.
How are software and firmware updates done? Dont wanna buy a Microsoft computer
It's all automatic via the touchscreen. You get a notification and can just choose to update and then it downloads before prompting you to click "update" to finalise the install. All very easy.
Does the EverSolo software offer an EQ like the WiiM software does? Easily accessible from the track that is playing?
