you can win this as the French you know just try to get a simple majority of the provicnes pro French for stability and hold the line in stragic locations like mradrid etc till you get that stability and knock out the Spanish hold on the other side of the country and just wait it out till your strong enough to make decive counter attacks. it is doable for the French just consoliate the front lines and stablise it enough and your good. also taking out Arthur wesely and his starting card force will cripple the britsh for good once you take him out they will be unable to field another force of true effectiveness so speed on taking him out is a must.
@@colonelgridwood4744 dont worry the arthur welsly army will try to take the portugese settlement near the coast of lisbon first and then you can garrison ur troops or can let them have it and move towards ur main garrison one sttlement back

The only moment with seemed good for the french in Spain was when Napoleon came, when he left it (for war with austria, russia and prussia) his generals and his brother couldnt handle the british, portugees and spanish.

MVS Agree with you. The peninsular campaign was a fight of Spaniards and Portuguese people against Frech military power. Great Britain helped of course but it was our war ¡Viva España y Potugal!
That and Creative Assembly is an English company :) Notice they always seem to at least make a cameo appearance if not playable in almost every single Total War game or scenario?
If you look at the statistics Britain and the Empire outstripped Nazi armament production without the U.S or Russia included and lots of men from the Empire. We would have won but it would have taken longer

It is rediculously easy to win as the French. The AI has no idea how to recruit and effectively utilise the guerrilla units on the campaign map.
