Considering that Napoleon was a genius when it came to artillery and the primary reason for his loss at Waterloo was the freaking rain, I'd say the game gets it perfectly right... And Russians, despite their shoddy reputation in those days, had the finest artillery after France. Prussians & Austrians had out-dated models and British artillery was configured to fight in places like India- high volume, high range weapons like rockets & the like.
Napoleon dispite winning the war many time he never accompish his goal to expand france as superpower in europe unlike tokugawa ieyasu in japan he mange accomplish his goal tokugawa ieyasu is cautios and wise his accomplished his goal step by step unlike napoleon he is surronded by enemies without support was faild and exiled as the result
Ah yes year 1805 where the Grande Armee is at it's finest. Full strength divisions, well trained men, skilled officers and talented marshals all alive and well. Napoleon may have been defeated in some battles but no one can defeat the Grande Armee at it's finest.
@@deeznoots6241 that was 1812 where the Grande Armee was not the same effective fighting force as it was in 1805 to 1807. Russia fought it in its prime and got spanked at Austerlitz and Friedland.

Oh man, I may live in America, but lately I have WORSHIPPED this guy. Think about it, he fought 4 superpowers for a decade, and even though he lost, he won much of the war! (just the bad luck winter in Russia).
@Criticallacitirc he didnt actually, he attacked in spring but since Russia was so freaking big and the fact the russians werent the pushovers he thought they were the campaing lasted all the way into the winter. It was more overconfidence than stupidity the french just didnt think they needed winter gear for russia, didnt think they would be there that long. oops :)
@9999freedom Ahh you're right! I mistook part of the Low Countries as Prussian as well x3. Most likely since I control that area whenever I'm Prussia. Thanks for the correction!
Well yea you were talking about the artillery in the game but it is accurate how powerful they were. If your army had a lot of artillery it was going to be more powerful than one without it.
napoleon was famous for using mass artillery fire to win battles. It kinda bit him in the back at the end. He would of attacked sooner at waterloo and might of won if it wasnt for his artillery getting stuck in the mud and delaying him by a day
@opiphx Same, an American who is irritated that no one else knows the glory of Napoleon. Our fellow Americans think the french "lose every war" pushovers, that kind of thing. They are gravely mistaken.
When i saw how few regions the map actually had i felt bad as a tabletop wargamer. That campaign map should have been far more detailed, still it's a step up from ETW 🤣🤣

Man, the voice of the narrator got me. So admired to Napoleon, so beautiful and enthusiastic in his voice.
The narrator is supposed to be Napoleon's aide de camp, Louis Alexandre Berthier. I'll say the voice actor did the job very well.
Napoleon, One name, One legend.
All hail the Emperor Napoleon
Un pays. ✊🏻🇫🇷

redtihor1 I wouldn't say it was 100 percent the rain, granted he probably would have won without rain

Rain was one of many reasons. Other one was e.g. disobedience from general Grouchy, who didn't stop the Prussians.

Have you got a better computer now?
9 years buddy, 9 years

Back when they put thought and effort into the Total War cutscenes.
Probably part of the reason so many of them are now losing their jobs at CA. Just not the one's who are responsible.
