Now that all the Arkham Knight DLC is here, we though it was time to finish off some more "Character Stories" where we focus on only one character in the Batman games. This shows Bane's story throughout the entire Arkham series
Bane was raised inside the horrific environs of a Santa Prisca prison. Finding solace in smuggled books and meditation, he developed incredible powers of concentration. When he was subjected to military experiments with the experimental steroid known as Venom, his iron-forged will helped him survive where other test subjects had died, and he managed to escape becoming a freelance assassin.

Origins did Bane right in my opinion. They got the Venom addiction, the intimidation factor, the raw power, and the powerful intelligence of Bane. Essentially they got everything that Bane is in the comics into that game. Shame Asylum and City didn't get that right.
That's because he used too much venom, It damaged his brain and memory, That why's he's different in the first two games.
Joshua Seagondollar all tho the design of both bane and croc is better in city and in asylum.
The Joker Whatever reason there is, it's still a bad choice to make Bane into a villain like that. If you have an intelligent, ruthless and immensely strong villain, then it's probably a bad idea to turn him into a total idiot who's only tactic is charging directly at his enemy, despite it never working and resulting in him slamming his head against a wall.
Arkham origins explained how Bane ended up being an amnesiac who is now all-brawns and maybe no brains and at some point probably the first villain to deduce Batman’s identity
Lightningbeatz
Nope bane looks way better in origins
When this version of Bane even intimidates the Joker for a split second (2:55) you know you've done a fine job with the material and are doing the character justice.
Andrew Heard joker literally looks at him and is like well dam big guy
You absolutely correct, I can read people... Joker is definitely intimidated by him, he just good at hiding it....
Oooh,yeah...
@Jordan Joestar jajajaja
When your assassin has the balls to just object to you like that, especially when he's big, skilled and has a well armed merc army, yeah its quite surprising and intimidating.
Y’all notice how bane says you have one minute at 4:02 and he comes back at 5:02 Bane is a man of his word
Lmaooo he was busting Batman ass
@@rahjagul3609 duh Bane’s a big guy
@@Raul-wd1jb don’t say “DUH” as if him being big was the reason. It was his strength, skill, and resiliency, not his size that beat the Bat
@@rahjagul3609 I know I’m just saying what some people said to bane you’re a big guy
@@rahjagul3609Someone get this hothead out of here!
Arkham Origins Bane before the change is the best version done...if he ever makes another big screen appearance this is the Bane I want to see
Tadicuslegion78 I totally agree
At least we got another cool take on Bane in the Telltale Batman series. Even better that he had the same voice actor as in Origins :)
Stop trying to make Bane into this mastermind, there are plenty of those in Gotham.
Videl San this bañe is based from the comic book.... He always Bernardo this intellagent..
Videl San that is how he is in the comics that's just how he is
Arkham Origins for sure did all the villains right, great designs as well
Jacob Salas Personally I don't agree. Some of them are good, but not many.
Xander M he's right
How do you mean, though?
Xander M Jade Ingels maybe not all of them are a hit and are inaccurate (Electricutioner, Copperhead and Croc) but most of them to me are very accurate (Lady Shiva, Firefly, Deathstroke and Deadshot) though I do have a problem with how long they were in the game for. But this interpretation of Bane is my favorite, I prefer AO Bane over 9ft tall mutated Bane in Arkham Asylum or Injustice and every live action Bane we've seen. Bane was haunted by a bat when he was a child in prison and wants the Bat dead so he'll find peace and this is the only time that motivation is made clear to the audience. He also figures out who the Batman cause he is smart and resourceful. I also love how they depicted Joker in this because Joker really does feel like he has no limits and throughout the game you get the idea of how scared Batman is because he's never faced anything like this.
Also for me the voice acting for Bane and Joker are perfect. If Mark Hamill does decide not to voice The Joker anymore I want Troy Baker to take over because it really was spot on, and to me there is no better Bane, I enjoyed JB Blanc (I think is the name) more than Fred T..
He's a big guy.

The Dark Knight Rises and Arkham Origins portray the best Banes. Strong, big, but also smart.
@@invisibleman240 naw TDKR Bane was trash.
Tom Hardy certainly gave Bane what I would consider the definitive voice.
@@RikoJAmado lol hell naw
@@OOTD_ Okay, I really didn't want to but it looks like I'll have to. Long post ahead. So the reason I think Tom Hardy's Bane is the best to date is because in comparison to prior portrayals, it is!
In the 90s Batman:TAS and in the Batman & Robin, how is he portrayed? Basically, a big dumb wrestler on steroids who wears a luchador mask and wife-beater shirt, with the lamest most expoitable weakness possible: a pair of tubes that stick out of his neck. A weakness exploited in this very video! In the comics, yes he is portrayed as being much more intelligent but primarily still a brute who snaps the Bat in two.
So when I first heard that Bane would be the villain for TDKR, I thought, "really? That's their follow up to Heath Ledger's Joker?" But Hardy completely knocked it out of the ballpark. The jacket, the respirator mask, the voice. The fact that he doesn't inflate and deflate like a birthday balloon. He is just naturally muscular, if asthmatic. And that opening line, "No one cared who I was till I put on the mask."
So to see the version in Arkham try to keep the TDKR personality but go back to the wrestler with steroid tubes look and without the voice is just kind of...meh.
@@RikoJAmado Only good thing about Tom Hardy Bane was his intellect. His look, height, and voice was trash. Bane should have a South American accent. I would say go look at Bane from Injustice 2. That's an awesome Bane and more faithful to the source material.
It's actually kind of sad, with each following game he became less and less intimidating and cool. He was literally the best villain in Origins but that thing in City was downright pitiful :/
Dark Angel but the Main comment was talking like he thought origins came first
Огнян Станчев The best villain in Arkham Origins is Deathstroke. I love his armor and fighting style.
Batman literally locks him in a closet haha
you guys must be joking right? The best villain in Arkham Origins was the Electrocutioner.
@Viper Hareous Origins is a reboot, its not connected to the other arkham games.
Went from being amazing mercenary to being stopped by a single gate.
Ikr?! Fucking waste of an amazing villian
Actually it’s origins to city, so it’s actually from being stopped by a single gate to being an amazing mercenary
@@jbardouc808 rather, it improved
@@carbondieinside1066 What? You said origins to city and this is origins and city is where he gets stopped by a gate 😂
@@carbondieinside1066 You... you literally went from pointing it being forwards to backwards.
I love when Bane stands up and you remember this is still an inexperienced Joker, who doesn’t look all that confident as Bane approaches him.
I wish Bane's story had some more finality to it, but we couldn't resist doing Bane, he was so epic in Arkham Origins specifically. Hope you guys enjoy!
Never realized his story was so short until this video lol
Actually in the comics that take place before arkham knight. The arkham knight actually ended up killing bane, sad but it is the finality to his story, I know it wasn't in the games but you shouldve included it in the video
+Alvaro Hernandez In Arkham Knight, Bane isn't actually dead. When you find his mask as one of Riddler's riddles, the Gotham City Story behind it says that he went back to Santa Prisca to get rid of the warlords there & to tear down the prison that was his home. Also, in his evidence locker at GCPD, Cash says that he went away to deal with his TITAN withdrawal as well & he wasn't going to be happy when he comes back.
+Felix De La Cruz cash was only speculating, the comic is canon and the arkham knight did pump banes full of lead, threw a propane tank at him, and slit his throat.
+Alvaro Hernandez *banes head

I never realized until now that payaso means clown in Spanish
Also clown is actually ”Pajas” in swedish! But most swedish people still say clown.
Lmao
I don't speak despacito too
In Turkish, a clown is called "palyaço". It's quite similar to payaso. You can put it in google translate if you want the pronunciation.
If you speak three languages you're trilingual, if you speak two languages you're bilingual, if you speak one language you're american.
I never got how bane , in arkham city, the guy who can kill multiple people with a single strike, needed batmans help to defeat some regular thugs and also couldnt break out of a measly metal shutter door??!
He is strong, but isnt that strong. He would require his TN-1 venom to break down a metal door.
Max Ford Bane is strong enough to break down that door if he can rip apart concrete walls, I'm pretty sure he can break down a metal gate.
If you paid attention during that fight, you'll notice how bane was hitting batman on purpose while acting like he was helping batman fight. He just used batman to gather what was left of the titan and then his end goal was to try and kill batman. He had all of that planned.
We don't see this in the Arkham City video game but Bane does manage to get out from the cell and have a final fight with Batman which was shown in the Arkham Knight comic book
I agree but that was Arkham asylum not city
2:58 I like how when Bane first stands up, you can see a little fear cross jokers face but he then composes himself(if you can call him "composed") ,adds a little more depth to Jokers character
I love how Bane completely dominates Joker and puts him in his place. Joker tried to laugh it off but you can tell Bane was in control in that scene.
I like how Bane isn’t just some strong guy he’s actually really intelligent and so intelligent that he even found out who Batman was
Yeah!

In the Arkham games we have both the best and worse version of Bane.
Nah. As bad as Bane is done in Arkham City, it’s still much better than in Batman & Robin lol.
@@iNostraD Agreed 👍
@@iNostraD yes sure, Bane in Batman & Robin he can survive falling off of a 15 story building but can't take a pipe to the head.
That's what Venom does to ya
i like the way, origins made him seems like the knightful bane from the comics and then after TN-1 explains how he became the hulking brute we found in Asylum and city
in my opinion origins had the best boss fights, city had the best story, and knight had the best combat and red hood, I guess what makes asylum good is that it was the first arkham. they are all good games
ODST Hall Exactly how i feel about the Arkham series
ODST Hall I think the words you're looking for to describe Arkham Asylum is, "It was the one that set the standard." But I couldn't agree with you more about your descriptions of the other three. Origins definitely had the best boss fights. Many of Knight's boss battles relied too much on Batmobile combat, and for City, the only super memorable boss battles were Clayface and Mr. Freeze. City definitely had the best story going for it, and Knight's combat system was absolutely off the charts!
Asylum was the most classic batman out of them all.
Asylum had the best atmosphere
Manalorian of Marvel True but Batman Arkham Origins is the best.
2:51 IMO, some of the best-ever interplay between Joker and Bane can be found in this little scene.
You don't say "no" to the Joker, but Bane does it anyway. Then he stands and looms over Joker like the shadow of Mt. friggin' Everest, but Joker, apeshit crazy as ever, just shuts down his bad vibes with a smile. Great stuff.
A lot of villains is intimidated by joker's brutality and unpredictibility. Bane was not one of them.
28:07 I felt kinda bad for Bane when he said "Please!" A villain that uses manners is quite rare.
Ya your right about that
"OOOOOOOkay....I'll just blow up THREE."
The dude‘s got an addiction

What I love about this version of Bane is that he’s an intelligent, powerful, and fearless criminal mastermind and not just some mindless beast. The only time babe should be acting like a big monster is when overdosed on venom.
@palolo381
I didn’t notice that typo, but I’m gonna keep it because it’s funny
I love how psychotic the Joker looks and how charismatic he is in this game! No one can replace Hamill, but the voice actor kills it too!

Joker is the same VA as Joel from the last of us !!! It’s crazy
@@Batt-man Yeah, he also voiced Two-Face in Origins/Knight, Robin and Nightwing in City and even Jason Todd/Arkham Knight/Red Hood in Knight.

Andrae Coleman Deathstroke and Joker are my favorite characters. I LOVE them.
Andrae Coleman Deathstroke was a pain in the ass for me to beat

Electrocutioner is the best villain in Origins.
Chronologically speaking, if there's any character that went through the trope of "badass decay," it was Bane.
25:05 Something about Bane's reaction makes me not trust him.
I personally like the contrast in Bane’s depictions. It really shows the toll that titan has taken on him. Seeing him as an aggressive lug head in the beginning and then being able to see the intelligent man before really shows gamers just how serious titan is.
Bane is the only reason I can't finish Origins
Dennis Fueru the last bane boss fight with tn-1 is scary af

How the fuck? Thats like, not that much of a boss fight. It’s like the second boss fight in the game. Because of course Electrocutioner is the 1.5 boss fight.
Wow, Bane is so terrifying and immense!
Wow the Bane and Joker in Arkham Origins is way better than the Bane and Joker in Asylum
No
Original is always the best
Bane is better in origins but not the Joker
og Crackshot
Nope
Oh yeah yeah
Even the joker is better you only say that because he wasn’t voiced by Mark Hamiil
Arkham Origins is probably the most accurate version of Bane I've seen outside of the comics.
In Arkham Knight there's an epilogue that shows Bane headed back to Santa Prisca and started cleaning up the country. In the comics he also did that for some time. He even accomplished things like weakening the grip foreign business interests had in the country and helped bring about democratic elections. I like that take on Bane, it feels like a natural evolution of the character. He was originally conceived as a dark twisted version of Bruce Wayne. But for Bane, what left him an orphan was not criminals but the government and justice system. Thus, it makes sense he would eventually turn his attention towards changing an entire country.
I love the last bit. Bane is strong enough to break through buildings... but is stopped by a gate? Lol

Arkham Origins Bane is the best Bane out of all the other Arkham games, so awesome
Arkham origins has the best bane I've ever seen... Not only has the Braun but also a brain the size of Texas.. He figured out who batman is on his own... None of the villains in the series has done that. Well done, to me he was the best part of the game
Bane was easily the best part of this game. Everything about him is just so perfect and stays true to his character. This is definitely one of the best, if not THE best interpretation of the character we’ve ever gotten in any media.
Gordon: I'm not a rookie, I can handle myself
Also Gordon: Gets captured by villains several times throughout the series.

Bane is a super intelligent DC villain. He spent his whole life in prison since he was a little kid reading all kinds books and also learning a bunch of different languages and martial arts. He’s not just some big dude with super strength. Arkham Origins portrayal of Bane was perfect. Asylum and City made Bane a joke.

Bane was so much better in this game. Asylum just turned him into a dumb brute(which I guess was due to the Titan) but here they made him much closer to the comic version, he's both intimidating and highly intelligent
I know it’s not Mark Hamill in Arkham Origins, but the voice is still a really good Joker.
Rocksteady does not know how to do Bane right
Bane was done well in Arkham Origins. :|

zXSEBOXz This is the best bane, one of them at least. Before he turns into the hulk I mean.we've gotten
They did him fine is why they made origin to explain things aswell as the comics
Origins had the best bane by far. But the reason he was so big and hulking in asylum and city was because they needed to make him seem addicted to it. Still don't get why after injecting titan, yes TITAN he still couldn't break the bars!!?? 😐😐😂😂😑😑😑
fighting bane was always the scariest cillian to fight on the Arkham games, just the thought of someone so strong hunting u down is terrifying.
Interesting point to note; when 'Black Mask' turns around at 1:13, not only can you hear The Joker's laugh, but if you look carefully, you can actually see his hair underneath the mask for a moment. Clever.
Yeah, but at that point player was already introduced to joker pretending to be black mask, so... They did not try to hide it at that point.
Y'all don't know how much I love the fact that Bane, the staple muscle-bound brute in Batman's Rogues Gallery, could easily find out Batman's secret identity before the whiny and narcissistic Riddler who never came close
everytime I heard Gordon talk in Arkham Origins, all I heard was Jarl Balgruuf
How the hell would he find peace with Batmans death??
Jeffrey Sockenbart Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up for me
Zatharos read Knightfall
Jeffrey Sockenbart I promise
Zatharos in the comics bane saw a vision of fear as a bat while in prison so thats why he was training his whole life to fight batman
Zatharos read
I hated Bane's excuse to use his super venom.
He had Batman by his throat, there was absolutely no reason for him to use that super venom besides the plot requiring him to forget Batmans identity.
I understand why they needed to mutate him for the sake of having him match his older models in the previous series titles. But really, why not let the Joker shoot Bane with a tranquilizer dart with his super venom?
Up until that one moment, Bane did something stupid. He had batman by the throat, and his line of thought was 'I need to use this super venom, even though in my audio logs I know it is not perfect and causes brain damage to the memory section of the brain.'
that venom didnt lose hes memory, it was the electric at end of fight
Niklas Nikkanen That is incorrect.
When Batman infiltrates the base of bane and looks through Banes research data regarding the new venom formula he says and I quote "Impressive work, but it looks like Bane hasn't found a way to counter the damaging side effects this compound has on the brains memory centers."
Yes I agree that was a ridiculous plot point. They should've thought up a way for Bane to have got frustrated... some way for Batman to nearly escape in order to force Bane to make a reckless move. Not having Batman by the throat.
Bane used the T-N1 at the end of arkham origins because batman ripped the tubes out of banes venom pack when he was unconscious so he was weak.
The Mad Hatter he lifted batman off the ground with an outstretched arm. Batman was wearing tons of shit, and Bane casually grabs him by the throat and lifts him above his own head. Does'nt seem weak to me.
*Big Guy for you*
Tell me about Bane!!! Why does he wear the mask?!
Ahhhhhhh. .

I was born in it
Molded by it
When bane was holding Batman near the window I thought he was going to perform "BREAK THE BAT" trick
I was stuck on this boss battle for over 3 months until I found out I was doing it all wrong
From the time-line aspect, They've basically reduced him from the monster that scared joker to this fat guy crying for batman to let him out of a simple room with some bars in front of it...
Yeah he should have been one of the main villians in city.
I like how Batman and Bane can be evenly matched and how they can both overpower each other. I wish other Arkham games and not just Origins presented that.

14:20 - I want someone to make a supercut of all the times Batman's been in a hostage situation and told the villain to let the hostage go. Then throw in a counter to see how many times it's worked. When the Joker lets Rachel "go" in The Dark Knight is about the only time I can remember this brilliant strategy of Batman's working (technically)
15:30 Bane sure as hell doesn't look alive with that beam sticking through his head.
Origins Bane was the best in the series and story wise it makes sense. In the beginning he wasn't just strong but also smart unfortunately after losing to Batman he resorted to using TN-1 which was basically the prototype titan formula. This caused him to have memory loss and lower his mental capacity turning him more into a brute then anything. Then after Arkhams events, being drained and used as an experiment, it pushed him into using venom even more becoming addicted to it along with trying to get titan again. He basically became nothing but a drug addict and it's kind of sad considering he's normally one of the top villians in Batmans roster.
Batman gets picked up
Batman: ah shit here we go again
I'm surprised Bane manages to retain his intelligence with all that Venom he injects into himself.
Bane is one of the few villain’s that use martial arts to fight Batman instead of weapons.
