I know it uses USB c but I wasn't sure if you can charge easily while it's in the kickstand. I only presume not because the USB port is on the bottom and the cable wouldn't fit due to the bottom edge really low to the table.
I'd be more generous. I think it'll do really well in Japan, where people don't spend very much time at home. I expect it to reach 3DS sales eventually, at least if Nintendo launch a Switch Mini that fits in your pocket someday.
IAmThe GameBoy I doubt it's going to have Wii sales , but it will come closely to PS4 sales which are about 50 mill now , and it might surpass Xbox sales
I've just thought about it and I think the first game that I might download is 1-2 switch, because if you think about it, you can be playing a really good physical game (say, Zelda) on the go and suddenly you meet your friend randomly and you want to play together, if you didn't have another cartridge on you then that would be really annoying, but if it's downloaded it can be done anywhere at anytime.
It's a bit stupid to download games that are available on cartridges, especially when you only have 32GB memory, minus what the OS takes up. It doesn't matter if you can delete them, or buy an SD card... the fact is, cartridges are fucking awesome!
Good point, but if you're taking it on the go, you will most likely need a case for it since it can't really fit into a pocket like a 3DS would. And most cases should have little game card slots so it shouldn't be too much of a problem
Thank you for mentioning why the kickstand feels flimsy. A lot of people that reviewed the console don't understand that it's designed to pop out easily in case of an accident.
Looking back at how systems like SNES and Genesis were so different in terms of control layout/content/etc, I'd love for Switch to succeed in creating that level of distinction between platforms again. Only so many boxes can try to do the exact same thing with some UI differences, so it would be nice for Nintendo to bring that contrast back.
I'm so happy the Switch is getting such good reviews. Minus the battery life, and some people having the Left JoyCon desync from time to time, the pros for this console seem to be more then enough to overlook a couple of flaws (desync should hopefully be fixed with the day one update). As for the battery, as has been mentioned by many people; battery packs solve that issue easily. Plus with Breath of the Wild receiving two perfect scores so far, both from magazines that rarely give out perfect scores, the Switch is shaping up to be one hell of a console. Nintendo might not be competing in graphics and power (a battle I don't think they will ever win, at least in terms of a home console), but they have once again won the war in terms of making something enjoyable (which, you know...is the whole point of video games).
I will definitely be waiting in line tomorrow night after work for the midnight launch at GameStop. Looking forward to getting it in my hands Lord willing!

Everything looks good except I just can't understand why Nintendo put such a cheap flimsy kickstand on the Switch. I think I will be using it in tabletop mode quite a bit... might need to invest in the HORI stand. That looks legit.

Still hard to believe BoTW looks to usurp OoT as GoAT (based on early reviews) but hyped they finally pulled it off. I loved the Wii U era more than I thought I would but now Nintendo fans have something to be proud of again.
I'm not buying the Switch until there are actual games to play on it. I'm going to finish BotW in a week and have to wait 'till the end of April for MK 8, then wait another month or two for Splatoon 2, then wait almost 6 months to buy Sonic '17 and Super Mario Odyssey, which are the 2 games that I want the most. I'll just wait to ask for it for Christmas
Considering the majority of games that made creative use of the touch screens on the DS and 3DS are made possible by use of a stylus instead of your chunky, inaccurate finger covering much of the view, a capacitive screen isn't exactly what I'd call a direct upgrade from the perspective of gameplay. Though you could possibly get the best of both worlds with a more expensive stylus that relays it's position to the device, like with drawing tablets. However, that probably requires it to be much bigger
I love the idea of the Nintendo switch, as Nintendo products usually are its based on a cool new idea, it seems throughout the history of gaming Nintendo's has always taken these risks, whereas Xbox and PlayStation follow along and copy there new ideas, I'm a PC Gamer myself but I've always loved Nintendo's handheld systems, and this looks really interesting as I can use it wherever I want including on my TV with very minimal effort.

A "hardcore" gamer (notice the quotation marks to signify sarcasm) looks at the switch's power, battery life, and hard drive space and laughs, pees themselves a little bit and then goes back to their $150 elite/pc/custom built controller. All that being said... I FUCKING NEED THIS THING IN MY LIFE, I know it's kinda stupid to get this thing before Christmas, but damn this thing seems life changing.

Once this install base is established then during the holiday season you have a massive blowout with big games like Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, and hell even Pokemon to truly get the Switch in the light of the mainstream audience who dont have to compete with the hardcore for sales and thus release big AAA 3rd party games to appeal to them. To shorten it I think the Switch's launch in March is for the hardcore fans, and E3 and the holiday season will definitely be the deal breakers or deal makers for non Nintendo fans.
