The Volvo isn’t safer in any way. The fact that it didn’t compress at all is not very positive. If the Volvo would be safer it wouldn’t have bent that tow hook, instead the front of the car would’ve compressed
If it would be V70 intead Saab it would look the same😂 No big deal. Saab slight under the Volvo and get the whole impact above front bumper. It looks bad but frame and construction are ok. New hood, lights, radiators, fenders and front frame and it will be like new. Its the same in every car in the same colision but under the XC70 bumpers there is a lot of plastic absorbers to take the impact. Also I would check a floor in the trunk. It can be damaged.
Great car. But judging from the exhaust damage better ensure mechanic check yr exhaust manifold and turbo. I had been rear ended before but didn't realise manifold slightly leaking. Only months later realised this as power loss getting worse. Couldn't claim as only later realise. Better check it as it's costly
@@ef1631 no rear isn't a really crumple zone douche. They are really hard at the rear to prevent fuel tank damage. No what what car it is always the one that rearends will be damaged the most
Man i was a ford fan till i discovered volvo. i have an xc90 2.5 t awd gasoline and i'm in love with it. it's my precious :)) i can go everywhere with it. VOLVO FOR LIFE.
both are 9-5's 1 is a Combi other is a Sedan. and the damge to the saab is because that bumber is hard and it's soft just in that spot. as that is the radiator mount. not a crash beam.

My friends dad died in a volvo. Compaction crash from semi trucks in the front and rear crushed the sedan and left son alive. I love my volvo but never overestimate it compared to other cars.
This is what rear bumpers are made for, if it was volvo behind, then probably hood would be crumbled aswell it also depends how high is the car infront. Looking at saab it mostly went under the xc70 rear bumper bc of its slender front design :D
