I added cruise control to my 2001 2500hd by simply removing the existing multi-function (turn signal/ high beam/ wiper) switch with one that had the cruise control button. Direct swap, no extra wires or anything. Works great and the "CRUISE" light on the instrument display is even there already! Thanks Obama!
Hi Whitt! - Great video! was looking for how to access the ECM and remove that cover. This vid was perfect. Question - What front grill and bumper do/did you have on that truck? I want a black grill and bumper and I'm having a heck of a time finding one for my 2001 gmc lb7.
My high idle just randomly stopped working . Where would u look first : I have a toggle switch under dash to engage it . The wire is in good on ecm for the idle . Maybe look at the switch ??
Defiantly future mod to my 2002 2500hd. Great write up and video. Thanks for the lesson. How about a good upgrade mod to the cheesy auxiliary driving lights. Mine suck.

you miss one little thing on the tools need it to do the job and is diaelectric grease mainly if you live on a place where salt is use on the roads it will save you alot of headches

No shot I just found an old Wyatt now boosted boi video just by chance trying to instal a high idle switch.

what would happen if you did not use the switch? and just put it on the keyed power? would cruise still work on the hwy?
