      Oooooo thats interesting. I haven't herd that one before. I would definitely double check your fuses. But if I had to guess, im wondering if you got a bad board, and it caused issues with your headlight switch. If there are no bad fuses, I'd try replacing the headlight switch (that in conjunction with the dash light sensor, they control the auto feature) that would be my best guess. The marine corps side of me is more formal and straight to the point, which is why half my videos are "how-to" videos. I'm slowly starting to relax, and trying to get a little more comedy in there. I should be putting the coilovers on this weekend, so stay tuned for that. Thanks for the support! 🤘

I'm excited to see what the coilovers will be all about. I've got a dnj drop kit on mine and I like it, but I sometimes wish I had that stiffer, racier ride. The dnj kit uses stock springs and replaces the upper and lower control arms

    I used one of the motherboards from Amazon. Not the fancy one you used but was supposed to do the same. I have all hid lights in front but for them to work correctly in my truck I had to reverse the polarity on the low beams from the ballasts. Now my fog lights will stay on with high beams but i still lose my low beams and id love to throw my drls in the mix but I might melt some retinas. Any ideas why I can't get highs and lows to cooperate? Is it the reversed polarity ? Thanks in advanced

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. Honestly I think its the mother board you got, is the issue. You shouldn't have to switch polarities on your lights. I'd switch it back to normal, and try the fancy motherboard or try the diodes. With the diodes you can throw the DRL in there as well

With a cap over the sensor during the day, the lows come on, but when I hit high, lows and DRLs come on as planned. What in heck am I doing wrong? fixing to open the fuse box and clip the auto circuit from the DRLs relay and have it my way. I don't want them running during the day anyways.

      Hey, sorry for the late reply! Honestly not sure what is going on with your light setup, did it do this before you put the diode in? I'm wondering if it was a bad light sensor, causing them to come on at the wrong times. Now with the Amazon board, do all the lights come on when in low beam and only all lights come on in high?

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  3 года назад +2

      So with the low beam on, you can turn your fog light on and off whenever. When you turn the highs on, it also keeps the low on, and turns the fog lights on at the same time. When you turn the brights off, the high beam and fog lights turn off.

  • @Yukonjackman1
    @Yukonjackman1 Год назад

    Why not just run a separate relay and trigger the the relay off the high beams sure its easy but is the wire installed at the factory ment to handle the loads your doing

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  Год назад +1

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. I did run a separate relay, the factory fog light relay. I also used the factory switch, I like everything to look clean, and not have a bunch of switches all over the dash. This way I can operate the fog light whenever I want, not solely depending on the brights.
      Each circuit has its own relay and harness. Nothing is getting overloaded. The brights/lows/fog light harness/wire is designed to hold that power with halogen bulbs. They aren't sharing the power, nothing gets crossed over. The circuit board or the diodes only job, is just to tell the other relays to turn on. The diode connects to the "trigger" wire/pin of the relay, and the relay gets the all power from the battery. Thats all it does. Plus, running LEDs pulls even less power

  • @WaveAction777
    @WaveAction777 2 года назад

    Why does the diode go to 86 on the fog light and on 85 on the low beam? I've seen it go to 85 on the fog lamp in another video?

    • @TheKingCoopa
      @TheKingCoopa  2 года назад +1

      Hey. Sorry for the late reply.
      Pin 30 : power from the battery
      Pin 85 : switched signal wire
      Pin 86 : ground
      Pin 87 : power to the fog light.
      Based off online research the diodes should all be going to pin 85 to turn on the fog lights and low beams. The fleece motherboard uses pin 86, which is why I said/ran it like that. On paper pin 86 doesn't make any sense, but even with the diodes thats how I ran it, and it worked.

    • @TheKingCoopa

      Dash switches and buttons can't take alot of volts/watts. Headlights take alot of power to run. So they need a relay, so the switch doesn't burn up. A basic relay has four wires. Ground, switch power, battery power in, battery power out to the light.
      So when you turn your headlights on, the switch tells the relay to get power from the battery and send it to the headlight.
      The diodes are the mini "switch" so when you hit your high beams, the diodes send power to the fog light/low beam relays, switched power. Which tells them to send power from the battery to the lights. Which gives you the 6 high.
      There is alot of info online about diagrams and simple schematics of how a relays work, if you ever wanna learn more about them 🤘
