I'm glad I grabbed what I could when they were out. Definitely some sweet cars in this set I wish I saw out in the stores, would have grabbed more. It's like fishing, some days are better than others
i started collecting these with my daughter and is one of the main things that got her interested. her and I are a completionists and have ALMOST all the cars from the regular release as well as mainline ID Chases. we collected all the licensed as well as fantasy. I too also jumped on the final release before they sky-rocketed in price and to this day only need to find that illusive Pininfarina

Sorry to have missed the giveaway. I am a huge fan of hot wheels id, and have managed to collect over 50 of them.
I do hope they are utilized in future hot wheels apps, I was fortunate enough to get the smart track starter set for Xmas and I am 59. I hope to have the pleasure of watching my grandchildren play with them.

Kicking my self, saw the Miura once and didn't get it, but I did get the Batmobile in both the premium and basic versions.
The miura is still relatively inexpensive....

One of my biggest regrets as a collector was not getting the final mix of ID from hobby dealers while I had a chance. These are great models, considerably nicer than HW Premium at their best, and I definitely think these will gain value in years to come.
There were a lot of duds In the Id releases ..but even those seem to be gaining value now. Just goes to show what happens when a line is ended before the final run is released ..😂....all of a sudden everyone wants it ..

I only own 3 ID and only purchased 2 of them for a premium (the third just happen to see in store). The 2 are the 2018 Custom Mustang, and the Viper. That Viper is so sweet that I feel it is equal to the Mustang.
You really had me scratching my head as you began your top 10 countdown. I thought I was being punked. Those drift cars are so atrocious! It's as if someone took a cool car and said, "what can I do to make this beautiful machine look absolute trash". Thankfully, things improved as you made your way down the list. I only managed to snag 3 from the line, plus found a couple of the mainline chases. There are definitely many more I would have liked to have added to my collection. That Mustang in Falken livery is not something I'd typically be interested in, but you're absolutely right about how amazing it looks. I think for me, after the holy grail Pinninfarina Battista, my top picks would have to be the blue McLaren Senna, Porsche 918 and Pagani Huayra, gold Lamborghini Miura and Porsche 911 GT3, the green Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Jaguar F-Type Project 7, black McLaren F1 GTR and black & red Audi R8 LMS. ID was an interesting side line that died off too soon.
I remember finding the HKS R34 and passing on it, because it’s just not for me, if only I had known the value it would hold!
Thinking like that is how hoarders are created.😂 You know, the guys that buy everything just in case it may be worth a little bit of cash later on. Stick with what you like. Trust me you will be a happier collector. I have seen people with collections so big and unmanageable I don't see how it's fun any longer. Well I guess the guys with a lot of space and money are successful. But many throw them in boxes never to see the light of day until they kick the bucket....
So glad I got some of the popular id cars because now Hot wheels Id is now what I like to call the popular 21st century fad casting group. It goes perfectly in timeline with the HW cd rom, highway 35 world race, acceleracers, speed racers, speed machines and team hot wheels remembering those old but popular fad castings back in their hay day collecting from 2000 to 2020.
Falken is my favorite. Great video as always. 👍

Im a fan of this line, I hope something similar comes in the future. This tech and making it compatible with something like HotWheels Unleashed would be super exciting. Great vid.
Your number 2, that Mustang, was straight amazing. I had to have it. Paid around $11 to $14 for it. Funny enough I thought the Lagano version was nearly equally impressive just for a dollar.
The details in this line were pretty food. It was almost like being able to buy a premium line that was actually available (or at least more available than other premium lines).
Yeah there were plenty out there for sure. I don't get some of the anger I'm seeing in the comments about the lack of products when they were released.
Hot Wheels in a dangerous hobby i guess. I was assaulted by a walmart employee today in Canada for looking in the new boxes which the store put out, something that is regularly done by people in our area. Crazy, watch out everyone out there when you are in a walmart hunting for treasures, you much get punched by an old man working there.

Same in Houston I was looking for hot wheels when I spotted a box at the shelf and as I was about to grab it the worker shouted me to leave the box alones because it has not been scan out so I stay there but he never scan it out or put in out just took it to his kart and stay there when I told the manager he told me that wait to they put them out of the box sad times stay safe out there

You’re not allowed to go through any boxes in Walmarts in my area. If you see something then you have to ask a store employee to open it for you, but taking it off a pallet is a no-no. I’ve seen people get kicked out of the store for doing it.
That is definitely an unique Jeep (17:12). I don't know that I have previously seen that casting. I think my favorite car in today's video is the Mustang (24:31). Thanks for the great video.

Cool video. Love all the infortation about the line. I love the I.D cars. mainly because of the cool decos and spectraflame colors. They didn't have Real Riders, but sometimes regular wheels look better with the special logos on the actual tires. i also also like seeing some of my favorite unlicense models get the treatment. Like Arachnorod , Motosaurus. and of course Twin Mill and Rodger Dodger. my top 2 of all time.. I have about 20 of them including what I found in cases. It's a real shame mattel stop including them to start that NFT thing, because those are not as avaliable to the public as I.D cars were. I so want that Jeep Express. Has a little Altered Ego thing going on. Freight Liner Truck looks like a metal version of Rig Storm. similiar big wing, almost same front end. Love that you have American Muscle in your top 2.
The mustang gives the green underglow vide, for me thats the best casting
So many of these are absolutely beautiful, I'm so jealous.
My top 3 picks were the yellow-gold Nissan Fairlady Z , HKS R34 and the McLaren F1 GTR. My honorable mentions is the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Falken livery Ford Mustang.

The r34 hks car I found like 7 of those at Ross. . Aswell ad the gold nissan . .Joker boneshaker . .asphalt. . Mercedes amg gt3. Lots of others for 2.99man those where my favorite hunting days aswell
Ive got ten or so ID cars, split it up between licensed and original designs. The S14 drift, Ford Fiesta, Power 24-GT, and the Rally Finale are some of my favorites. Really hope they bring the various ID wheels to mainline.

Nice take John! I like your top three and I have them all. You mentioned the Freightliner was cool and I agree. Just missed out since it was so hard to find. Lucked out and got the McLaren F1 final run. Kind of hard to get a "top" model in my book. GOOD JOB!
Just pick up the Subaru BRZ and Nissan HKS geez, these things are getting a bit pricey. One more to add the Joker Boneshaker than I’m done with the easy ones to get. The last set starting to look like its gonna be Holy Grail status!
Liking the longer videos. 👍 I wish the ID series had been easier to find in stores. I remember finding the blue 918 Spyder around April of 2021 and that was the last mix I ever saw on the shelves. They were in some Wal-Mart stores, but most didn't reorder since they had a shelf full of Fiat 500s not going anywhere. I would love to have some of the later models, but like you said, they are going for some crazy money on the secondary market now. I'll be sure to tune into the Whatnot stream. Hope I can get lucky!

Always felt that these were Hot Wheels attempt at Telepods. Only problem, that fad died many years ago.
Back when the Dragstrip demons came out, I had gotten alot from Toys R Us( about 2007 or so) and a really good Hobbytown USA
but turned down ones I didn't like

Great video, I tried getting these when I could, wasn't often. Walmart seemed to know when I was broke and window shopping. Last unreleased case is crazy that it's so spendy.

That’s an awesome showcase! I do agree the R34 is a great casting, and the HKS livery is just sick!! Now, I realise why iD cars were loved. I was wrong about them being bad. Just the game wasn’t mean to be a mobile Hotwheels game, it was just a app for the tracks and to scan for. Good video again!
This series is just awesome! The R34 HKS is definetely in my top 3, alongside with the Silvia Drift and the beaten dow Time Machine with the cool rims. I love racing the fantasy cars on the ID track,as well. Great vid! see you on Saturday

Never even knew about that falken mustang. I'm not a mustang guy, I'm not even a muscle car guy but that looks insanely amazing. I'm a nissan collector and even so, I would put that up above the HKS GTR (that is also truly something else too). Amazing video! I wish you'd made some honorable mentions on the gold GT3 and the Mystery Machine too though!

My favorites of the 100 plus release of the ids are pretty much totally on the other end of the spectrum from yours. I love the Race Charger RT. It had great tampos, and both Lambo Miuras.
Many of the ids where of over used casting like the 66 Batmobiles, BTTF Delorian, Scooby Doo Van as well as Kitt or just plain goofy stuff. But some great castings and presentations to be sure.
Wish they had released that Bronco though. I would have definitely picked it up. I guess it's not too bad aftermarket right now. But it looks pretty much identical to the Premium so I'm good ..😂
I found a few of the HKS Skylines at my local Targets. Lucky me. I LOVE that model. Not too lucky on the rest though.

Looking back on Hot Wheels id, I fully agree with those who say it was simply a fad that fizzled out. I kind of view it as a precursor/kiddie version of the eventual NFT Garage. And we all know how NFTs have been performing so far.🤣 I actually have a bunch of these id models, though most of them are the worthless fantasy models. I would just pick them up whenever I managed to find them at Target, which is a 30 minute drive from my residence. I did find some at my Walmart, including both Miuras, but after only 1 or 2 mixes they vanished completely. The scalpers had a fucking field day with the mainline chases I'll tell you that for free.🙄 LOL those fizzled out SOOOO goddamn fast. I did however manage to snag the Jaguar i-Pace eTrophy and the BMW i8 Roadster, which I'm pleased about since they were one-and-done's. To be completely honest, I hope these digital lines die out and stay dead (looking at YOU NFT Garage🤬). Great video though, I enjoyed looking back on these!

I loved the ID cars and have several I-Pace cars I modified for racing. I tried to get that last case unsuccessfully.
It was a cool idea I think, but it just didn’t catch on. Also they were a bit pricey if you did see them at all. Some cool models in there though
I thought they were a bit overrated myself. There were maybe 3 or 4 that I liked. Which I did get.

Yep, Dollar Tree had a boxes of them 2 years ago around the holidays in Northern VA. I picked up 3 sets of the Batman cars, Knight Rider, and Back to the Future and gave them out as presents. Then went back and bought one of each of the others.
I was so disappointed that last case wasn't officially released, a few wants in there that's for sure. . .
I'm still disappointed they pulled a speed machines with ID too the last wave should've been fully produced just like the others wouldn't have to pay 100-300 dollars per model or 1000 If its a sealed case thats a slap in the face to the collectors who got blindsided by that and it was too late for them to snag a retail priced set

Lack of distribution killed this line. I did get all of the cars I wanted, luckily.
So what exactly happened with this final mix? My hobby dealer never got any of those cases. The 1st time I saw them was on ebay, I think only 2 cases were on auction at 2 different people and they sold for over 500 each.....and this was early 2022, I thought it's just the typical HW "gotta have it 1st so I'm overbidding on ebay" deal that happens with so many releases but....they went higher and higher ever since and did not see them at any of the usual hobby shops (jcar, 1stop ect). Ebay sellers or hobby dealers that had them, how did they get them? It makes no sense for Mattel to have killed the line mid-production of the C release.....it is very very strange.

The handling of the very last mix of the ID line was the most royal fuckup in diecast history. Don't quote me on this but word on the street was that something happened with the cargo on one of the ships that were carrying the 2022 ID C case. But the people who ordered that case too late from the hobby dealers never got their cars so they got their orders canceled. Don't attack me for any misinformation, this story was from some cats with the inside scoop.
Now, the cars of that C case are just worth idiotic money, especially that Battista. But I just feel that something about that situation was real fishy; it just don't seem kosher at all. Unfortunately it's now playing right into the scalpers' hands- hook, line and sinker. And guess what? HW just shut the whole line down, just like that. I don't even know what the hell happened myself; maybe it _was_ an inside job. If they were just simply announcing that it was over way before whatever happened happened, then we could accept that. All I know is that Mattel/Hot Wheels could have handled that situation better.

Yes they were. Maybe you had your head in the clouds. Also they were EASILY found in online stores and DID NOT sell out quickly. You could have bought cases all day long for several days if not weeks. You missed it because you didn't care at the time. Simple as that ..
