Elite 64 is interesting. The level of details for the price is unimpressive compared to say MiniGT. However if they were to make the right castings I would be interested. Especially cars that nobody else has done in 1/64. The Mustang isn’t for me personally, I like my cars to be Stock mostly
Honestly a cash grab just to keep the Hotwheels hype high. Way too expensive even with preorder and then I see people selling them on eBay for $50. MiniGT is making much better cars at the around the same price with better quality and details. I will take a MINI GT any day over an Elite64. Quality over quantity is always important, especially for an adult collector.
I don’t think the price tag is a huge issue. Yes $20 can get you two mini GTs but I’d say you’re paying for the exclusivity and Hot Wheels branding (or well, hype) since these can sell out i.e. limited qty One major issue I have are the headlights and rear lights have those black dots on them. Could be more detailed as well by adding signal lights and reverse lights for the back just like how other premium brands do it. For those arguing that the cars are technically $27 because of the $7 shipping, don’t forget - you can order as many as you want so you can link up with your collector buddies to save on shipping!
Well, ordering as many as you can is actually the problem: an incentive for scalpers and crazy prices on secondary markets instead of allowing people who actually work at 9am PT to be on Mattel's website. Collectors who like the car for their collection have to spend $27. Also, I don't think hot wheels wants to compete for level of details with Mini GT/Tarmac/Inno64... Elite 64 should resemble the same feeling of super solid products to handle (which the competition doesn't have) with more details than the premium line. To me particularly important would be metal spoilers, high quality control, NO moving parts. The models they choose are less important IMAO: they will run out of stock anyways and people would buy the ones they like. Again, you need to consider the $27 price tag which is well beyond acceptable for what you are getting
They seem a bit expensive, but it doesn’t really matter for me as I only buy Hotwheels from the peg. That said, I do like the model, especially the engine execution. 👍
I actually like this Elite 64 line and what they are doing. As long as it can provide offerings that differentiate itself from anything else on the market and other HW lines and provide value for the $$$ it will be successful. The chaser is cool but the Mustang widebody is super cool and very impactful with that killer engine detail including mirrored turbos. I'll ante up for the Mustang for sure.

Great work and design details on the Mustang. At first before being removed from the package I thought I disliked it. Once out the true model evolved. Beautiful work. I will probably need to purchase a few of these. Just purchased a couple of MB Elite examples but the Mustang takes the checkered flag 🏁 🏁🏁🏁🙂🙂🙂

Looks absolutely amazing. $27 shipped is way too much though. We all know these details are possible at lower price points and it's the HW hype that makes them that price.
They want my thoughts well… I’m starting to get priced out of each of the Hot Wheels lines and fatigued on their distribution and release schedules. They’re not getting the pricing, production and release dates to match up and make sense causing general frustration among some of us wanna be “collectors” whatever that’s supposed to mean these days. The rising costs of RLC with far less exclusivity attached, and a release schedule way too heavy around Christmas for me is making me second guess which ones I really want. The Car Culture and Boulevard lines are supposed to be mass produced and easier to get than Mini GT or others but the production there is so low or distribution so flawed it’s near impossible to find them retail pushing the price up to levels beyond their relative value on eBay by adding shipping, profits for sellers, eBay fees and local taxes. Then many of these cost way more than other premium lines or their relative value. Now you add on Elite64 line with questionable relative value, exclusivity, and availability and only 1.5 models in and I see a downward trend for me and far less personal enthusiasm to be a “collector”. And again Tuesdays at 9am/12pm is such a weird time for releases since to afford any type of premium collecting you have to work and make decent money. I get it’s traditional for RLC but it’s not desirable to have more midday releases. For me that’s what happened with a lot of what Hot Wheels has tried over the years. The value proposition between price, quality and availability eventually killed my desire and pushed me out of collecting for years at a time. 100% line missed the mark on its value proposition with price and availability. Hot Wheels ID line missed the mark on relative value for models at first then by the time the models started getting interesting for collectors availability went out the window. I reluctantly pulled the trigger on the Merc to dip my toe in the Elite64 world but I’m not sure I’ll be back for more thinking of the 100-200 I can already spend a month with just Mattel trying not to miss randomly timed RLC releases, frustration with Car Culture availability and secondary market pricing and add on some premium Matchbox. Not sure I can commit much further as a “collector” and I may need to take a break from Mattel altogether or focus my collecting on Mini GT more since they have a lot of cars I’ve been holding out on getting and their availability and price are more consistent and less frustrating even on eBay. The concept of cannibalisation also comes to mind and we haven’t even thrown the next iteration of Speed Machines into the mix yet.
So. M2 can make a multi piece model for under $10. This is a revamp of the 100% line with a new name. Folks will want numbered exclusivity even if it is 25000 or whatever. A number is better than no number. Price is a little high for what it is. Could be it needs to find it’s footing. Passed on the Chaser. Bought 2 of the Mercedes. Might get the Mustang. Don’t feel like I need to be a completionist on this line.
Got to have the Mustang!! I think it's a good idea for a new line. I will do like I do now and pick and choose which one I order, so the price won't bother me if it's $20+ a car. Hopefully, they will be up to buy for a period of time and not like they do releases now. Have a car in your cart, go through payment, hit pay, and it comes back and says sold out and you miss out. I can understand something being limited, but they shouldn't let you get all the way to submitting payment and after you do, letting you know it sold out.
Lamley, I'm in Canada so these Elite64 models are priced higher along with shipping. That Mustang (for the price) should have side mirrors - something I can overlook on the mainlines and even 'Premiums' but inexcusable on an 'Elite' model. I did grab the Chaser and the Gullwing but I'm not applying a 'gotta catch 'em all' mentality to this series. FWIW, I think Mattel is well aware of the Hot Wheels craze that's trending around the globe and the associated reselling. The Bronco RLC exclusive was almost $80 Canadian with shipping which is insane but it did sell out so they're going to keep pushing the envelope as far as pricing goes. I wouldn't be surprised if they churn out an 'ultra/mega elite' series that has even more details and 'working suspension' at a higher price. 😆😆😆
Even on premiums I believe they should have side mirrors as here in the uk atleast they are £10 which is 5x the price of a mainline yet some of the mainlines even receive mirrors and the number of them seems to be increasing.
What you get for the base price (so not including taxes and shipping) is bellow par. In the current market, this just doesn't make sense. Autoworld and MiniGT are half the price for better results. More premium brands like TarmacWorks, Inno64 and Para64 are still cheaper than Elite64 while being far better. Heck! Even older Hot Wheels lines like 100% offered a better deal than this. So it's a hard pass for me.
That being said, this Mustang looks dope. I like how they integrated design elements of the 1970 Mustang into the 1969 base and how bulky and ready to race this looks. Could have gone for a more interesting colour and graphics though. And those vents and intakes could also have used more details.
@jexmarro9 nope. Didn't buy it. Didn't buy the 300SL either. Bought a shit load of MiniGT and Inno64 though. Because those are actually great and worth every penny.
My one desire with regards to the Elite64 line is that these castings don't end up being "one and done" releases, but that Mattel makes multiple variations of each one. It would, of course, be awesome if they continued creating all-new one-off wheels for each release - I just hope to see the same Toyota Chaser casting and the same Custom Mustang casting, as two examples, in at least one other variant apiece. I absolutely love this product line, and I'll be honest - as someone whose primary hobby of interest is model railroading, $20 + S&H for a true 1:64 scale casting of this caliber is nowhere near as far-fetched for me as it is for some others 😁
I love the idea of elite 64 but they need to bring the price down to around $15, $20 shipped max to make the cost must more justifiable along with being much more comparable to various brands regarding quality and price for example Mini GT.
The Mustang casting itself is nice, very unique look. Unique wheels also help seeing as how so many HW premiums just recycle the same wheels. Overall $20 is lower-high end territory and I don't think the Elite64's are worth that. Definitely not the Toyota chaser. The level of detail just doesn't come close to other diecast cars that are charging $20.

I'm not a JDM fan. I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s so muscle was king. I will definitely try to get a few of the Mustang. It's an amazing looking car.
i have to say my initial impression of the mustang was that is was ok, but seeing up close I might grab one.. the detail is really interesting. Maybe a subtle livery would help as it does have a time attack theme..noting crazy..like maybe it could be a very light white/grey? I loved the drift themed chaser and I'm excited to get my merc sl..
I love this idea of elite 64. The price I never really thought much of but now that ppl r talking about it makes sense. I think one thing for sure to lower the cost is no moving parts but even at that I don’t mind it. Idk I guess my only suggestion is what someone said and that’s to just ensure these r super high quality like kaidos and make sure the graphics on the cars on appealing.
I'm ok with the idea of the Elite 64 line. It's like a continuation of the old 100% line. The Chaser didn't do it for me, it was too bland for me. The problem with the execution of the headlights is no that we can see the peg, it's that it's the only thing we can see. There's no detail behind the plastic lenses, just a flat surface. On the SEL 300 it's not an issue, since they are simple round headlights. Mustang looks cool, but they should spill some paint on that engine if it's going to be the special feature. For me it will be a case by case purchase.
@@jicez6649 The main headlights look like they're plastic, fog lights and tail lights are painted. I've never seen $5 Mini GT models, all the Mini GT models I have ever seen are $15-$25.
@Ricardo Santiago exactly, I was making a hypothetical analysis that If mini gt did make a Mercedes at the level of this elite Mercedes it would hypothetically be $5 since the quality of mini gt at a $20 price point is very high.
Just got mine, and I have to say it is comparable to an Autoworld release. Maybe a little more, since the gauges on the dashboard are painted, but yeah. Maybe they should retail for $12 tops. I'll probably get another if it's a must-have car model.
I’m stoked for the Mercedes… not so much on this guy and I passed on the chaser. Are the tires plastic on the stang? They look like they are in the vid. People are going to flip out if they are. My fear with this line is that it will fail to find its voice and where it fits in with todays premium diecast collector.
MiniGT is better, has real cars, a ton more deco, and costs $5-8 less. Elite would only be reasonable in its current form at the $10 price point. Even then, meh.
That line either needs to get its price significantly lowered or be better than or at least equal in quality to Inno64/Tarmac Works Hobby64 lines for its current price. Then only I'll ever consider buying one
The mustang is so sick love it!! Im a mustang fan anyway I need 3 of them right now cant wait for them to come out. I have the other two great cars but this takes the Cake! Good job Hot Wheels! Thank you for showing it great video like always keep us updated!
So my thoughts are Elite 64 is heading in the right direction with the mustang. Unique wheels for each car is really nice and I enjoy it. I think we could do spectraflame on some for the price. I'd also like to see more crisp builds like the chaser headlights look kind of cheap. I think they're heading in the right direction with the mustang and I will be buying a few. I think the community needs to be patient and let Hot Wheels develop this line over time and improve it because car culture started just 7 years ago but has improved quite a lot since.
Agreed, I think this is a pretty strong start in terms of creating the Elite 64 identity: closer to true 1:64 scale, bespoke wheels, and at least one "feature" for every vehicle. Given the success of the Chaser and 300 SL already, I imagine Mattel will be willing to let the design team take the future iterations of the line and make them even better
While I think concept for Elite 64 is good, Mattel needs do a deeper dive if they are going to be competitive with Mini GT and Para 64. Don’t need moving parts, but do still need plastic inserted headlights and tail lights. $20 is too expensive and makes one compare it to Tarmac Works based on this pricing. So far not impressed overall with Elite 64 based on first 3 models. While I think the Elite 64 Mustang’s classic tailights and badge are done well, I prefer Mini GT’s Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 models for $11-14 when compared to Hot Wheels Elite 64 Mustang. Mattel still has a lot of work to do here to really compete with other premium diecast vendors and satisfy diecast collectors.
I don't mind the price, I just wish you could get them in Europe easier. $20 plus $15 shipping plus $9 import tax. Nearly $50 for this car. I've contacted Hot Wheels already and although they have a depot in Belgium, they still ship from US first.
I like the concept, I have a feeling with the $20 price point it may not start off as a "I gotta get them all" kind of collection. This is going to be more of a "I love XYZ model of car so I'm going to drop the cash on this really nice one". I can appreciate the Chaser, don't really want it, I like the Mustang... I don't $20 like it. Once the release a 911, or an Audi R8 or if they do a 1970 Challenger similar to the way the Mustang turned out, I'll be smashing the buy button for those... A first gen Legacy turbo wagon I'd buy 10 of lol!
Initially I wasn't 100% sold on the Elite 64 line, but I got the Chaser to check it out and I'm surprised by how much I like it. I love the scale, the casting, the execution, the details, the colors and decos, etc. Very impressed. I'm not too intimidated by price but I can see where other people are coming from; maybe closer to $15 would be a better price point for many? That said, the M-B 300 SL sold out in under 24 hours, so... As for the Mustang, I'm very excited for it. At the end of the day, there are plenty of good 1:64 diecast stock Mustangs out there, I'm sure, but the heavy modifications and that beautifully detailed engine make this one truly unique. I think I'll be getting at least 1 each of everything in the Elite 64 range until I get something in my hands that I find I don't like. My message to Mattel: just keep a focus on quality and value, and I'll stay interested.

I love that all of the wheels have been unique so far and that 2 of the 3 are completely new castings. As others have said it harkens back to the 100% line, which my most treasured childhood cars are part of. I agree there are bigger bangs for the buck that maybe one day Mattel will have to compete with. But for now, they are the big dogs with loads of demand (and marketing cost) so I'm sure it will continue. Wait for me!
I love the idea so far but I it hasn't caught my eye until this upcoming mustang and while I understand the idea is to hit every niche of the hobby I thought there would be some more flashy details or even color options cause this when it got announced seemed like the ultimate series from hotwheels but like I said so far the mustang is the only one that captures that for me
📲Thanks for watching and showing love Congratulations❇️🏅 you have been selected among my shortlisted winner's dm to claim your prize Telegram only📩🎉🎉…….
Definitely going to get the complete set as long as they stay at the $20. But with all the input we give Mattel saying we will be purchasing, I'm sure they will raise their prices on a few?? Do you know why they started with number 2? Will number 1 be like the chase or something
I love the chaser I passed on the Mercedes I passed on the Volkswagen and the Dodge Van I got the Nova and the Mustang Cobra R coming out soon. THAT EXPERIMENTAL MUSTANG IS SICK
Elite 64 is an opportunity to introduce some niche products, such as the Toyota Chaser. Introduce lesser-known vehicles to diecast collectors, HW is the quintessential tastemaker in the diecast market, and Mattel should take full-advantage of this. In addition, maximize the licensing with companies like Mercedes (I would love to see a W140 S-Class) and Lexus (a proper LFA) while we have the opportunity. As a collector, I love the fact that Mattel has tapped into car-culture, yes to negative camber, yes to treaded tires, & yes to period appropriate After-market sponsers. Finally, Keep Elite 64 an Online-only product & keep pricing in the range of Mini-GT.
Wow! Thank goodness you took it out of the packaging.. it was very meh when you posted the thumbnail and insta. But it definitely looks cool when it’s out of the packaging. Lots of nice details. I dig this
very cool feature . Looks even better without the hood. The body kit looks insane. I wouldn't pay 20 dollars for no car. Not even a muscle car, so I will skip it, but I can admire it on the chanel.
I think the idea is good I think it's a marketable product and I think they're going to make money on it only not from me because everything is JDM or exotics there's no hot rods, muscle cars or drag cars so it's not for me 👍
- I like this Elite 64 line. I like that they are more realistic looking than other hot wheels lines. Most RLCs don't get separate head/taillamps & they cost more right now. I feel that HWs needs to do better with the head & taillamps on these at $20+. I'm a Mercedes collector & I'm not happy that the 300SL has painted taillamps. The Mustang is hot & I will definitely grab a couple, they did a great job with it.
So, these are HW goin for the market that Inno64, Tarmc Works n the likes, they need work on the detail n maybe make the paint look thinner. I luv em both like, especially that Chaser.
Re: mustang. I like the direction but I'd definitely change a few things. 1. The body kit is too wide and long in the rear for the stock wheel base. Make the rear tire larger or further back or lose a couple millimeters in the rear kit. 2. I respect blue but if you're gonna go that metallic just go bullitt green and call it a day. 3. If I'm buying a $20 1:64, every door on that thing better open. I can get a 1:24 Jada with all the same stuff for $20 and I can buy it at a store.
I think the model is perfect, put next to other models the price is on point. My only gripe is the packaging. I do not like the blister that is closely contoured to the model. It takes away from being able to see the details in the model when displayed in the packaging.
I have miχed feelings about the "Elite64". At $20 a pop, they're competing with many other premium brands out there wich offer similar or better details like Tarmac Works, Inno64, MiniGT, Para64 or the many different brands that come from China or Hong Kong. It's nice that they use prototypical wheels and extra parts for the front and headlights / tailights. Toyota Chaser looks nice, but not outstanding, surely a level above the 'Car Culture' level of detail but still behind some popular brands out there. I really like the Custom Mustang. If this line is to sell, they need to make new models or unique approaches to well known cars, like that Mustang. Competition in 1/64 is fierce, and Mattel already makes a ton of Hot Wheels premium stuff as it is, so in a sense it's even competing with itself.
📲Thanks for watching and showing love Congratulations❇️🏅 you have been selected among my shortlisted winner's dm to claim your prize Telegram only📩🎉🎉…….
I could add my voice to the chorus complaining about the price, but the two released have sold out within hours, which is likely the primary thing Mattel is looking at. Speaking directly about the Mustang, this feels like it could be the best example of what this line should be, taking a design and going all the way with "hotwheelsification". The only complaint I could have about the car itself would be that engine needing some tampo work to bring out the details. While I like the 'Elite64' concept, and even picked up the Chaser, this line feels like it was created in a vacuum without any attention paid to other products in the same price range.
I love the idea of the Elite 64 and, so far, the models are fantastic. I’m okay with that price as long as they keep the release to a slow pace. Paying that much for a car isn’t sustainable if they release a bunch of models per year. It’ll dig too much into my RLC budget 😊
The paint/details have been ok so far, bit below normal premiums imo. I like the gimmic each car gets, the new wheels, and the overall sculpting, but I only plan on getting the Mustang and Aventador. The way they mount the head and tail lights on the Chaser is a bit distracting with how blank the rest of the piece is.
The Mustang was/is my favorite since the convention preview. Phil Rheilman design is fantastic. One of his best ever. I have and like the Chaser as well.
I definitely want to buy the mustang I love my chaser got 2 so I still gotta open one and I wanna get this mustang I'm loss of words on this casting tbh
I think the Elite 64 has potential and I don't believe we have seen what this Elite 64 is capable of providing. I really like the 69 Ford Mustang and would like to see it again with possibly a Ford Racing livery. Price point might seem a little steep for a plain car without any tampos. All and all I like the 20 piece diecast cars and hope Elite 64 limits quantity of each casting/livery.
For someone who's living in Europe, i dont buy HW Elite64, cause i cant order it at my favorite Onlineshop and the price for one with shipping is to expensive (25€ + 10€), 35€ is the price of a Hobby Japan Modell or three MiniGT or three Schuco Edition64 or four Greenlight. And the Taillghts of the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing are terrible . If i can buy them everywhere and they reduced the price to 15€ i would think of it to buy one. Greetings from Germany.
I like what they are doing but for 20 dollars make it more interesting paint color and wheels combo, for example with the Mustang; if you are going to use blue, well use chrome wheels or white or even black. But make it attractive to the eye, almost like an RLC, and you will have the collectors hook.
So, I've just ordered 2 of the Gullwing race cars, and I haven't yet got hands on with them. I mostly collect racing cars, so I was less interested in the Chaser, but am very interested in the Mustang and obvously the 300SL. So My thoughts before getting hands on with the cars... Thoughts on the SL I hate that Hotwheels has decided to base the paint job for that model on the same car they've done 3 times in the last 5 years. It was in team transport, part of the historic racing Walmart 4 pack, and as a speical bonus for people who bought that fancy $10,000 watch. I don't like the paint job, I think it makes a natrually pretty car ugly, I wish they would literly paint it any other color. But alas, hot wheels doesnt care about people like me, otherwise they would have brought back Accelaracers by now. Thoughts on the Mustang. The body itself and the car's style is amazing, but once again, they are making a mistake with the paint job if that blue is the final color. No way would someone spend $100,000 of dollars to build a race car like that, out of classic muscle car that would we worth way more if they left it alone, only to then not actually race it. It needs a proper racing liverly, with sponsors and numbers. Use the NASA's American Iron cars as a guide for how to do these wide bodied, american muscle cars. Alternatively, look at the Nissan R34 liberty walk cars that have come out in premium, that's the level of detail on a racing car I'm expecting, especially on one that is 3x as much. Thoughts on Elite 64 as a whole Although there is clearly a lot of work in the bodies of the cars and their speical features, the lack of orginal paint jobs/racing liveries make them a hard sell. You are spending closer to $30 with tax and shipping and handling, and that price is high considering the level of detail found in the Hot Wheels Premium line AND in competitors like MINI GT. In the end, this is Elite 64's issue. The speical features are kinda cool if a little gimicky, but in every other category, MINI GT or Tarmac Works will give you a better quality product for half the price. They have to get the prices down a bit, or put WAY WAY more work into designing liveries that are speical to each car. OR... Elite 64 could become Hot Wheel's launching point for never before seen models in 1/64th scale released as small sets that become the crown jewels of a existing collection. Think the Walmart 4 packs, or the Target 2 packs, but on a higher level of detail, and no 2nd dip cars. For Example, Hot Wheels already makes the C9 Saber, Porsche 962, and Mazda 787B, arguably the 3 most important Group C/GTP cars in history. I would love to see the next batch of Elite 64 cars be dedicated to that form of racing, with some never before seen models. Jaguar XJR14, Nissan ZX Turbo, Chevy C4 GTP. If you gave me, all 3 of those cars, in Premium quality, in one off paint jobs never to be redone in the other product lines, I would happily pay $60 for that packaged deal. Still $20 per car, but as it's themed and sold as a set, I would be much more likely to spring for that, then a random single car.
I really like the idea but god it hurts the bank. I live in Australia and it ends up costing be like $60 each. I bought extras to sell just so I could justify buying them for my own collection
Chaser is legendary. Elite 64 seems like it’s another gamble. Any thing now days will be expensive especially because it’s beginning to be like another hype brand lmaoo. Ultimately it’s all for the people and it’s just paper 💸💸💸 Keep on keep’n up with the culture 🏎💨
For $20 the quality needs to improve to Mini GT Inno64 level. For example the Mercedes elite has painted lights where mini gt and inno64 have realistic inserts for the lights for less cost. The chaser elite was nice and this mustang elite is pretty much a fantasy casting so a hard pass.
I passed on the Chaser, and will also pass on the Mustang. I did happily purchase the Mercedes 300SL. I suppose, for me, while I applaud the Elite 64 premise, however, I prefer my collection of cars/trucks to be more traditional replicas... I would LOVE to see Mattel do something along the lines of a Ferrari or Porsche in Elite 64, rather than cars that are "Out There" in design. The Mercedes 300SL hut that spot square on the head. The Chaser is OK, but as you stated, not a very common model, and the Mustang, while I appreciate the work in designing the model, I feel that a High End (Elite64) casting of the 1969 Mach 1 428CJ with the Shaker Scoop, or even a BOSS 302. would be a strong piece. I think BOTH types of collectors, would snap it up. Wild Casting Interpretations such as the Modified Mustang, can be a bit "Polarizing". You either LOVE it, or Hate It. Just my opinion.
The wheels on the Mustang remind me of Speed Machines. I’ve only discovered the premium brands like Tarmac Works, Mini GT, GFCC, Auto World, and others over the past 16 months. Before that, Hot Wheels 100%, Johnny Lightning mainline, Kyosho, Tomica, and a few other brands were my normal. Hot Wheels 100% cars were about as exotic and expensive as I was willing to go, and all that I knew. Exact accuracy wasn’t an absolute requirement because the attempt and getting the builds mostly right was good enough for me! Looking at the Custom 1969 Mustang is Mattel’s way of staying relevant in an increasingly competitive market, but the Mustang is another fantasy car from Mattel..and that’s their bread, if not bread AND butter. However, I think the price is too high to draw people away from Mini GT and such brands that are not trying to make clown cars, but representative 1/64 models.
Lets get this straight, there is potential & I mean great potential for the elite 64 series.. but Mattel you got to take in advice and listen to your audience! Look at your competitors & study their models well because if you hit the nail in the coffin where your competitors are not, you will make a great amount of people happy who will pay for the price tag.
Elite 64 is interesting. The level of details for the price is unimpressive compared to say MiniGT. However if they were to make the right castings I would be interested. Especially cars that nobody else has done in 1/64.
The Mustang isn’t for me personally, I like my cars to be Stock mostly
Elite64 is simply the fanciest toy grade car. Definitely not on the level of most collector grade cars for $20.
I thought it was a Liberty Walk s15 honestly. I love my chaser though just because that car is badass in real life
Elite 64 are NOT true 1/64 they run large.
Yes $20 can get you two mini GTs but I’d say you’re paying for the exclusivity and Hot Wheels branding (or well, hype) since these can sell out i.e. limited qty
One major issue I have are the headlights and rear lights have those black dots on them.

Just purchased a couple of MB Elite examples but the Mustang takes the checkered flag

I’m patiently waiting for the Speed Machines show case😊
NOW YOU GOT IT
Looks absolutely amazing.

Love the MOD. '69 MUSTANG IS SO FREAKING AMAZING

@@grandtheftgameryt agreed with you 100%. The RLC Cobra R coming out doesn't have side mirrors also. That's about $50 Canadian with shipping. 😡😡
I think all the Mustang needs is more color to the engine. Other than that, I think it's good

But you and everyone else bagging on them with run out and buy as many as you can lmao
The Mustang is awesome! I’m new to collecting, but i really like the HWC cars! Thank you for posting!😊
Mini gt and tarmac I think are better+ cheaper
@@benjaminsanchez3932 well agrred, you can find even more good quality both cheap and little bit expensive chaser models rather than this abomination
The Mustang casting itself is nice, very unique look. Unique wheels also help seeing as how so many HW premiums just recycle the same wheels. Overall $20 is lower-high end territory and I don't think the Elite64's are worth that. Definitely not the Toyota chaser. The level of detail just doesn't come close to other diecast cars that are charging $20.

i’m happy with my jzx100, it’s cool mattel even went ahead with the casting itself
Add some Toyo Proxes lettering on the mustang wheels and it will look cherry 🍒
I'm not a JDM fan. I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s so muscle was king. I will definitely try to get a few of the Mustang. It's an amazing looking car.
I would definitely pay 20 bucks for that stang!
Same
Awsome line elite 64 I will gladly pay the price for them, keep them coming Mattel.
i have to say my initial impression of the mustang was that is was ok, but seeing up close I might grab one.. the detail is really interesting.
For me it will be a case by case purchase.
what those cars going to cost
It looks like the sel has painted lights all around which would be like a $5 mini gt but to each there own.
Why are they concerned with making another premium line when the already premium $5 line is never on shelves.
I bought the 300SL and will buy this Mustang for sure, I like Elite64 since I want mostly Hot Wheels & unique models if I can
The mustang is so sick love it!! Im a mustang fan anyway I need 3 of them right now cant wait for them to come out. I have the other two great cars but this takes the Cake!
Good job Hot Wheels!
Thank you for showing it great video like always keep us updated!
Dig the wheels on the Mustang. FINALLY, something new, different and badazz!
Agreed. It’s not like they are forcing you to buy them. I would totally pick up the right car.
Mustang should be gold, red, or olive, classic Mustang muscle car colors for the year of the car. Too expensive for casual collecting.
I know that Mustang Hunter Diecast will probably consider getting one. He is huge in any Ford Mustang car.
THIS.
😍
That mustang is hawt 😍 🔥. I want it. Cheaper than RLC and more detailed but still a wild "hot wheels" car.
and i also sold 3 of the Toyota's at 40.00 each

I love that all of the wheels have been unique so far and that 2 of the 3 are completely new castings. As others have said it harkens back to the 100% line, which my most treasured childhood cars are part of. I agree there are bigger bangs for the buck that maybe one day Mattel will have to compete with. But for now, they are the big dogs with loads of demand (and marketing cost) so I'm sure it will continue. Wait for me!
Awesome Mustang!!!

Definitely going to get the complete set as long as they stay at the $20. But with all the input we give Mattel saying we will be purchasing, I'm sure they will raise their prices on a few?? Do you know why they started with number 2? Will number 1 be like the chase or something
N1 was the mercedes they sold yesterday
I love the chaser I passed on the Mercedes I passed on the Volkswagen and the Dodge Van I got the Nova and the Mustang Cobra R coming out soon. THAT EXPERIMENTAL MUSTANG IS SICK
I love the Toyota Chaser for sure. That mustang is Vary cool too.
I dig this
That modded Mustang is a beauty! Bit on the pricey side but it will fly off the shelves
Any update on the premium ford Capri coming out this year? Will it be the Zakspeed Group 5 Capri?
very cool feature . Looks even better without the hood. The body kit looks insane. I wouldn't pay 20 dollars for no car. Not even a muscle car, so I will skip it, but I can admire it on the chanel.
When is the release of the midified Mustang?
I like the Mustang casting but I think the deco is a little bland.

I think the idea is good I think it's a marketable product and I think they're going to make money on it only not from me because everything is JDM or exotics there's no hot rods, muscle cars or drag cars so it's not for me 👍
Lack luster
- I like this Elite 64 line. I like that they are more realistic looking than other hot wheels lines. Most RLCs don't get separate head/taillamps & they cost more right now. I feel that HWs needs to do better with the head & taillamps on these at $20+. I'm a Mercedes collector & I'm not happy that the 300SL has painted taillamps. The Mustang is hot & I will definitely grab a couple, they did a great job with it.
The chaser is worth every penny. That Stang looks like a Silvia s15 Liberty Walk at first glance. Details on it are nice though.
The blue mustang is killer, I will get one, if I can!
Price is a bit high, but otherwise I like the mustang. I’m excited about 64!
So, these are HW goin for the market that Inno64, Tarmc Works n the likes, they need work on the detail n maybe make the paint look thinner. I luv em both like, especially that Chaser.
That Mustang is beautiful and I'm going to pick that up yes they did it way better than the chaser the Mustang is clean
For anything 'premium', I'd love to see metal bases. Maybe it's the color choices so far but they look cheaper than RLC offerings.
Can’t wait for mustang I may grab two as I am a avid mustang collector

I believe that they should he around the $15 range. That way with their shipping costs they would be more around $20.
Looks like a 60s mustang but front clip looks newer love it also reminds me of ken Bloc style
I can't wait to get 2 of these!
Thoughts on the SL
I hate that Hotwheels has decided to base the paint job for that model on the same car they've done 3 times in the last 5 years.
Thoughts on Elite 64 as a whole
Although there is clearly a lot of work in the bodies of the cars and their speical features, the lack of orginal paint jobs/racing liveries make them a hard sell.
What material is the Mustang's hood? Is it metal or plastic?

I really like the idea but god it hurts the bank. I live in Australia and it ends up costing be like $60 each.
I bought extras to sell just so I could justify buying them for my own collection
Chaser is legendary. Elite 64 seems like it’s another gamble. Any thing now days will be expensive especially because it’s beginning to be like another hype brand lmaoo. Ultimately it’s all for the people and it’s just paper 💸💸💸 Keep on keep’n up with the culture 🏎💨
love the look of the 64

Can you guarantee I get a big chunk out of the front left fender of the Mustang like you got on yours.
Otherwise I like it.
I'll let you know when I finally get my chaser, starting to get worried.
Love the Mustang.
I need that mustang! That's all I'm gonna say.
Yes. Want. Mustang. Now.
I agree. I like the mustang.
I will hapily go for that one. But i personaly am loving this elite 64 line, exciting for my merc to show up seing as i bought 2
