@@fromthedumpstertothegrave3689 as someone who remembers it fairly well, not really. Watching Promising Young Woman feels a lot different when you are a woman. Its been months since I've seen that movie but when they brought up that scene with McLovin and couldn't recall what he did, I remembered exactly what he did. My memory is terrible but I still remember that he forcefully rubbed cocaine on her gums even though she said no and then quickly proceded to put his fingers inside her all the while she kept saying she wanted to leave. I remember seeing the trailer for the first time with the shot of Adam Brody making his way down her body and being genuinely terrified of what was about to happen. I guess not everyone has those visceral reactions to seeing women being assaulted and those stories just aren't going to be as impactful to them, even if that's what the whole movie is about.
@@leoveas9965 hey pal, don't downplay sexual assault on men, just as many men are victims as are woman but the majority go unreported. As men we are told to toughen up and get over, or that we are lucky, in todays society, assault on men is just as big a struggle as it is on women.
It's a great movie. The problem is that the guys didn't understand what they were watching, it's not that it hits differently when you're a woman. It's a necessary gut punch.

@@Corbomite_Meatballs You too must be a dad.
Synchronic just sounds like the episode of Futurama where they lick the heads in jars and travel back in time.
Yes! Great to see Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on RLM. They’re a really cool duo and I loved their last movie, The Endless.
If the walking bucket of blood doesn't scream "AAAIIIIIDSss", then I'm out.
0:54 I thought Mike was going to say he's going to sell his jokes to the 101 Wacky Kids Jokes books.
I like the part where mike said Klingon. Always a Star Trek reference
Knowing that Rich Evans golden voice is immortalized in a full motion picture, makes my heart sing with hope for the future.
Promising young woman was a good movie. Definitely a big twist at the end. 😮. The room dialog was hilarious.
My take on Mimi and PG's relationship is that because she is so selfish, capricious, aggressive, etc. makes it so she's the only person he's met on Earth that he respects.
Half in the Bag: Wheel of the worst edition
I was going to comment something to this effect, but you beat me (off) to it.
"I don't know if the audience really gets what anti-humor is, let's throw in an illustration at the end." - Mike Stoklasa, probably
I love when Chris Evans does bits on this channel.
I saw a lot of pre-video ads for Promising Young Woman on YT a few months ago. Thought it looked stupid. Glad to hear it's actually good.
26:00 - Jays trying-not-to-laugh face brings warm feelings to my heart.
Going off of those Synchronic clips with The Room dialogue on top... Just hire Greg Sestero, cowards! He's gonna deliver your dialogue as good as Jamie Dornan or whoever, he's probably pretty cheap, and I literally won't not enjoy your movie. Either it's good and I like it, or it's bad and I can just giggle about The Room the whole time.
Holy crap, that makes me think: Greg Sestero would be the funniest guest ever for a BOTW. I bet he'd be down for it.
Greg for best of the worst when
They've created a new niche in film, using audio synch & dubbed from an alternative movie with similar plot contrivance. I would love to see Aliens 2 dialogue in the movie Prometheus. Or rutger Kipling's A man who would be king. Or dub the movie Star Gate. Or the movie Alien vs Predator with the Mayan temple.
He was fine in Bly Manor. Stranger things have happened.
They're not cowards. They're hackfrauds.
No, Jay. That movie is the third movie that focused on the pineal gland. The first being *The Leech Woman*
Anyone a fan of talking robots gets what I mean.
that's good naipei?
"Real Africa...Hollywood Africa!"
JEEEEEEEEEEED!
I had to look up The Unearthly to see if the "bunny gland" was supposed to be the pineal gland as well.
It wasn't. It was a synthetic 17th gland. I forgot how dumb that movie was

Eh, you know what? Sorry guys, I'm gonna just take off now.
Ya'lls review of Promising Young Woman made me so happy. Thanks for a great review. Cheers.
Man, I haven't thought about Chad Vader for a long ass time.
I remember watching it yeeeaars back, does it hold up? Found it funny as hell back then.
@@fromthedumpstertothegrave3689 as someone who remembers it fairly well, not really. It has its moments, but really, it should have been SNL style skits where he gets into different situations with no explanation versus a well structured if cliched story about him getting the girl. The jaritos product placements didn't help either.
Some of my friends insisted I sit down and watch Psycho Goreman with them, and it was an absolute blast. Not everything lands, but boy howdy it is never boring. It's nice to see that Mike and Jay enjoyed it. And yes, Rich Evans' role is brief but funny enough that I remembered it. Saw it before I knew who Rich Evans was, so now I'm just like "ohHHHHH, THAT'S THE GUY"
You guys just cure my depression for an 1hr at least

Happy Birthday
congratulations on surviving another year... and not just any year, at that
Happy birthday!!
Besides all this forced attention from your bait comment of course....
🤲🎁 here's another one for you, buddy
Ah, you missed a classic cinematic pineal gland reference! "The Leech Woman" (1960), also featured in MST3k.
Thank you. Great episode (and fun movie, one of the better ones they covered) too. See Leech Woman!
@@bigwinz there's way more women who are victims of sexual assault than men dude, you're being intentionally obtuse
Yep. I remembered exactly. I also remembered that Cassie says out loud what he did just in case anybody wanted to handwave it.
@@leoveas9965 hey pal, don't downplay sexual assault on men, just as many men are victims as are woman but the majority go unreported. As men we are told to toughen up and get over, or that we are lucky, in todays society, assault on men is just as big a struggle as it is on women.
@@brickbusters1940 Show us the statistics to back up your bullshit claim, oh there are none...
It's a great movie. The problem is that the guys didn't understand what they were watching, it's not that it hits differently when you're a woman. It's a necessary gut punch.
Thanks for reviewing A Promising Young Women. I love what you said about how there was a difference between men and women directing/writing rape revenge stories. It’s true. We want justice! I’m glad you both mostly enjoyed it. I did like it, even though it had a lot of unsettling moments.
