  • I'm out on this shoot running my FX Impact M3 in .22 calibre for some BULK pest control shooting. This is a professional pest control cull for a local rabbit and pest bird problem. There is plenty of air rifle hunting and shooting action in this video for you all to watch during the afternoon on the birds (Pigeons, Indian Myna's and Crows). And then after dark on critters with a heap of Rabbits and Rats in the mix.
    Running a modern PCP air rifle with thermal and night vision equipment is a very effective and discreet method in the right hands.
    My FX Impact M3 is shooting on song in .22 calibre firing 23gr Zan slugs. Scope is a PARD DS3570 RF with an onboard LRF with ballistic hold over capability and I'm using a UK made Sirius Reach external laser IR torch. Thermal hand scanner duties went to the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 binoculars. For those interested my FX Impact M3 is running a Huma-Air high flow slug & pellet probe but no other power upgrades. It has a standard 600mm barrel with superior liner (not heavy). I'm firing the 23gr slugs at about 955 fps for sub MOA accuracy (Which as 44 ft/lbs for the UK guys that feel the requirement to know this). Few Sabre Tactical upgrades in the mix to the rifle body like the Arca Rail 2, TRS & bag rider. Air supply is by a ShootAir light weight composite tank to refill the rifle bottle as required.
    A good portion of these rabbits shot are utilised for the pot or pet food.
    I am a licensed vertebrate pest control - contract shooters in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressor, I hold the necessary permit in NSW for use. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.
    Call to action - If you would like to see the continuation of RUclips channels like mine or others. PLEASE consider joining Patreon for further support.

    If you are seeking a PARD DS35 or any other thermal or NV equipment in Australia check out Hunt the Night.

      Especially those friggin Mynas. They've exploded in population the past five years, they used to never be in my area west of the Blue Mountains, now they're an epidemic. So often I see them competing with native birds, it's terrible.

    • @brettstevenson986
      @brettstevenson986 Год назад +6

      Some people say don't bring army in to clean ferals out..people need a hobby and pocket money in the bush meanwhile our natives go existent.if a decent bounty was for toads you certainly have some grub breeding toad's..yes Australia ain't the same..im writing to government band cat ownership from rural areas..we vote native animals can't talk but we can..not even a reply..

      @victorbitter583 Год назад +6

      Our ancestors were fools to bring them here. They should be ashamed of themselves for having done so, along with many other introduced species. Not that they could have known what destruction they would bring.
      The changes that rabbits alone have made to the detriment of the landscape of this country, both on the coastal fringes and the harsh interior cannot be overstated.
      The inland of Australia was a lot more lush that it is now, 250 yrs ago.
      Imagine rabbit plaques totaling Billions, roaming around. There has been many of them. The erosion that causes to the land is devastating /rant.

    It is totally astounding how far airguns have come since I was a kid. These FX fellows are now doing the same and more than a 22 rimfire depending on the muzzle energy. The big difference is that a top of the range FX PCP can be two grand - whereas a 22 rimfire is now virtually worthless and can be picked up for coppers ! Great vid as usual lad - keep em coming.

    Some of the best fun I've had recently was at a friends farm...
    We used air rifles to thin out the rats..
    It is astounding how many rats came out at night ...
    My friend & I spent 6 hours shooting rats , from 11 pm til 5 am. We shot every round we had .
    I didnt count the kills, but the farmers wagon was heaping full.
    Had to be 300 - 500 rats.

    Those 100 yards plus shots were impressive. Many a shooter could not do them with .22lr. I shoot benchrest and we now limit ourselves to 75 yards because some of the older guys could not see well enough to do the 100 yards. Also, their groups were getting a bit big to be good for the ego.
