- We will look at this wild edible that is found around much of North America. It grows even in very cold weather and climates. Does it help with wound healing? We will look at the research.
Great info. I have a ton of this in my backyard. My mom calls it quesitos (little cheeses). She’s used it for to drain boils and reduce inflammation. I never thought it could really work but reading all this info is interesting. Thank you.
How does she use this plant? I am very interested.
@@teresaproaps3621 you can steep some leaves in hot water and apply the liquid to the wound/boil with a clean cloth or you can put a leaf on the boil and cover it with a bandage. This plant is also edible so you can drink the tea or cook with it.
@@lettyv6545 thank you!
Love this series! Yes, mallow, marshmallow, and hollyhock are mucilaginous and are great for dry, hot conditions. It's often helpful for dry respiratory conditions and/or gut issues. :)
When Daniel in the Bible was among those taken into captivity by the Babylonians, he and 3 friends ask for herbs and vegetables instead of food from the kings table and water to replace wine.
After a short period of time they were healthier than the ones eating food provided from the king's table.
That alone tells me most herbs are healthy, I never knew what to use for what so this is most helpful. So videos like this one is most helpful especially since I'm a 79 year old type 2 diabetic. Thank you so much.
Seems like the ancient people have a lot more common sense than some of the pharmaceuticals! I would trust them more! Great video!😊🌱
Another herb that is excellent for wound healing and also sprains/broken bones is Comfrey. Also good for gut repair as in leaky gut as it has plant collagen to to repair the leaks. 😀
You are right about that. I recorded a video on that a few weeks ago and it is coming out soon. Thanks Janna!
Our Mallow leaves are big enough now for wrapping food in.
I’ve been eating malvas since I was 2 years old , I’m from a small town in Mexico so I can see why people started eating this plant as it’s so nutritious and cheap. I usually eat it with zuchini and homemade tortillas along with a green salsa. Does anyone else eat it ? If so what part of the world are you from?
Ive been snacking and captivated by this plant for the last two months. This is my favorite plant so far.
Me too it’s delicious and also grows wild here
Panhandle of Texas and we have just discovered this as a delicious alternative to spinach. Thanks for the recipe suggestion. We'll try it!
@@cigileyAtTR thanks man I always sabots my favorite food because it always reminds me where I came from and tbh it’s so good
@@HawaiiSustainable Hawaii?
Thank you :) amazing plant of God's creation! Just watched a good video from Homegrown Herbalist on it.
Here in Chihuahua Mx , there is a lot,; and it grows wild.
Do people eat it?
In 20 mallow was found
to be sufficient for human health with high protein, vitamin C and rich mineral content.
The "rich" content in terms of mineral substances which
affect human nutrition and health.
These wild vegetables can contribute significantly those with in daily diets of poor
people. More studies are needed to investigate the possibilities of cultivating wild vegetables in more
demanding species.
Id like to know how to use it as a wound healer. Do you make a poultice, extract the juice , drink the tea, make a tincture, or all of the above?
Hawai’i too it’s delicious
