Mallow is my favorite plant. It's what got me started wildcrafting. I use it in my soaps, balms, teas and to snack on while I'm in the garden. Here in California, our mallow has tiny little purple flowers so people just treat it like a weed. But it's so wonderful.

@VizAnyaMSC, I picked some from my yard and sauteed them with garlic. Yummy! I will try the plants as tea. Do you use the roots and leaves? I can't believe I have been pulling this "weed" and throwing it away for years without realizing how wonderful it is for us. Cheers.

@thisorthat7626 I use mostly the roots but leaves and flowers too. I add mint, honey and a little lemon. I cold brew it for 8 hours in the fridge. It's good for sore throats, too.

Amazing info as always Dane! I’ve been banging on to my son about this plant as it was growing abundantly in his garden! He pulled up a lot dismissing it as a weed!! I’m sending him this in the hope he will respect it as a gift! Honour what it has to offer to the bees and all its healing! 🐝🌀🦋

then surely pop tarts have melted their brains to duff. Your own passionate love of all that grows is what i appreciate the most, besides your great story telling and plant info..which is spot on i might add. Mallow seeds are second to eating berries in my world. Thanks for the good time!

🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀 it’s made to create cheese. It’s a thickener otherwise you would have to kill a calf, open it up its stomach and get the juices Rennett for making cheese.
Also, jams jellies like pectin 🫕

The first time I noticed Mallow it was growing out of our pavement at our front door. We kept walking on it as we went in the door. When I was looking at nutritional herbs , I recognised it from watching RUclips and in books. Then I was happy that it started popping up in our back yard. The rabbit loves it, but the chickens leave it alone.
