I’ve recently started utilising the wonderful power of these seeds. A tea spoon of dried seeds into my kefir and frozen fruit smoothie each morning has given me a wakefulness with even only a few hours sleep to get through my shifts at work without using caffeine which is only a placebo that tires my neurospicy brain lol
I've suffered from hay fever for years And the thing I've found is that nettle tea is the best thing to help me through the day. I pick them fresh with some mint leaves. Brew them up in a pan. And drink it throughout the day. Sometimes add some raw honey. The young leaves at the top are best.
Wow i didn't realise you got male and female nettles!! I have been eating baby nettle leaves for about 6 months and feel much healthier...gonna try and find some seeds now thanks 💚
Stinging nettle seeds are great for poultry, my turkeys go out of their way to eat them and my chickens eat the bits the turkeys drop because they aren't tall enough to pick their own. I cook with nettles a lot so will share a recipe that I call Bubble and Sting. It is like Bubble and Squeak but with steamed nettles replacing the cabbage, when mixed with left over mashed spuds and then fried it is absolutely heavenly. I live in Bulgaria and all parts of the nettle are used for food and medicine, there is a great herbal medicine tradition here and if you go to see your GP you are just as likely to be prescribed herbal medicine as big pharma stuff. At the moment I am gathering artemesia, we are going to add it to our apricot rakia (demon, home made spirit) for a new take on absinthe.
My first trip abroad was Bulgaria.. just missed out on a heatwave but lovely memories.. :) Big Pharma can go f**k themselves :) here in the UK you can eat every single piece of the Dandelion. .the flower /stem/ root , especially (can be dried out and used as a coffee) I'm still learning about natures free foods & medicines. Thank you for your input and knowledge :)
I did it!😊 Well I passed on the knowledge of identifying the nettle seeds to my husband and he harvested some for me as I’m disabled and unable to walk far. I did the rest of the work- that’s the deal😁. Now I have a jar of dried nettle seeds and I add a teaspoon to my yogurt and mix them in. It’s beneficial to my mental health as well as physical and I’m trying hard to improve both. I’m learning a lot from your videos- and so is my husband, I’m very lucky he shares my enthusiasm ❤.
Great videos, extremely educational. I grew up in Germany with a lot of stinging nettles. Fortunately, my mom taught that stinging nettles are NOT a weed but a healthy medicinal plant. But you've taken it a step further with your info. Thank you so much!

ancient native americans would collecrt nettle all the time- through the years, they figured out that our spit neutralizes the poison of nettle leaves- they would lick their finger BEFORE plucking leaves to do it without pain=)
This is fantastic information. I have been using the leaves for several years but did not know what a nutritional dynamo the seeds are. I will definitely harvest seeds this year and will let the small Nettle patch at the edge of my property expand. I will also add your your book to the Foraging section of my home library.
THANK YOU! I'm a dedicated forager in Ohio, where we have lots of nettles, but I haven't run in to any for about 25 years; not because they aren't here-- just because I haven't looked in the right places. Until TODAY! This video helped to confirm my identification. Like you, I'm interested in everything about plants: medicine, food, history, myth, and magic, so my apothecary is extensive, along with books I've compiled. I have recipe books that include the nutritional, medicinal, and magical properties of ingredients. I have foraging maps I've drawn, with marked paths and photos showing where and when I found my treasures in the woods and meadows that surround me. And I have a thick tome containing detailed information on every plant, on every jar, on my shelves. And my jar labels have so much information on them that they look like they are FDA (and witch!) approved! Finally, stinging nettles were brought to the United States from England -- Europe. My ancestors came here almost 400 years ago. Do they bring nettles? They certainly used them, along with many other plants I forage. So now I have a connection to my ancestors. To history. And to You! How cool is that? So glad I found you. Subscribed.
I have a question. When you forage nettles, what do you do about the bugs you accidentally collect with them? I collected a some nettles recently for the first time to make some tea, but when it came to putting them into my pot, I realised I had a load of bugs too, and I couldn’t bring myself to boil them, so I put them on my lawn and have effectively wasted them. But I didn’t want to kill the little guys, I didn’t realise I’d picked up so many, I felt like such an ass. How do you get around that?
Absolutely love your enthusiasm. Never tried the nettle seeds. I will try them now . I use nettle to reduce arthritis joint pain by stinging the area of inflammation. Sounds weird but it relieves the pain in the joint affected. Iv got used to the sting and enjoy relief from a worse pain for several days.
Nettle Tea is a good antihistamine one if my Turkish rescue dogs has it in his food it's the only thing that works for him also goud for chronic fatigue so it helps me as well

I would not have known male and female. I know they're good for you though. Love and blessings to you and your family ❤
Perhaps an important sidenote: Nettle is a powerfull agent to bind heavy metals in her being from the soil, it is because of the magnesium ions in her abundant chlorofyl. Advisable not to collect around heavy industry, busy roads or otherwise poluted grounds.. This also means, when the magnesium ions are vacant, they are able to withdraw heavy metals from out bodies and thus a strong detoxifier.
So, in most countries where the bulk of populations live in or near towns with heavy traffic it is not advisable to pick nettles. Option therefore only available to a relative few.

I can confirm this works as I have suffered for about 2 years with gout and tried everything (apart from big pharma crap!) It works.
