Great knot! Is this as strong or reliable as doing double Blood knots? I'm using 20 lb mono and connecting 50 lb mono as a leader instead of wire (for striped bass and the inevitable blue fish).
Tied this dropper loop knot a million times & completely trust it. Not sure why its so much more reliable than a blood knot but it is. Never failed on me. Looking for the proven strongest lowest profile knot to slip through guides easily (casting) for big tuna. I think this may be it for mono to fluoro.
I've tried this knot with 10 lb mono to 14 lb mono and 10 to 20 lb fluoro. Didn't hold well at all. But nothing else has either. I must be doing something wrong.

Nope. Id recommend googling the RP knot for that or fg if you want a stronger guarantee.
