- Ellie Garcia, who lost her life in the elementary school mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, loved the movie “Encanto.” A costume team at Disney sent a custom-made dress of Ellie’s favorite character, Isabella. Ellie’s 10th birthday would have been this Saturday. Disney also sent the Garcias a swatch of the fabric and flowers used to create Ellie’s dress. The actress Adassa, who voiced Dolores in the movie, sent the family a video message.

Everyone should be able to own a weapon to defend themselves but there is no need for civilians to have military grade assault weapons so many more kids would have lived but that’s just my opinion

My condolences, really. This is just terrible. She, of many victims as young as 8 can’t go back to their families because of that damn monster that held that shotgun. @@Silver-jn3jl Same thing happened with Sandy Hook, but it took them 40 minutes to stop the shooting versus 75 minutes. They also didn't let parents in at sandy hook but if I were a parent, I would have been that mom who got her 2 kids out or shoot through the window. I hope the police officers in charge that day get fired, sure 12 were shot instantly but they could have saved 5 to 7 more lives

My son turns 10 in a couple weeks, and I couldn’t imagine not having him. This family is dealing with an unimaginable situation. I hope all the people who have been hurt by this horrific incident can find peace. My heart hurts for all of them!

I cried when I hear about each of the sweet people taken too. The poor families. This is a time to remember those that we all lost and to stand as one side by side

This is just heartbreaking. No child should have to go through this. She looked so young and would have had a long life ahead of her, but thanks to the shooter, she couldn’t even wear an amazing dress that she got. Poor girl, she was always seen smiling in all her pictures. She looks like and reminds me of my niece who is going to be 10 in July and also likes the character Isabella this breaks my heart

It’s even sadder knowing that all these poor victims had parents who truly loved them. They all had loved ones, things they loved doing, and unique personalities that made them who they were. But their lives ended up being taken in such a cruel and heartless way. It’s really heartbreaking.
This is why my parents home schooled me after I finished elementary school

In the police manual, it literally says that they should always be ready to put the life of a child before theirs. They let these kids die.

She looked exactly like my sister at her age same skin tone and everything, I can’t imagine the heartbreak the grief the loneliness, and biggest hole in the heart. The fact that I can't even go to school without worrying that something like this might happen is horrible. I feel so bad for all of the children and families who went through this. I wish I could say that I can't believe that this happened, but the sad truth is that this world is filled with monsters like the killer that day. May she, and all of the others rest in peace.
