  • In this video I am presenting the artworks and studies I have been working on lately. I really want to get better at watercolor, also watercolor/colored pencils, but I also did some charcoal and acrylics and of course oil-on-paper dry brushing, which I am showing you in this video. It's mostly a recap I made for future me, sorry! :D
I am also talking a bit about video ideas I have for this channel, so if you wanted to let me know what you think of those, that'd be great!

That painting of the dog is so amazing! You did really well with all those insanely small details! 😍💪👌👌

Thank you so much! 😍 And for watching until the puppy actually appeared in the video! 😅 I hope you're doing well and being creative. Take care, Jen! 🌸

all your portraits are stunning! even the minimalist one is beautiful. My favorite is the one at timestamp 10:54, the one you're not in love with, but looks so awesome to me.

I guess the problem is if you have a vision and then your painting doesn't quite match that. 😅 I'm sure you have had this where you made something you didn't completely love, but other people did, right? 😊

@@oilonpaper Oh I do understand what you mean! My kids laugh at me when I do my videos because all they hear me say is, "Oh no! I don't like this!" "What is that? So ugly!" And they say, "That's exactly why Mama can't do a live video." haha

yeah, I'd love a video of how to study a face and how to actually make a portrait... I'd love to learn from you

Congratulations, Ginger, you're probably the only person who actually watched the entire video. 💐😊 I appreciate that!
I'm still on the idea. It just takes more planning to make a good tutorial, so I need to actually take the time. 😅 But I think I'll break up the topic into smaller pieces and make bite-sized videos for now. I think I can do that. 😊 Thank you for the comments! 😊

@@oilonpaper Yes, I did watch from end to end. I feel frustrated at times when we RUclipsrs work so hard to plan, strategize, paint, video, edit, and finally upload one huge work, only for the audience to spend 30 seconds out of our 20 minute offering. So yeah... I always like fellow creators to know I appreciate their effort. We're not being paid to do this. So we need a ton of pats on the back to stay motivated. So Steffi, you've done so well! Keep up the great work! If I can only give you more than one thumb up, I would have done that already.

@@GingerUmali Aw, you're so sweet! Thank you so much! I feel at this point I worked through most of that frustration, but it's still sometimes a bit sad. But you can look at it this way: when the channel is a bit bigger, there will be some people who really like your style and they will gladly search for more content in your older videos. So we're making videos now for our future fans, so to speak. 😅😉
