Returning Vietnam Vets. in my junior college were almost literally "killing" scholarship athletes who thought it would be a cake walk like their HS career. Even in Debate we clobbered USC and other teams on "full ride" scholarships due to their high income HS and daddy being in a big law firm. NOT this time.

To be fair, it's easier to think of the mile as 1600m or the first lap being 409m.

Rheinhardt Harrison bout to break the all time high school record for 1 mile. Man ran 4:01 for the full mile sophomore year. He could easily run sub 3:55 senior year.

Boxing Supraves that’s pretty fast. I run a 2:06 rn. To say you can run a 2 flat unless you don’t have talent is stupid. It’s definitely fast. Not the fastest time ever, but objectively fast
Boxing Supraves I don’t want know what grade your in, but I’m a Junior in High school. And that’s varsity time, again not saying it’s really good or that I’m special, because I’m not. But it’s way faster than your average person, therefore making it fast. Also not sure you run a “easy work” 2 min 800. Because honestly all the fast runners don’t brag about how fast they are.

people ask why track runners became disconnected with pros/people to look up to... its because of flotrack and milesplit monetizing and having extremely shitty commentators. lots of people turn to running simply because they cant afford expensive gear/training that other sports require... so no we cant afford milesplit or flotrack subscription...
