Galen Rupp runs 3:50.92 in the mile at the 2013 BU Terrier Invitational in an American Record attempt at the distance. The time was the second fastest all-time by an American and the fifth fastest all-time in the world. Bernard Lagat still owns the American record with his 3:49.89.

Considering Galen never failed a drug test, I would say it's pretty valid. Means he was playing to the maximum limit of the rules

I don’t even think they care because it’s so lucrative for them to win I definitely wonder, I’ve watched a lot of videos on it and they say most are encouraged to use because it makes the country look good. If no ones judging you I’m sure most wouldn’t bat an eye over it. Sad because a lot of us just trying to get to the top would also have to cheat to even be on the same playing field and if you’re not willing to they will find someone else. I agree we shouldn’t say guilty until proven innocent it’s innocent until proven guilty. I remember thinking as soon as the first lap was slow that they didn’t stand a chance, but a good attempt despite the shy first pacer. It’s just too hard to drop 2 seconds from the 1st to 2nd 200 and still have a shot at the record.
And now imagine Jacob Ingebrigtsen abolutely obliterating them, lol.
Wearing those OG Nike Vics it looks like, 5-6 years after they came out (Alan Webb wore them in the AR mile). More proof those were THE BEST spikes Nike has ever made

well more widely available training regiments and better spikes always help
All The Salazar athletas can run wathever distance in the same year and break previous word records, if they were of my country and their patrocinious weren’t of nike, these maybe very suspect moreover after the actualy knowledge
I would also add that this is an attempt on the INDOOR American record. At the time of this race Steve Scott held the US record for the mile at 3:47.69.
