Michael Rodriguez maybe not. Ever hear of a cesarean section wise guy?
No he didn't. He was back there the entire time.
I know! Bruno Mars is fast!
Fast with the ladies and his feet!😆

Imagine running a 4:20 minute mile and getting last
Yeah it’s crazy and if you run a 4:20 in high school you don’t really have a great chance at getting into a top track school like Stanford(if the mile is your main event).
If you look at the list of Stanford track commits any of the mile runners advertise a mile time of under 4:10, and it’s usually close to or sometimes under 4:00.
4:20 lol
nice
I dont understand, that's the best time to get

99.99 no way 1 in every 100 people run a 5 min mile let alone 420
Congrats to all of them. Even last place is a winner. It's very difficult to run a mile in 4 mins
No, last place is not a winner.
First place is the winner.
Doing something difficult doesn't mean you "win" anything.
Especially when a dozen people do that difficult thing better than you.
@@joejones5491 You can say what you want but you're wrong. Words mean things.
If everyone was a winner either way then it wasn't a competition. And if it wasn't a competition there is no winner.
Just because someone ran around for a while doesn't automatically mean they won something.
@@joejones5491 I didn't win anything today because I didn't compete today.
You have to compete to win.
You can't "win" respect.
Respect isn't a prize.
You can earn it but you can't "win" it.
Are you actually this stupid or just trying to be a dumbass on purpose?
joe jones gottem
@@brokenwave6125 I gotta agree with you. Everyone who says "they are all winners" has never competed to be the best. You only win if you actually get 1st. Anything else doesnt count. Thats what makes a top tier athlete, the will to be the best! And these guys give everything to win. Just competing simply is not enough...
I hit 8 minutes... and some change... that was my lowest mile time... I CANNOT imagine running a mile in 3 minutes and 59 seconds...
The military standard is 1 mile in 6 minutes for men and i think 10 minutes for women
@@CJCCBoi honestly doubt that the majority of them actually get a 6 min mile
@@accentor713 to score *100%* on the armys pt test in the running section you have to run 2 miles in 13 minutes, not to mention the fact that you have to complete the situps and pushups sections both before starting the run.. Its like 70 pushups and 80 situps to get 100% in those.. So youre gonna be literally testing yourself..
@@CJCCBoi many of the other previous servicemen/women? have stated, almost 99% of those in the military are clueless when it comes to how fast they are running.
As a currently enlisted member of the Air Force I can say with certainty that less than 1% of the military can run a SINGLE mile in under 6 minutes, let alone 7 straight.
I just set the base record for the 1.5 mile run at 7:22, beating the longstanding record of 8:27....the general military population unfortunately is not a place to find fast running individuals.

A year ago is kinda relative
Update: This was 3 years ago
At 45 went out and timed a mile. Completely out of shape. 8:45. Bout killed me. Worked on it hard for about 2-3 months, hit 5:52. PB is 5:46 in college. Pretty thrilled to break 6. Never competed in it but played soccer and hockey my whole life. Can't even imagine breaking 5 much less 4. Motorin
Sean O heck yeah man that’s a really good improvement!
Sean O I don’t mean it as an insult but at your age that’s amazingly good. I’m sure that if you made that much progress in 2-3 months that if you made it your goal of breaking five you could for sure do it.
@@eiyuu257 No insult taken. I was a bit surprised by it myself and that's why I threw it up here. More and.more examples are out there that you really can retain youth through fitness. Seeing these guys scoot to 4 is insane though. And inspiring. I'm guessing 5:20's for me if I really really dedicated to it. Big gains in the beginning are fun, but 5 second gains near your peak are brutal. Fun stuff
@@157dodgers Was working out like a fiend with a bunch of buddies for almost a year. We threw in running for a few months just to help with the routine we were doing. Similiar ages. Similar 1st times and similar end times. Hills. Well, one hill for exactly 1 mile that had major increases in incline every few hundred yards. It was the hill we feel that jacked up our times so quickly. First bunch of runs we had to walk alot of it. By the 3rd month we were kickin the last 100 yards where it had an insane slope. That did it. Hit the hills peeps, for time. You'll turn into superman. :)
Sean O I believe that you can do it. My biggest inspiration while I ran competitively was my coach who at the age of 65 was beating a majority of the people on the cross country team I was a part of and I’m sure never actually ran seriously because he was never out of breath and everyday before practice at 6 am he would have already ran 3 miles as a warmup. I really don’t believe that age factors in that much and that’s its all about what work you put in.
My best mile ever was a 4:23 in college. Was pretty happy with that.
3:39 arizona coach, yelling "give it to them"
This commentator made me think I was watching rick and morty for a second.
I used to do a mile in 12 minutes in high school. Now my best is 7 min 42 but I really want to train to get under 6 minutes. Only thing is you gotta be able to sprint for that long to get within 6 so I can’t imagine 4 minutes
Getting sub 6 doesn’t require anything near a sprint 😂 we warm up with 6:20s before races usually and that’s a pretty mellow pace.
@@donaldtrump6386 you’re not special buddy, no need to make this guy feel bad, 6 minutes is harder for some people than others
Well that was totally unexpected!

Ethan W no dude that’s definitely 300m
UNiversity of Washington for you
It’s about 308m. That’s why the start lines are all weird
It’s because it’s an inner race track. A 300 meters track is always used for inner races and competitions
That is freaking insane! Never seen that fast of a closing sprint in a distance event. Motivates me to go out for a run. Thanks for posting.
Word on the street. I love the inside scoop. This announcer is legit.
I swear everyone in the track is pushing each other hard to make this crazy record. First place wouldn’t have happened without everyone participating. It’s really crazy yet amazing.
What a great way to break 4:00! Wow!- Stephen Ethridge waiting to turn 75 on 6/12/2019 and THEN to go for records. Mile, 3k, maybe 800 meters etc.
Man watching these track videos makes me want to get back into running and keep improving my mile time. I wish there were open tracks near me because I dislike trail running unless I have a partner. Soon I’ll have more time and will be in a different state so hopefully I can start running again then
What happened to the tall guy who was leading at the start... he just pulled of to the side at the 1/2 way mark??
J PR He was a pace setter. They just needed him to complete 800 meters in under 2 minutes.
Excellent race. Thanks flo track
Love the passionate commentating!!
That was unexpected from Carlos. Great job, man!!
Anyone else wonder how they don’t step on the back of each other shoes
1800 theplug it gets very sketchy. In high school cross country we would have 100+ people meets and the first corner was always full of elbows and tripping
I got spiked at the start of an invite on my achilles. Somehow I only got a scratch that bled a little. One of my teammates running behind me saw it happen.
They remove the backs of their racing shoes before each race. It's a removable piece.
When the person in front lets their leg swing up and spikes the shin or kneecap of the person behind them the problem solves is solved very quickly and a hand to the back slightly pushing front runner will stop them from spiking you.
Because they run pretty much at the same speed, I am a runner and a cycliste, and it the same in the peloton.
That is difficult as heck man. Respect
Amazing finish!

One of the few non-clickbait titles
What happened to the guy who started in first- why did he quit?
He is called the rabbit. In record attempts, Rabbits are used to set a record pace. They are only the pace setter. Though they seem fast, they run out of steam long before the end, usually freshmen get the call to pace the field.
So he was just toying with them all the way before the finish
Amazing! Surely it’s harder on a 300m track? Or does being indoors with no wind mitigate this?
That kick!!
