Instilling fear of physical harm in a child is psychological torture. Fear permeates every aspect of a kid's life

Finally, children have support! Why has this taken so long?!
I support this, and any action taken, to prevent and give more help for the children, especially in Foster Care. They also sometimes, are abused. 🙏🧡🙏🧡🙏

In response to the discussion on schools vs home schooling, maybe a second line of assistance would be to require a student physical for home schooled children. I fully support homeschooling, but a child’s safety is essential. Taking your child to a doctor and/or dentist on an annual or semi-annual basis shouldn’t be a problem if you are not abusing or torturing them. The most important issue is finding a way to protect the children because no child should be abused or tortured. They deserve better.
These types of cases are not new. They are simply becoming more common. It’s this very issue as to why I say all teachers and school district staff, physicians, EMTs (first responders), clergy, law enforcement, and social service staff should be required to read, “A Child Called It”. This true story details the horrific physical and psychological abuse and torture of a little boy. Everybody missed it and it went on for far too long. I would also suggest that every state and federal legislator read it. It really puts this issue in perspective. It would be interesting to know his thoughts on what would have helped.
The physician was correct in stating that this is a nationwide issue. Every state needs to pay attention to this and take appropriate action.

Sir, if you still have people severely abusing and torturing children, the prison sentences are clearly not long enough to act as a deterrent.

The difference between a coach having someone do exercises and a parent punishing a child with exercises is that it's the parents intent to break the child's spirit

I doubt there has really been an increase, been going on for generations. These days our eyes are more open, news outlets report more often, courageous children report more often. Society finally listening.
How long have troubled-teen wilderness camps been going on?

Those two should stay in prison the maximum allowed by current legislation, ie 30 years.
