Halo Infinite's engine is the Halo 5 one with a new shader/material system (ProcMats) and some other improvements. The "SlipSpace Engine" never really existed, or at least it seems it was scrapped after some time during development, probably due to hardware limitations from the older Xbox One consoles they wanted to support. @@WonderMePartyStrip because gameplay design wise just the closest it's been to halo 3. Halo 1/2 same gameplay. Halo 3 had pickup equipment(so does H:I) halo reach and 4 had class systems. I had a feeling that Infinite’s Sidearm was similar to the Gunfighter Mag But compared to 5’s OG Magnum and how DEADLY that bitch was, it doesn’t even compare…makes me wish the sidearm was that. The game was too sweaty sometimes, so I'm glad that the sidekick is a great reproduction of being, well... a sidekick. I'm not a fan of the high (albeit fast) bloom, but on short range it's incredibly satisfying and I think they did an amazing job on that.
The halo cycle post 3. OG is held in high regard, new game is shat on immensely, new game afterwards is shat on and previously slandered game is looked back upon fondly until it is considered an OG. Not to say this is unique to halo, it's just very evident as of late.
Absolutely dope! I've been looking for a comparison video for the pistols like this! The animation is very similar to the magnum in Halo infinite, especially the idle animation! Good stuff, man! 😁👍🏻
I wish there was some way they made the infinite weapons actually utilize the model scopes. Like what’s the point of the side kick having sights if you use holographic whatever
Probably the same reason guns still have iron sights despite most people putting aftermarket sights on- because if your sights go down you need a back up
As odd and as cartoon-ish as the sound design was in Halo 5, it still gave the sound of each weapon some degree of character. Infinite was designed with the intention of appealing to "modern audiences", so that meant all sense of character was reduced to the most generic of designs possible. Granted, an attempt at authenticity remains present, but it too was massively reduced -- Firing weapons sometimes have a fair punch to them in Infinite, so at least those sounds commanded a fair amount of respect. The AR still suffers from peashooter syndrome, though. The really odd thing is that Halo's sound design was known for its characteristic qualities, so much so that merely playing those sounds back induces a strong sense of nostalgia in many people. Halo 4's sound was reasonably controversial for its stronger sense of realism, also deviating from expressionistic character. The difference between there and Infinite though is I believe they adhered strongly to this realism, that most weapons have appropriate punch, thereby inducing respect for its potency, yet also understood the physical differences between each weapon and sounded them accordingly so you could still tell each weapon apart naturally -- Each weapon has a certain cadence to them corresponding to their physical design, realistic or not. Some weapons' clinks though made them sound like toys to many people, I think that's the one aspect where Halo 4's sound truly fails. For the complaint that the game is "too loud", notice, volume options exist in the pause menu. Halo 5 took an extremely basic approach with weapon sound design, making the most basic of bangs, booms and chinks for the human weapons, the most basic of pew-pews and *_[GJEEOOOWW!!]_* -s for the alien weapons and slightly weirder pew-pews and *_[GJEEOOOWW!!]_* -s for the Promethean weapons. You can tell them apart, alright, but the sense of potency and respect is largely lost, despite the _(sometimes)_ more realistic visual graphics. It may be a reattempt at expressionistic character, but it seems the creativity present in the original Halos remained absent. But the sound of Halo 5 is still quite distinct from the rest, and is fairly characteristic, even if stupidly so. Halo Infinite barely tries on any front and takes the most generic route. Creatively, characteristically and realistically, even when compared to Halo 5, it is severely lacking. It serves the gameplay by being as generic as possible so you pay it no mind, so that seems beneficial, except you'd tend to get used to the sound or ignore it to focus on the gameplay anyways, no matter the sound, so is there any benefit? As aforementioned, some weapons have good punch, but there's barely any expressive character, barely any cadence, barely even a cartoon-ish exaggeration. Realistic reverberations of the sound are quite impressive, but the sound itself is desperately lacking other than for sheer amplitude, sometimes. Truthfully, Halo Infinite doesn't sound bad, but this is _Halo,_ not Call of Duty, and no matter how well fine-tuned the gameplay is, part of Halo's identity has been lost, as much of its iconography was its sound design. The more and more people say "it's just fine" or "it doesn't matter", the more and more the talent for good sound design diminishes. Not just the old, iconic sound of Halo, but any creative or realistic push either, for any game or piece of media. Will we ever achieve something as creative and as awe inspiring as _Halo: Combat Evolved_ if it all doesn't matter?
Halo will never hit the peak it did during the 00s. The game just isn't doing anything better than their competitors. The game is just so cookie cutter and uninspired

I actually really love the Sidekick and the gameplay it promotes. The BR, Stalker, and soon DMR still have that slower precision. But starting with an AR and Sidekick in Infinite is fun!
What I likeabout the sidekick is its different enough from the other halos renditions of the magnum but not as different as the halo 2 pistol that it feels like it's own thing and treated like you would treat an actual sidearm, a last resort you'd use that's faster than reloading, but still does enough damage that it can feel like a usable weapon in most fights
Didn’t like how for Halo 5 a lot of the permanent weapon variants were all locked behind a loot box system and didn’t go with a challenge unlock system instead. The H2 BR, Gunfighter Magnum and the ODST pistol are all guns I’ve still never unlocked after hours upon hours of grinding.
the fact that the magnum is gone but the assault rifle is still in the game makes me so pissed because yes, the assault rifle has been in the game since the start but so was the magnum and then they go and replace it with a faster firing pea shooter, while the assault rifle gets TURNED INTO THE DAMN SAW IN INFINITE
The AR is just much more important and iconic to the brand than the Magnum is. Which is evidently proven since the Sidekick proves as an adequate replacement for most people while H2's SMG left people wanting the AR back.
Magnum in Halo 5 was outstanding and incredibly satisfying to use. All its variants. The design and the gunplay was amazing. That distinct sounds it made when fired. So satisfying. It felt really powerful. In slo-mo shots can't help but appreciate the animation of that barrel moving. It's very satisfying animation. I really dislike Sidekick in Infinite. It looks like more like a pistol from modern COD. It sounds weak and feels more like airsoft gun shooting bbs. No kick or power there.
No halo 5 pistol looks and feels too sci fi for halo. Doesn’t have any distinctive militaristic features on the weapon. The new pistol fits halos identity more
@@Karasamune tell me you’ve never played halo CE-Reach without telling me you’ve never played them. Halo is literally based off of aliens and starship troopers. The two pinnacles of the military sci fi genre. Learn what your talking about before you write nonsense
The Sidekick didn't end up being enough like the Gunfighter Magnum. Giving it a higher fire rate, a smaller magazine, and making it take one more shot to kill all combined to make it a weapon that encourages spamming your shots as quickly as possible. You're not likely to earn a kill with what's left in the magazine, and the reload is so fast, so there's no real point in being careful with your shots, especially because you're most likely going to use it at shorter ranges. I feel like all they had to do was make a sick shot kill weapon that fit between the DMR and Carbine in fire rate, and that would be a good middle ground for a starting weapon. The Gunfighter Magnum was meant to be a more reasonable version of the default Magnum. But 343 never gave it quite enough aim assist and bullet magnetism to be reliable. You could use it on a few maps and Halo 5 right now, and it's definitely harder to use than the default Magnum. Infinite was their chance to improve on it, and they went in the wrong direction. Like so many other things.
I'm not a fan of Halo Infinite's weapon sandbox/gameplay in general. Halo Infinite technical preview did it right, current version made everything worse.
The Sidekick and the Gunfighter Magnum are both sidearms, in the same class of rapid fire handguns. Comparing the Sidekick to the Halo 5 Magnum wouldn’t make sense.

I like the design of Halo 5 pistol and I like the sound of the Halo infinite pistol.
Obviously we all know that if it was the regular sidearm from both campaigns, and the gunfighter mag, that infinite's would win hands down
I miss the Halo 5 pistol. The infinite pistol just isn't as satisfying to fire. The variants of the magnum were also amazing.
The new pistol fits halos identity more
@@ganggang2537 bruh the Halo 5 pistol is literally the Magnum.... And Halo is a sci-fi shooter. Take off the nostalgia goggles
@@Karasamune tell me you’ve never played halo CE-Reach without telling me you’ve never played them. Halo is literally based off of aliens and starship troopers. The two pinnacles of the military sci fi genre. Learn what your talking about before you write nonsense
Hard to tell which one I prefer... I like infinites more but the mussel flash and sound don't really do it for me...
The Sidekick is OP AF
Love the sidekick
Which game had the better assassinations...
Well definitely enlightening!
I like both.
Aesthetically, Halo 5 was a better looking game than Halo Infinite. Watching the stitching in the gloves as the firearm fires as a thing of beauty.
I never talked shitt about Halo 5 ... i really liked the armor modification system in it i mean u can change the colours without money
tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know that weapons could be inspected in halo 5 and halo infinite
Yo Zo, I'm curious about the sentinel beams and variants across H5 and Infinite. Let's do something about that yeah?
I get there could be other caliber type pistols, but for God sake, they need to add the m6 back
sidekick for sure. feels more solid
Sidekick is just straight up boring too use imo.
I'm not a fan of Halo Infinite's weapon sandbox/gameplay in general. Halo Infinite technical preview did it right, current version made everything worse.
Hay algún botón para hacer eso??
Never realized that halo 5s multiplayer really isnt that bad after i played infinite
Your using I think is the Gunfighter variant of the Halo 5 magnum which has a higher ROT then the standard Halo 5 magnum. Kinda skews the comparison.
The Sidekick and the Gunfighter Magnum are both sidearms, in the same class of rapid fire handguns. Comparing the Sidekick to the Halo 5 Magnum wouldn’t make sense.
Hey, can we get Halo 5 on PC already?
Why’d he choose the gunfighter instead of the normal magnum ?
So far design wise excluding the armor i have a preference towards halo 5 over infinite and H3 over them all at the moment. Also the damn hud in infinite is driving me nuts. They better fix that soon or give us the option to return it to classic hud. Same way mcc gave us the option to change the reticle from being central to lowered
The sidekick is amazing, performance wise. I hate how it looks. It's so boring.
I miss Halo 5.
Halo 5 forever. ⚡
How does 343 not realize we don’t like bloom
PURRRFECT
My part favorite 0:22
H5 way better, weapons and vehicles were so damn cool
Still can't believe how bad they made the rockethog. I dont even think I got to drive the scorpion or wraith lmao. Instantly shocked whenever I did get one.
Woa I'm confused I thought the magnum in H5 was 5 shots to kill (I suck with it so I wouldn't really know from that side) --- EDIT: oh I'm dumb I didn't notice it was the H5 sidekick variation. The regular H5 magnum is 5 shots to kill I'm pretty sure
Imo the Sidekick has wayyyy too much bloom, it hits max bloom on the 3rd shot.
Is it worth grinding for 152?? I'm relatively close but don't know if it's even possible
I’d just play casually here and there to get to 152. The rears in H5 is just the Mantle emblem. In Infinite you’ll get a muddy gray coating but nice AR and Sidekick weapon skins.
Yes u can, warzone firefight also mitych find instant, warzone depends from hour, here in europe i find games instantly after 19 to 9. During weekend find at every hour.
I've been trying since infinites release and I'm still nowhere close to halfway.
The exp needed to hit 152 is the same exp needed to level 1-151. I'm almost to 149.
Honestly it's not worth it if you're doing it for the rewards. But if you enjoy the game as many others do. not important
And the magnum in halo infinite tbh it looks like they stole that design from the usp 45 in the modern warfare games they just made look futuristic
Reciclan cosas y aún así entregan una kk? F por 343
Halo 5 pistol GOATED. Halo Infinite pistol is dogshit
Halo 5 is better
Systems use to double graphics every time a new system came out, I dont see twice the difference anymore.
Infinite isn't really a true next gen game. It still released and is still playable on the og Xbox One.
And as long as manufacturers don't get a hold of manufacturing more next gen systems then I don't see it changing anytime soon however.
Why both look like regular 9mm pistol?
When Spartan pistol realistically should be a magnum.
H5 has a magnum. This one in the video is just a smaller and faster firing variant.
5 is the better game by virtue of actually having female Spartans and not androgynous blobs
Wait a minute hold on… the amount of shots to take out the shield is the same for both the head and body..?
Welcome to Halo, buddy
Yeah. There's no benefit to headshots until the shot that cracks the shield. Best off to break shield hitting body then heady
@@darkphoenix2 I have been playing halo since I can remember, and I never figured this out…
Why even have recoil? We’re super soldiers!
Halo 5 sound it's more unique. ( I Hate this AI voice lines in infinite, it needs to have an option to turn this shit off)
I second this idea 😁
Just change your ai dude but yeah i get it
I turned off all the music and the voices and I always feel like playing Reach - no distractions, no multiple voices in your head. I suggest doing so.
What a perfect game for micro transactions I'm glad halo and it's fan base found their calling, you all truly deserve it.
Kinda wish 5 was on the gamepass for PC, the game is ass but I genuinely enjoyed the multiplayer for the most part
I wish infinite's shields in multiplayer were less solid looking. They looked better in the trailer and in the campaign.
Anothet H2 Magnum... Where are you HCE Magnum????
Halo 5s pistol was the closest we've ever been to the classic CE magnum.
Halo 5 💯
I miss aim down sights...
Kids saying infinite is better than 5 obviously got trashed in Guardians MP.
And the campaign was bad? It wasnt perfect, but go rewatch the opening cutscene. You dont get goosebumps from Fireteam Osiris' reveal then you need to go back to CoD and leave Halo alone. You ruining a loved franchise. If you all haven't killed it already.
halo 5 is a good game, not perfect, it has a lot of mistakes, but it has more potential than halo infinite, and no one wants to accept that, halo 5 brought so many things that would give meaning to the story like the guardians but instead they chose idiotic brutes and no the main brute that is the atriox
