“Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.” - Vessel 2017
This is literally the best quote ever. To me they don't belong in a genre. They just make music. In a dictionary under music you should find "Sleep Token" as a perfect description for what real music really is.
When I get to see them next year, as long as they play this and I get to yell out that line into the air with everyone else in the crowd... I know I'll never forget that.
i'd encourage listening to nightwish. some their longest songs are also their most touching. best example is poet and the pendulem at wembley ( i recommend diving into the history of the song too)
@@chuckh9168tried those 2 bands and I just can't get into them before or now they just don't hit Like sleep token. Don't see the comparison either while many comments say if you like sleep token you'll like them. Personally I think if you like Sleep token you'll like Bad Omens and Spiritbox.
I can’t get enough of Sleep Token. As a devout Metalhead, and not much of a lover of trap or rap I couldn’t believe how much Sleep Tokens genre blends have blown me away. Fucking Worship.
You're dead on about why I love them - as someone who grew up on hip hop and R&B in the 90's and grew to love heavy music later in life this band does both so well it makes my weirdo heart happy lol
Exactly this! I also grew up on 90's / early 2000s hip hop and r&b cause that's all my parents really listened to. Then as I got older I started appreciating heavier music and Sleep Token just blends everything so well. There's truly something for everyone. The entire TMBTE album is a masterpiece.
If one person cannot get SOMETHING out of this song, or this album…they don’t understand the art in music. There is speed, there is heavy, there is hip hop, there is misery, there is closure. It’s just phenomenal.
If you haven’t already, get a box of tissues, your favorite candy and prepare to cry like a baby when you listen to Euclid because it’s the most beautiful thing you’ll ever hear in your life.
I think my favorite thing about this band is they really let every band member showcase what they can do. I feel like you can literally hear it all separately and then all together and it’s blended so well. My favorite thing is when you relisten to these songs, a different instrument sticks out. For me, I’ve been listening more to the drums lately and it’s just insane talent 😭…. If you’re a music fan in general, you should love this band 🤷🏻♀️ I enjoy watching your reactions to these sleep token songs!
"Who made you like this? Who encrypted your dark gospel in body language? Synapses snap back in blissful anguish Tell me you met me in past lives, past life Past what might be eating me from the inside, darling Half algorithm, half deity Glitches in the code or gaps in a strange dream Tell me you guessed my future and it mapped onto your fantasy Turn me into your mannequin and I'll turn you into my puppet queen Won't you come and dance in the dark with me? Show me what you are, I am desperate to know" I LOVE these lyrics, geeeez.
Loving the Sleep Token reactions! They've become one of my favorite bands over the last several years (the first song I heard that got me into them was Jaws), and it's so cool to watch more and more people realize how creative and talented they are.
@joshpearce1557 those ones are great too! Yeah the Offering was like the second or third song I ever listened to by them, and I was hooked on it instantly lol
There are certain things about sleep token that really remind me of why I love music in general. In terms of reminding me of interludes, the song 'Rain' really brings me specifically back to the Intro song of AFI's DecemberUnderground, 'Prelude 12\21'
I’m a big fan of sleep token and I also love hip hop, 90’s R&B, kpop, rap, alternative rock & metal, so you are correct that fans probably like multiple genres!
The Interlude thing, I can totally see that. The Interlude that comes to mind when you asked the question, Frank Ocean - Fertilizer. That little jingle was just so catchy, I used to play it on repeat wishing it was a full song cuz it was just so fun.
This particular song took a little time to grow on me, but now I love it. One of my favorite things about this one is the tail end line "you make me wish I could disappear" with the high harmony layered in - it's very operatic and sounds so epic 🙏🙏
Sleep Token is such a beautiful band. I swear, every album, every song, they are just ethereal. Just each one is so similar yet so different. Got me doing backflips fr

I'll never forget my first listen through this song, specifically when he switched the intro lyrics to say "I'll take what I WANT and then leave.." before that outro boom. Unbelievable stuff.
Talking about songs that I wish had longer interludes, I've got an absolute curve ball for you: two songs from Clown Core, "Toilet" and "Computers". Both songs have an absolutely insane sax solo over a synth melody and it's just amazing. I want to suggest you check either song out, but I'm not sure you'd be down with it. The reaction to it might be worth the content though because it's wild lol.
Imminence just came out with a song called Come Hell or High Water, sounds very Sleep Token like. Worthy of a review imo. ❤ they've kept their violin consistent.

Ok, I have a theory on this one: "Diamonds in the Trees" = Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) "Pentagrams in the Night Sky" = 5-HT1A and 5-HT2 receptors "You make me wish I could disappear" = psychedelic drug induced "ego death". It's wild you say that because aqua regia sounds like mdma with the "oxytocin" reference and "subatomic Interactions" since that's what mdma does as it floods the brain with oxytocin. The whole vibe feels ecstasy-ish lol
