    This is great! My brother in law is always having to watch his truck when he stops by. This is the perfect system to give some peace of mind

      Thanks! Nothing's gonna stop someone who really wants your stuff but it'll at least slow them down.

    I never thought of locking down the tailgate pad. That's a great idea.

    Nice job on the set up!

    2:57. That fitting is commonly called a Nicopress. Cool idea to secure the pad.

    In the last 6 months I've bought a truck, tailgate pad and a bike and the first time out I realized the big security loophole that the pad is. I was contemplating investing in a full bike rack but I think this type of option is good enough for my needs.

    • @TrailBreaker
      @TrailBreaker  3 года назад +2

      Yes. It’s really just to slow someone down a bit for quick stops before or after a ride. A locking tailgate (which I now have on my Tacoma) is even better 👊

    The tailgate pad setup is a good idea

    I used a big chain wrapped in a bike inner tube, that cable can be cut with bolt cutters, but its a good idea to slow them down

    • @TrailBreaker
      @TrailBreaker  4 года назад +1

      Yes, you're right. This is really only used for quick stops to and from the trail like picking up milk at the store. I just want to keep the lazy thieves 😀

      @pinkflamingoes 3 года назад

      Hey, I know this is an older post, but how on earth did you get a chain into an inner tube? I want to try this but they seem too tight to get around the chain?

    Isn't it fucked that we have to worry about people stealing our property? I just had someone in my apartment complex steal my mountain bike from the bicycle storage room
    I bought a new, more expensive one, 2 weeks later and THAT ONE WAS STOLEN TOO

    • @TrailBreaker
      @TrailBreaker  4 года назад +2

      Sivy Yes it is. Not sure how to completely stop a determined asshole. Sometimes slowing them down is enough

    • @TheCureThatKillz
      @TheCureThatKillz Год назад +1

      Dude I agree. It’s honestly so disheartening that you can’t put something in the back of your truck without the fear of someone taking it. In my opinion, people who steal things are the scum
      of the earth. The lowest type of life form.

    My 3 pronged approach is:
    1) don't stop
    2) be armed

    • @TrailBreaker

      italianrelic one does. This is just for piece of mind if I need to pop into a store for a few minutes. A determined thief will take your stuff regardless of locks😢

    I purchased 4 of these locks and used it on a Tacoma 2017. I had to drill two of them to use the 1/2 inch stock bolts to the truck bed. I am very happy and great peace of mind. Locks are removable anytime.
