    Whole Fish with Green Onions will be one of the choices for my Chinese New Year celebration. You may substitute with fish filet. Fish in Chinese, Yu sounds the same as another word Yu, which means abundance. Wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous year of the OX!
    For Chinese New Year's eve dinner, here are my recipe recommendations, including appetizers, fish, chicken, eight treasure sticky rice, and sweet rice ball. Or, you can just make hotpot.

    1 whole fish (pomfret, tilapia, or sea bass), over 1 lb
    8 stalks of green onions
    1 piece of ginger
    6 cloves garlic
    6 fresh or dried chili peppers, optional

    Aside from the cooking method, this reminds me of Cantonese steamed fish, which I do by wrapping and then putting in the oven. Thank you for this recipe.

    I follow Chinese recipes from a channel called taste show and their fish dishes look so tempting to me but they bury it in oil super unhealthy so I love your channel. I would love to see from you how to cook a whole barramundi fish from you!

    I personally only eat filets but the only whole fish I ever had was branzino. It's ok also it was a while ago since the last time I had it, maybe I'll give this recipe a try because you haven't steered me wrong yet.
