Thank you for showing us how to do this. We are trying to learn how to cook Chinese Recipes good. Because it is just too expensive for middle-income Americans to eat out much anymore.
Many years ago I worked in Beijing. I have spent many years in China. Now I am at home. I really loved China. Especially Chinese food. now i am cooking chinese food in Russia. And this channel helps me a lot with this. Thanks.
I made this for our evening's dinner tonight Ling. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it (with rice!). Flank/Skirt steak is not a popular cut of meat in Australia so I improvised with Premium Rump Steak which was an excellent choice. I've ordered Flank from my butcher and it will be received within the week. So far, everything I've cooked from your recipes have been a hit at home. Thank you so much🐨
Excellent 👍 Instructions. Thank you so very much. I truly enjoy Oriental Dishes so very much. Great to know I can try these at home. This recipe one of my very Favorites too. Love Tamson. 🍜😋
That looks simple and amazing, I will have to try that stirring in a bit of birds-eye peppers to perk it up and some white pepper to finish. Thanks for the recipe!
I remember your Chinese version. I may not understand the language but I understand food lol. I've tried this dish before but I've added onions but I do not add salt. Looking forward to your next wok adventure.
I Love you videos! My asia dishes are quite better now , thanks for that! My favourite dish is Saigon Beef which I only get in a asian restaurant (I'm from Vienna, Austria). I would like to cook it at home as well but can't find any reciept. I've asked the restaurants owner but he will not give me the reciept. Do you know how to cook Saigon Beef? Could you make a video? Thanks. Greetings from Vienna!
Exactly what type of Rice did you use for your final dish ? You mention eating the finished Pepper Steak with Rice, but your video did not explain this process. I suspect it (Rice) is something like Thai Rice which is slightly 'sticky' when cooked. Am l correct ?
Hi Ling! I love your videos! Thank you for sharing your cooking skills and delicious family recipes. Is that your rice cooker in the background? Could you please make a video showing how you prepare your rice? The brand you use and or what equipment? A tutorial on how to use chopsticks too would be so nice. Thank you! Stay safe! Patricia
@@ChineseHealthyCook Yes, you speak the truth. We asked a Chinese Lady in a store, and she laughed, chunkled under hear breath and said, "Buy an expensive rice cooker."
Want to try to make it but a bit afraid that it might be too salty since she used three different soy based sauces on that small portion of beef. Light one, dark one, and oyster sauce...
For me, I would also add one egg white for the marination along with 1/3 tsp of baking soda, bring all the love together for 2 hours. The result will be very moist and tender, it's just that easy with your help. I will surprise the wife.
Thankyou looks very easy and yummy the only problem is I don't know if I can get cooking wine in New Zealand is there anyone from NZ who can help me with this or help me with a alternative??
I ain't from NZ, but I found these: www.eatwell.co.nz/kitchen-tips/glossary/1355/Shaoxing-wine/ - and - www.recipetineats.com/shaoxing-wine-chinese-cooking-wine/
Hello, I was looking for a good Chinese recipe and found your Channel!! Great Videos and Great Instructions! Already tried your Lobster Sauce! Surprised my wife and we got done surfing this afternoon! We live in San Diego and are now Subscribers!! Keep up the good work and God Bless! Ps. What State do you live in?
MSG is not bad. It's just a massive hysteria around it that holds no truth. MSG is perfectly natural and is just a combination of glutamine (a harmless amino acid) and sodium (salt). To get really tender beef, just add like a quarter teaspoon of baking soda. Otherwise, love your channel and recipes. PS! The premium is the best. It has more oyster in it and is more concentrated.
ChineseHealthyCook Oysters are a natural source of msg anyway. So people who claim to avoid it eats it naturally in many foods. Seaweed, kelp, mushrooms, tomatoes, oysters, anchovies, parmesan, miso etc etc. so there’s no need add additional msg anyway. It just adds a little extra China-zing that people are used to in restaurants.

" Thanks for sharing this recipe for Pepper Steak in Oyster Sauce with your viewers ! "
Thanks for showing me how to make a good beef dish! May I ask you the purpose of using cooking wine to marinate ?
Chinese cooking wine enhances flavor and adds depth to the dish. Thank you 😊
Looks easy to make. Meat prices are so high now. What’s an alternate beef part I can use?
Buy when it’s on sale. Flank steak is pricey, and you may try chuck.
Yes, I’m trying this one....thanks
Hope it works out for you. Enjoy 😊 Thank you 😊

Sorry, I don’t know how to make Saigon beef. I’m sure you can find on RUclips 😊
hi great vid ,thankyou .Do you have a certain brand for "light" and "dark " soy sauce ? and what they are called ? thanks again :)
I use a Chinese brand, Pearl River Bridget. Thank you 😊
Exactly what type of Rice did you use for your final dish ? You mention eating the finished Pepper Steak with Rice, but your video did not explain this process. I suspect it (Rice) is something like Thai Rice which is slightly 'sticky' when cooked. Am l correct ?
I cook either jasmine or medium grain rice, not sticky if you make less water.
And doesn't cornflour (or baking soda) tenderise the beaf when marinating it breaks down the fibres ive seen it on many Chinese stirfry recipes
Yes, you may use baking soda 😊
Hi I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I’ve already made two of your delicious recipes. I have a question, can I use onion for this recipe?
Yes, you can use onion. Good to “see” you on live stream 😊

That is a pressure cooker. I’ve been using Zojirushi Rice Cooker given by a friend. It is a bit pricey but very good. Thank you 😊

Thank you.

It wasn’t salty but you may skip dark sauce sauce for color. Enjoy 😊

Sorry, I don’t have a cookbook. All my recipes are here 😊 -Ling
Why shouldn't you heat oyster sauce too long ? Does it go in near the end of all cooking including srirfry ?
It may get bitter if overheated. Thank you, Dr. 😊
With the recipes you make how many servings would you get out your meal.
About 2 servings. Thank you 😊
After a few months of knowing about this recipe I finally made it today! Wow! It was so delicious. Thank you got sharing it. Yum!

Any substitute for cooking wine?💜
You may try dry sherry, rice wine or just skip it.
How about the sauce u prepared?forgot?watch ur video😊
I added oyster sauce in the end. At beginning, I marinated the beef 😄
Ling could you please send me your pork cha chu recipe🥰
I don’t have a recipe yet, sorry.
Why filtered water or tap water
Why is it necessary to stir beef in one direction?
I guess it’s more a habit than “science” 😆
What type of cooking wine?
Shaoxing cooking wine 👩🍳
If I don’t get cooking wine then what to use?
Just skip it
Why not use whole peppers to get more healthy vegetables?
Agree that it would be even better with more peppers. Thank you!
