Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey is one of the greatest pop songs of all time. Great vocals. Masterful arrangement. That song makes me wanna take a hit of hot hose water, ya dig.
really cool drum intro parts too
I do dig
The live version does the intro as the outro and it is glorious.
Phil is an underrated drummer & singer- and his song writing is superb.
Big fan of Phil Collins, great video Steve! Greetings from Mexico
I love Phil and Genesis! Excellent analysis of this tune. It truly is a masterpiece of pop music. Keep it coming Steve!! Oh
And the algorithm is dry humping me right now as well 😮😢
We need more videos where you are this excited!
Yes sir 🤟🤟🤟 !
A big thumbs up to that!
'Turn it on again' is the essence of what I like about Genesis.
Agree, Phil was a major influence on my own drumming career and a true legend and agree, craftsmanship is a disappearing thing these days. Love that intro on this track and that groove, holds everything together within the whole arrangement; what a pity about his health now. I’m also from the UK.
Steve Steve.... And Steveeeeeeeeeeee!
Rock on brother.
Haha I knew I'd hear from you today
@@JunkdrummerTV You bet 🤟.
Going to share this with my Dad too 👌.
Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Hope the last Dave Weckl did not get you in trouble 😅?
Yes yes yes! Thanks dude. Sooooooo underrated due to the fact that he is Phil Collins!!
Try playing Second Home by the Sea as tight as he does!!!
Thank you Steve ❤
Daaaayum I just realized that I added quite a few drum parts 😅 in ny drum cover !
Ain't nothing wrong with that!
@@JunkdrummerTV Well if you say so 👍👍
ahh the 80's to early 90's Phil was ubiquitous. You couldn't turn on the radio (or MTV when they played actual videos) without running in to Phil. From Genisis, to solo, and then he became The go to drummer for a lot artists in that time (both session and live).
Always been a fan but recently I’ve been analysing phil Collin’s songs, he’s a master and this is coming from a death metal guitarist lol , anyway good video those little nuances are what I love in a song
This was a good one. Great insight.
Thank ya!
I would have been one of those guys giving you crap about “pop” Genesis 15 years ago. I have since seen the errors of that. Being a 46 year old, Phil was all over the radio in my childhood, maybe I was burnt out but I find myself more into 80s Genesis and solo Phil more and more over the years. Still love the Gabriel era Genesis though. Probably going to see Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited playing The Foxtrot album in October.
People don't write breakup songs like they used to! The man's a genius. Always has been. No need to explain 'why'. He was born. A genius happened. The end.
Yerp!!! Nice
Just watched MMW video and I may have recommended this one before but I think you would dig Trioscapes.
No reply at all and i missed again are the Phil Collins genius for me.
I also prefer Phil Collins Genesis to Peter Gabriel Genesis!
Can you do a review on Dave Grohl, and John Bonham?
Pop music today would just sample parts of this song with shitty autotuned vocals, a rap bridge and get a grammy with no single mention of Phil Collins.
