Abba sold 385 million records. Their songs are some of the most difficult to sing. Vocals and harmonies for days. I highly recommend The winner takes it all, Chiquitita and One of us (a ballad with a reggae feel) you won't be disappointed 👌🔥❤️

Anyone that says he does not like them is either lying or in a coma - I used to be in heavy metal band/s playing heavy stuff back in the days - the dirty secret was that we went from listening from Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Deicide after sessions and inspiration - to listening to ABBA after rehearsals - hats off to them indeed forever.
ABBA are underrated these days. People think they're all too nice and family friendly, but as you can tell here, not so much. Obviously they are not as explicit as some acts now, but they were way ahead musically. Great to see reactors like you. bringing them back to people's ears.
ABBA were the absolute masters of pop in the 70's and were the biggest selling artists during the 8 years from 74 - 82. Some of teir ballads are the most beautiful and huanting ever written. The Winner Takes It All. Knowing me Knowing You, The Name Of The Game, The Day Before You Came and Fernando. This is a huge rabbit hole of excellent music to dive into and i can't wait to see you do others.
The sound they picked up the idea in South America as that type of sound is play in countries like Peru, Chile, Ecuador...Benny talked about it on an interview
abba never ever made a bad or underpar song everything they wrote composed or sung was pure gold.. i dare anyone to listen to an abba song and not want to start to move and dance....and smile.
ABBA was a phenomenon (in the 1970s). With their (perfectly arranged) songs they delighted people across all tastes. (I'm also more into prog rock, but I think ABBA is awesome). You will surely get lots of suggestions, so I'm holding back (for once), but I think it would be nice if you could hear more ABBA here.
Fun fact, ABBA Inc. was the number two stock on the Swedish stock exchange for a few years. I highly recommended “The Visitors”, it addresses the dissident movement in the Soviet Union. There was a time when ABBA could sing the scales and go Platinum, especially in Europe. They are legends.
I've been watching all your reaction videos (over and over again) and appreciate that you have done a lot of old school and classics - Elvis, Bee Gees, and Righteous Brothers. Now, you are doing Abba (another group I grew up with) and I love your reaction. You have no idea how much our generation appreciates you. Please, I'd like to request this singer named Glennis Grace singing Whitney Houston. Glennis is Whitney's twin. Sounds just like her, you will love. Here is "I will always love you" @ and Run To You - @ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
This song may have the most beautiful refrain ever made in a tune, that flute/piano like sound inbetween the girls singing.. A really good song, that Madonna partly sampled. She recognized a winner when she heard one. I hope you can do more ABBA reactions onwards here. Please do also some that havent been that much covered in reactions so far...like What about Livingstone, Man in the Middle...The Piper..songs like that by ABBA..
Just take an ABBA track at random & you'll more than likely feel the same as you did listening to the 2 previous tracks, ABBA were great, A true fact is the only export to come out of Sweden bigger than the group was the car makers Volvo
Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah you put on the ABBA and then you feel good. Since this was an Agnetha song next one should be a Frida song. Think "Super Trouper" would be my pick.
The guy who produced their music - as in the actual producer in the studio with them - and music technician, Mikael B Tretow, was a genius who was *way* ahead of his time. He actually had a hit on the charts himself! With another guy they made a joke song where they made a bet they couldn't get a chart-topper with fake lyrics - and the result was "Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot" which is an absolutely bizarre song with completely nonsense lyrics.
i also like bee gee's Massachusetts live in Australia (i think) better than the studio version i haven't found many songs i like sung live better but your right about this one
"A techno feel." Hmm. I would say, "No." But! The thing about ABBA is, they were directly influential on the development and growth of Eurodisco in the 80s, or as it was called in North America, Hi NRG music. And it was Eurodisco/Hi NRG that was the forefunner of techno. So, in a way, while they didn't have a techno sound, you could definitely hear something in this song that would become techno. It's definitely safe to say that without ABBA we wouldn't have techno. At the very least, we wouldn't have had techno as we know it, or it would have arrived later than it did.
This song was literally about sex. The 70s, in the early 80s were about lots of sex, drugs, dancing, and fun. Nothing was off limits really. We used to take what was called a "disco nap" in the late evening because you wanted to go out really late, evenings didn't begin until midnight through the night until it was time to get breakfast somewhere at 4-5AM, unless you got lucky lol. It was the time before AIDS, and believe me it was wild. So even though the ABBA girls look like ladies lol, we were all pretty open minded back then. Gimme Gimme Gimme is my favorite ABBA song, because you can feel what it was like to be young and absolutely free to do whatever you wanted. I'm from NY so maybe it wasn't the same everywhere else, but here it was the best. We were pretty lucky to feel so free back then.
Nothing is original to Madonna except her own self. :-D Not saying this to be negative, she's amazing at what she does - but what she does is take existing stuff and sell it again. She's very good at it! But she's a businesswoman, not a creator. Ask the 80's LGBT club scene where Madonna got all her first hits and styles from, for example...
As kids in uk we all aspired to be punks and mods abba was forbidden fruit even though the punk members were fans like cook and jonesey what we missed out on
Love this, thanks but the video misses out the extended bass line in the middle, if you listen to the song on the album, Voulez Vouz or Greatest Hits. Brilliant.
I enjoy so much when you comment old great hits. Please! I am begging you!!! Listen my favorite band Modern Talking. You love it in the moment. I recommend - "Brother Louie", "Cheri Cheri Lady", "You're my heart you're my soul", "Geronimo's Cadillac".
Happy enough here, lead voice Agnetha Faltskog was ultimately not cut out for the pop star lifestyle. The jet-setting, fashion-trending, divorce-leading, death-threatening upwards curve of their career would eventually split them up - but for a time in the 1970s they were a chart colossus across Europe and the English-speaking world (with the exception of the US, which never quite succumbed to their charms). Despite this, and like many obvious pop acts today, they were never critically-acclaimed at the time.

I WAS AT AN ABBA CONCERT BACK IN 1979
Love the reaction....there's a depth to the lyrics and to Agnetha's voice that gives this great dance track its lasting power!!
ABBA are underrated these days. People think they're all too nice and family friendly, but as you can tell here, not so much. Obviously they are not as explicit as some acts now, but they were way ahead musically. Great to see reactors like you. bringing them back to people's ears.
"does your mother know" is another good example
You have opened the ABBA rabbit hole,... Enjoy the journey ...

Take a Chance on Me is my favorite ABBA song. Such a great tune.
Madonna sampled this for 'Hung Up'!

You are one of my absolute favorite reactors. The openness and the way you express yourself with the music is so wonderful.

GREAT song by ABBA

I've heard Abba songs but never heard this one. Thanks for doing it or I would have never known about it. ❤💃
that's just so weird to me, considering this is one of their most iconic songs.
I wasn't a huge ABBA listener. I knew a couple songs though. Loving this song, it's now on my playlist. 🎶
Not a huge ABBA Fan but they do have a lot of popular songs. One of the most successful groups ever.

Not techno. Disco.
Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah you put on the ABBA and then you feel good. Since this was an Agnetha song next one should be a Frida song. Think "Super Trouper" would be my pick.
Love it - such fun to hear this again

To make you feel good. This was the mission of ABBA. So if you are down, put on an ABBA Record and you'll be ok in minutes
I love it! Great Reaction.
Your hair always looks SO pretty. Just thought I’d say that. ❤️
Awesome reaction, you'll have fun reacting to more ABBA. Check out Knowing Me, Knowing You, Summer Night City, Take A Chance On Me!
When I first heard techno - I was like "oh please, this is just ABBA on a loop" 😂

ABBA was awesome... one funny tidbit about them. They spoke almost no english, but they sang in english.
Not true.
This is one case where the live version is so much more superior to the studio.
i also like bee gee's Massachusetts live in Australia (i think) better than the studio version i haven't found many songs i like sung live better but your right about this one
Try their "Chiqutita" next, great song!

"A techno feel." Hmm. I would say, "No."

Madonna stole that riff
After all these years today I learned that Madonna sampled this on Hung Up. I thought it was original to Madonna
Nothing is original to Madonna except her own self. :-D

@@snorpenbass4196 Nonsense, she's a creator too.
They used in a lot English tv show
After reacting to this one, try Madonna's "Hung Up" next...you'll see why! ;-)
you should watch it live
Yo never heard Abba, before, ? That's incredible. But you can find more. If you can
As kids in uk we all aspired to be punks and mods abba was forbidden fruit even though the punk members were fans like cook and jonesey what we missed out on
Love this, thanks but the video misses out the extended bass line in the middle, if you listen to the song on the album, Voulez Vouz or Greatest Hits. Brilliant.
Great tune, just a pity you picked the short version....
370million records sold...22 number ones..Sure..They are HUGE..!!!

Not techno. Disco.
ABBA always makes you feel good.
You're a black Goddess! Greetings from Spain! 😍
PLAY EACH ABBA SONG TO YOUR HEART CONTENT
I'm going to keep on suggesting "I Am the City" until one of you guys reacts to it.
The Knack..
This is the shortened version of Gimme. The full length version ( non video) is much better.
I would give your reaction ten likes if I could. Do ABBA‘s Voulez-Vous next please.
