I can't even explain how big ABBA were - and still are - in Europe. They made eight studio albums over a period of 10 years. They quit in 1982, but became a lasting cultural phenomenon. They were two couples: Anni-Frid (the dark-haired singer) and Benny (the pianist) were together, and Agnetha (the blond singer) and Björn (the guitarplayer) were together. While being in ABBA, both couples split up, and their last records were as sad as their first records were cheerful.

OBOY! Discovering ABBA for the first time and liking it. Now you have a HUGE catalog of songs to react to! And the outfits, oboy, the outfits, soo seventies! (ABBA was some of the very first artists to make music videos) There were no clothing consultants back in those days, so be forewarned...LOL! And if you continue to react to ABBA, be ready for more Australian subscribers, they were so huge down under it's crazy... I'm a Swede, and it wasn't cool here to be a ABBA fan back in the day, because they were a commercial band and not socially conscious enough. They were really good though, and now we have a ABBA museum...

Talk about a popular, successful band. .. Between 1974-1982 ABBA sold over 400 million records. It is estimated that each member of ABBA is worth over $300 million! ABBA, which is the initials of the four band members (Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid), had 20 singles in the US on the Billboard Hot 100, 14 of which in the Top 40. Also, as far as talent, ABBA has recorded (and can actually sing) many of their songs in multiple languages. Today you can find tribute bands performing ABBA songs. Too bad the Group never really did a reunion event. It was said that ABBA turned down a 1 billion dollar offer to do a reunion performance!

Your learning how to identify music from multiple sources,
that means you are " acquiring an ear for music" and you will have an enormous library of music that you can identity.
You may want to consider making a living out of it by becoming a music historian.
Cataloging music for future generations to discover like you are. And because you are in part, immortal now.
Now that you are forever in digital format, you are also making history and that is just another facet of cataloging music for posterity.
This field has many facets that are extremely diverse and interesting with endless possibilities.
    Good luck.

-Actually these people are very down to earth. Anni-Frid and Benny very married and also Björn(Bjoern) and Agnetha(Ang-neta) They are very dear friends all four. Björn and Agneta have together two children , Linda and Christian and grandchildren so they meet now and then. Benney has a son Ludvig Andersson in the production the VOYAGE album. I've listened to these people since the 60-ies as I am in the same age as Benny. Björn started in The Hootenanny Singers while Benny was in the Hep Stars. The girls were vocalists in separate dancebands. Anni-Frid started 14-years old singing jazz in the beginning. Agnetha have also produced soloalbums with her own music and lyrics.ABBA started 1972-

This song was on Sandra Bullock's movie Miss Congeniality 2. At the beauty pageant. They danced to it. That might be how you heard it.

I have always admitted to loving ABBA, the first music documentary I ever watched as kid was about ABBA. My favorite song of theirs isn't even one of their hits, but the King Kong song will always be my favorite ABBA song. Thanks for the wonderful reactions and keep em coming. I love your channel BTW.

The movie MAMA MIA was based on a play written by ABBA. All the music is theirs.

ABBA is to be treasured and cherished. You are a very easy person to like. I still believe that The Beatles and ABBA are 1 and 1A and both should be learned in chronological order to experience the evolution of their music. By the way, for me, the "having the time of your life" portion of the song is very sexy and something about those notes moves me and makes the song perfect.
