Making a Dress out of Candy!! AND YES I FAILED 😅

- Ok so this process was actually really fun because my boyfriend, Chris, hopped in and helped out, but if I’m totally honest I hate this dress😂 the tiktok of this video was sponsored and the timeline was so crazy. Occasionally I make something that I just don’t like, but the process of this one was really entertaining, so I thought I’d share!

Btw- surprisingly, all this candy was expired. Like a year overdue from being pulled from the shelf. Not sure why they were selling it but I felt less guilty about using food😂

Looks like y'all had a great time making the dress! You bought a lot of candy, though, and I'm pretty sure there's plenty of candy left to make a series of candy dresses. If the candies are left in the wrappers and glued on in such a way that the wrappers can be opened, allowing the candy to be removed but the wrappers remaining on the dress, I think it would make an amazing effect. Like transforming from a candy dress to a wrapper rosettes dress! 💙💙

This is really cool! At my high school, the advanced art class always did a project where they would make dresses out of alternative materials (they were allowed to use a muslin base if needed). This dress made me think of the ombre pink tic tac dress I saw years ago.
I would love to see Gunnar creations made out of Thrift store / recycled clothes and fabrics, and also a few made out of rubbish or waste xxx
I would never of thought of making a dress then sticking Candy all over it. If you want a challenge, use all the sweet wrappers, glue them edge to edge and make e dress purely from the wrappers, your so talented, I’m certain you could make one. Or perhaps some sort of hat 🤔. I think that would be cool.

You can make a dress in 20 minutes, wow 🤩 and it looked beautiful prior to adding the candies and once you added them too 🍭 🍬. I love watching your creativeness and enjoy your vibe!!!❤️❤️❤️

This is awesome! One of my favorite Littlest Pet Shop episodes had a fashion contest. One of the challenges was to make an outfit out of food. Almost everyone made a meat dress lol. The main character made a sugar free marshmallow skirt, and the rival made a broccoli bathing suit.
I would love to see a video where you did a challenge like this (picking fabric blindfolded, making things w candy, etc) but you had to make like a set or a dress but with a matching accessory like a hat or bag or something. Just an idea! Your videos are always so fun to see!
Have you tried making a dress out of newspapers yet? I've seen you do it with wrapping papers and they were great!
I had a friend who made a dress out of newspaper in design school, and it was displayed as part of a big outdoor city wide art thing in Toronto. It was really nice, like a wedding dress.
She now does design for cirque de Soleil and TV shows, like the new star trek.

Honestly a scrap fabric dress would be cool - I mean the scraps that are too small to make scrunchies out of. You could probably do like a rainbow tiger print type thing? Or a raggedy dress? Idk I'm excited about it though!
One of my favourite quilts has been one where we used velvet, cotton, faux silks and put fake fur on the back (sadly burnt down with my friends house - she was so upset) 😭 but the diff textures can REALLY make a project look amazing ❤

Hey Gunnar, I'm from Louisville and worked on the Oaks and Derby garlands for 27 years. Have you considered creating a dress with roses or lillies in some way? I'm thinking using silk roses, taking the individual petals off and creating texture with them in some way. Or... maybe fold/layer the fabric in some way to make one big off centered flower opening up from a bud to a bloom? Pair that with a Derby Hat made by Wayne Esterele at In Bloom Again and you've got a Millionaire's Row look. Maybe this could be a collaboration with you and Wayne.

I actually really liked the dress better before it had the candy added! The candy turned it into a piece of art - but it was super cute and wearable as it was.
Ooh i have an idea! Make a dress out of dismantling parts of doll dresses! But like dont buy the good high end dolls because i kind of dont want you to waste the good quality doll outfits when they could be used by doll collectors.
The dress wasn’t too bad I just didn’t get the blue part it would have looked better all in black and hot pink 😱🤭🤣I think it’s the first time I get to see “You” and not only your hands and nail polish 🤭🤪 I saw someone made a dress out of balloons the kind you can twist to make figures 😱🤭

I think the black jelly bean portion of the dress was fantastic. What about a Native American themed dress, made in the style of loom bead patterns. Or plastic bendy straws. They're flexible and come in so many colors.
I’m personally not Native American , so I don’t think it would ethically be ok for me to venture there, but i think the concept would be super cool if executed by a Native American artist!!!

Ideas: dress from things you would find in a bathroom, or like watch a tv show and at min 32 whatever outfit comes up…make it but in a better version, make a dress that would represent a random country or food dish…lasagna for instance, or a dress based off a pic on your phone, or a dress out of the same printed pic over and over
