  • Crafty Projects are a huge part of who I am! Have always loved the idea of creating something from nothing! I think that's why I loved the unconventional challenges on Project Runway! There is a giant Bougainvillea bush in my backyard, and after years of walking past the fallen petals, I decided today is THE DAY to use them!! This project took about 12 hours got complete, and as tedious as it was, I REALLLLLY love the outcome!

Hey, I want to let you know that my son is 8 and has always wanted to wear my clothes and unfortunately there was someone negative that told him that he's a boy and can't wear girl clothing. I was scrolling through stories with him next to me and a video of yours came on and you made a dress then wore it, my son seriously gained back his confidence after seeing you and now loves you so much and so do I because you have inspired him to be himself and thank you so much 💓

I think it's great to get boys into sewing. It's like art, very creative n fun. Also great to break the patriarchal gender rules. If it's ok n accepting for girls to wear trousers then a boy shud be able to wear a skirt. There is nothing wrong with that. If he likes sewing then that's fantastic. Ignore the trolls they demons minions sent to make ppl miserable.

Hi Gunnar! This dress is Gorgeous with a capital G! Here’s a crafty hack I thought of while I was watching you make this: first, get some spray polyurethane from the hardware store. Next, after you’ve attached the flowers to the bodice and skirt and steamed them, allow them to dry from the steam. Lastly, spray the flowers lightly with the polyurethane and allow to dry. The flowers will be slightly stiffened and protected, and set how you’ve placed them on the dress.

Gunner, I love your work. I especially enjoy the "shorts". That is how I found you. Today I just thought I wanted to let you know how you've touched me. It usually starts when you go to one of your favorite bargain fabric stores. AND, as a true artist your canvas starts to speak to through the garments Aniston after, you have settled upon ANOTHER beautiful creation. Part of this whole process that I did not mention but deserves recognition is you. Let me explain. From beginning to end the viewer is drawn in by your smooth, inviting and comforting voice. The voice begins to create the narrative. AND, you, Gunner, take us, the viewers on a journey with, complete with views of your beautiful hands, and sometimes we are lucky enough to see your handsome face and even a body shot occasionally!
I've noticed that there are others out there now. I found out by checking out their videos. sad. You have nothing to worry about.
There is no other Gunner. So, thank you for your work. You are amazing!!!

Oh Gunnar, you nailed it with this one! From a former sacred clothing designer (I had a sewing machine and serger I took to sacred locations and helped various holy men and women who were putting on large ceremonies ) I also had to come up with ideas inspired from nature. I can appreciate more than most of your followers exactly what it's like to stay up late or get up super early to finish an unconventional piece. You and I would have a blast comparing notes. Anyway, I DO have a design challenge for you . As a person who uses a wheelchair to get from point A to point B, I"m constantly looking for garments that one can put on quickly and easily. When you are wheelchair bound getting dressed is more complicated due to balance and strength issues. I'm lucky that I can stand for a minute or maybe two. I'm looking for something that's pretty around the neck and accommodating for a plus sized 63 year old super creative woman awaiting surgery that hopefully will allow me to walk again. My chair is not motorized and so stretchy fabrics work for the torso that has to move easily as I have to use my arms and upper body strength to wheel myself around. - Su

Gorgeous dress as ever. Superb job burnt fingers and all. Bougainvillea’s are so lovely. The wide array of colors this plant grows are always so vivid. BTW…I’m in agreement with you regarding Daniel on PR. Not only is he divine but the dress he made, that you referenced, was unforgettable.

I use flat and beautiful when I'm flat ironing at the salon. This dress reminds me of McQueens feather work on his creations. Always a treat to see Gunnar, and a cutie-patootie to boot.

Gunnar you are so talented, and so calming to watch. I've sewed in my day, mostly curtains and my three children's Halloween costumes because I just couldn't afford to pay the prices in the store but I just am mesmerized by your talent. If I was ever to win the lottery I would hire you to not only be my stylist, my seamstress, my designer, you would be in charge of every garment I put on my body as well as my husband ❤️❤️❤️💯

This is so Barbie princess or fairy or something, like I can see a beautiful Barbie girl in the forest or palace courtyard and singing while petals flurry around her and magically become a beautiful dress for her :)
