- This is going to be a video where a lot of people will probably get mad. Keep in mind that the information that I'm putting out there can be used to also prevent poaching from your own guild if used correctly. This is another long video so I really just edited footage in for background so it's not just me but I don't really expect anyone to actually watch me run heroics for a half hour :P

Make a video on "how to start raiding" I feel like your insight and speaking style would help the scrublife n00blords who want to try and play with the big boys.

I have a setting that puts video links in a spam folder, I allowed this one because it's an informative video from the raid leader of one of the best guilds in the world.
Just because it's not my content doesn't mean that it's not helpful, but yeah I get a lot of people trying to advertise their videos on comments on my page, but this isn't one of those times :D

I'm not even in a good enough guild to poach, but your videos are fun to watch dude, keep it up.
A few weeks after joining the guild i am now, they choosed me as raid leader (when we started raiding) some time after, the guild master had to leave the guild for personal reasons, and it seems like everyone above me on the hierarchy had some problems (the brother of one of ther slipped juice in his pc) and, since then, i kinda turned into a guild master, but withount any experience or idea of what to do.
These videos of yours have benn helping me a lot, even that a i don't follow them strictly, they help me to see what i am suposed to be thinking about.
(This one is especially useful, since i am into a girl who has a boyfriend.)

I use to be the cross server poacher for my guild. Would spend hours looking through trash guilds that were 1-3/whatever mythic and would sweet talk these people to transfer. I love poaching, I love hearing guilds cry that you're a poacher, and i love taking good players because I want a raid environment. If you think you're going to have a successful guild from spamming trade chat you're doing it wrong. Also if you cry that people are poachers, enhance your raiding environment. Almost any good player will leave if the raid environment is shitty friends with raid lead or not.
I actually really enjoy these. I'm not an officer in my guild, but it's nice to learn a bit about how they are thinking.

Boy, this brings back memories of guild swirling. Think I was one of those recruits you describe, during BC and Wrath. Didn't make the final core that moved on to better things.

Back when throne of thunder released, I was an officer in a guild that decided to merge with another one, so we could take raiding a bit more seriously. We weren't so bad, we were progressing on lei-shen heroic and we were very close to the kill, but after the merge, everything fell apart. Long story short, key members vanished or transferred to other realms, or simply quit.
I'd like to see a video from you about things you need to take under consideration when you are trying to merge two guilds, or two raiding teams in general.

It's not a bad thing to steal players, I work in the Aerospace industry and people are always being hired/fired and moved around all the time. It's a competitive industry and we look for good people to hire. Same as a guild, if you want good people your'e going to have to steal them from other companies
My guild is currently a feeder guild on a low pop server. The highest progression on our realm is currently 6/7M, 7/10M, and our guild is 1/7M, 10/10H, with 9/10H on one shots. Recruitment is our biggest issue, as some of our raiders are not skilled enough for mythic, and even with those players, we only have about 13 consistent players. How can we advertise ourselves as a good guild, and recruit players who are at that mythic level of raiding?

Any way you could make a video as a Raid Leader about dealing with issues in guilds to try to put out fires? You mentioned people wanting to change guilds with Paragons as an example. I really like your commentary videos and I feel allot of raid leaders have no idea how to quell fires in guild I.E drama, people leaving, stuck on bosses, etc.
I would like to but I'll kind of have trouble giving out advice when a lot of that stuff is super subjective to the specific incident at hand.
That's true, I guess it was more geared towards a halt in progression or getting caught up on one boss for too long.
Make a video about how you handle players who move on to better guilds but want to use your guild as their doghouse for alts. Also, someone who alt raids in your guild as well as raids in another guild on the same level and whether or not they should be given some kind of inclusion in to the roster while sitting some of your core group out.
As long as they are contributing to the raid team in the same way that a normal raider would, there should be no problems.
Can definitely say I've seen guild poaching and to some extent been poached in a game once. Didn't really think about it and got to play on their team before I joined so as much as it's bad for raid leaders it's some form of competition for good players. Poaching isn't bad if it means a player gets out of a toxic guild or a guild that doesn't fit how hardcore/casual they are. Ideally everyone would join the guild that fits them best and a guild should try to find members that fit them well. If you poach people to use them to benefit your inner circle only in the guild then it's just bad for the game. If a guild has a very tight clique that's closed off from the new players then a guild with a smaller clique or a clique that's more open to the rest of the guild would likely be an improvement.

Me too, the red debuff oneshots me. I made a post about it on the forums and when it's fixed I'll have out my guide for how to solo Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider, that's the only one I have left to do.

yo asmongold....I need a video on how to arrange your real life stuff in order to make raiding possible and things you can do, jobs you can find that make raiding possible, things that someone with a lot of real life stuff going on could do in order to find time to raid on wow, or ways you could change your life to make more time to open your time frame up specifically to raid, and if you cant make all of guilds raid times or something like that how to manipulate your schedule so you could make times.

Is it unusual that my guild has a rank who's whole purpose is to go into other guilds to "pinch" their membership. We have an alt at a guild bank, and a well written guide to people joining the pinchers would be appreciated.

How do you hide your guild's problems before they join? Not lying about them, but avoiding the topic and never making any indication that might turn them away?
Just don't bring it up, or present them in a positive light. You'd have to be a lot more specific for me to say exactly what I'd do though.

Asmongold say someone who isn't really pulling their weight, likes to stir up stuff for their own amusement BUT has another friend in the guild who is a freaking beast that you would like to keep.. Lol I think it might be a lost cause :-/
I'd kick them both out and cut my losses, when one person receives special treatment, the rest of the guild will either expect that special treatment also or become discontent because of it.
Basically you take a short term loss for a long term gain.

CPUzer0 I disagree. I'm a very moralistic, person, but I don't think trying to recruit members of other guilds is a bad thing. They wouldn't leave the guild if they weren't already unhappy, right? As long as you're not manipulating them by telling them their guild leader thinks they suck, etc. then I don't see the harm in it.
