I am a runner and fitness instructor. I have a Jones fracture and haven't walked in over 3 weeks. I have been creative with my workouts, and so impressed with how fit you look for someone who can't walk. It was really inspiring to me. I also loved that you were able to maintain so much strength that you walked so well on day 1! It motivates me to keep my body strong too! Thank you!
I also have Jones fracture, after how long were you able to walk completely without crutches?
Wow that’s amazing it must feel amazing I’m currently nervous as hell because I’ve lost leg muscle because of my ankle breaking and I feel like it’ll be awhile more until I can take back my normal life .

I had ankle orif they put plate and screws in. On my six weeks post op I was walking like you already without PT, i was too impatient lol. Doctor wants me to take it easy and see a PT which I did. I though PT was kinda BS, felt like I could do those things in the gym. I'm on my 9 weeks now and pretty much doing everything on my own.
Chibibo Streetwear hi there may I ask you how did it feel when you walked for the first time? As I had orfi surgery and next week it’s gonna be 3 weeks left for me so I’d like some advise please
I broke my tibia and had a knee fracture on the same leg. Seeing you do what took me 3 weeks to do is so motivational my dude!
How did you get rid of the hop on day 1?
Omg I'm kinda the same! I'm still recovering. Did it hurt when you started to put weight on it? How long did it take for you to walk normally again?
myself Last, the hop didn’t go away for a a couple weeks or a month. It took me a while to literally learn how to walk again since I had a broken ankle on my left leg and the tibia and knee fractures on my right leg. But it was all practice and literally walking around my house.
Dianne Grace Casil, it didn’t hurt much. The only pain was when regaining the range of motion. But the worst part is when you stop using a crutch, it felt like trying to lift a weight that’s way to heavy. I was walking normally after about 2 month I would say. But I was up and about in about a month. I was stuck in bed for about 4 months so the muscle loss might be different than yours!
Mexican10569 I had my surgery last Jan and was only able to put weight on it mid March. I'm trying to practice walking again but it's more of a limp and coz I'm scared of putting too much pressure on my knee. I broke my tibial plateau and fractured my shin of my left leg. I still walk with crutches. Although sometimes I try to walk without it.
Did they put anchors in your hips ? Shave your bones? I just have the surgery which they repaired my Labrum and shave my bones the hips socket and the balls or the femur? It’s my 2nd week and still my hips and knee still swollen and I can’t still get your the bed without a help with my wife. I hope give some ideas how to deal with this cause it my first orthopaedics surgery. Thanks
I got in a car wreck about 3 1/2 months ago I shattered my femur and broke my ankle I know have a metal rod and bunch of plates I watched this video and gives me motivation..yes of course I’m learning how to walk at the moment but dayum man I wish I was just able do it like this..

I was In a car accident the day after New Years i was in a head on collision and I broke my femur and my wrist I have a plate in my arm and a rod in my leg I can walk with a walker but I can’t without it . I’m learning to walk again I’m just terrified it won’t look the same as before
How can i run ??

Thanks for posting these! I am having this surgery next week, and am having a hard time finding any information on what to expect post-op. How long after surgery until you could drive?
LaurenMichelle I'm glad you like them! That was my goal is to spread a little bit of knowledge on what to expect. I was able to drive once I was off meds which was about a week. But when I had my right leg done I waited about 2-3 weeks when I was allowed to walk. I have more vids coming soon!
@LaurenMichelle How is your recovery going? I had a motorcycle accident in 2016 which fractured my tibia/fibula/femur now i have the intramedullary rods and screws.
It was also very hard to find any information about this on any website as to recover. Best thing is squats/standing on your toes and going flat foot repetitions/leg raises/side raises/standing side raise/standing front raise/standing back raise of the fractured leg, Get a theraband and start doing resistance training with your affected leg.
I sprained my left ankle and I'm going back to walking from crutches soon after 6 weeks and I've tried to put a little weight on my ankle and my ankle won't hold my body weight anymore.

Does it feel like it won’t hold the body weight or did the doctor say it won’t hold it? 7 mos here without walking, ya know the whole lose your job cus they won’t give you time off and lose your insurance thing. Getting surgery soon and scared of learning to walk again

Had broken ankle surgery two months ago they took my cast and said I can start walking but it hurts is this normal my bone hurts burns can't walk
How did you get on? I just had final surgery last week. In a cast for the next 6 weeks then a moon boot for 8 weeks.
I fractured my tib/fib mountain biking and it’s been two months i’m just now starting to walk again I had surgery and they put two screws in my lower foot/ankle area. I haven’t been able to do anything for awhile and i’m supposed to fully walk in two weeks

I broke my ankle 2 months ago, i am still not able to walk! Is it normal to walk with a metal plate in your leg ? Someone plz reply 😭 my family doctor said i should meet my surgeon and remove it soon.
I fractured my leg just below the kneecap and it's been about 7 weeks and I've just started to walk on it (assisted with crutches) and it's so weak. Getting better though

Omg omg did you just say you feel like your left leg is longer than the other??? I broke my ankle last year in March, and I didn’t have much trouble walking until now and I feel like my left leg is longer!!

Usually that’s because when you break something that limb stops growing because it’s hurt but the other one keeps growing as normal
I had ankle surgery and i cant walk nomally and the doctor will remove my other crutch this week but i still limp i dont recall how to walk without crutches
So I just broke my leg I got my cast of yesterday and stop can not walk
OMG is it your day 1 after removing your stiches or what??if that's true your amazing man
I dislocated and broke my ankle in six places back in January and 14weeks later I’m back to walking and full weight baring. Slight limp mind.....

This boy is so darned cute. Reminds me of my daughter's ex -- who is a caramel of sweetness. Anyway, I'm the one trying to walk after an ankle fracture, so I was very proud of your accomplishment there!

Why has it taken me 2 months?
I haven't walked probably for almost 15 months and I don't think I will ever walk again pray for me the nhs killed me

This is bs. I come looking for stuff abt learning to walk again and u start the video off with random ppl lifting weights and u showing us how to eat some from a store. Smh😂😂
