One guy is a world class innovator in guitar, another plays 10 instruments, sometimes 3 at once, the drummer keeps time and pace like a metronome, 4 guys sing with perfect pitch in 3-part harmony and then there is a brilliant, Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter fronting the band, with a stellar collection of songs about genuine life experiences. Can anyone possibly ask for more?
Do you really want to know the best about this concert? THE RESPECTFUL CROWD. Not a single mobile phone pointing at the stage. True interest in this true finesse.
Glenn Kotche appreciation post....not a drummer but goddamn that man has exquisite touch and just seems to find the exact right beats for every song. You can hear the absolute precision and authority of his playing in every snap of the snare and ring of the cymbals here and the mix is so clean allowing his drumming space to breathe and extend. Brilliant.
Wilco is probably my all-time favorite band. After randomly picking up AM on cassette 20+ years ago, then playing it 'til the tape got sucked into my car's player. Then "Being There" came out and boom, told everyone about it. Too many classics to count, too many perfect guitar solos, too many beautiful moments. This band makes me feel at home.
I attended the gig in London, I had seen there many times before and listened to all their records for the last 20 years.....but I had never realised how beautiful 'Reservations' was..
I was there! Right in front of the stage! Briljant performance. Had a great time. Wilco is the best. Amazing how they play everything live, no click track or anything, just great musicians at the top of there game!
The great players do it from time to time. Nels often has to do it on IG, after he plays the section where he shreds from BEHIND the bridge on his Jazzmaster, because it knocks the 4th or 5th string out of tune (no tune locks on a JM bridge). Some guys, like Holdsworth, Hedges, Johnson, Keaggy, Matheny etc tune a string or two (usually the 6th and 1st) down on the fly to drop the tuning for a section and then tune back up flawlessly in the same solo. Muscle memory!
Like an aged wine in oak barrels, Wilco continues to age in characteristic ways that follow their own trajectory and no on else's. This is the sign of following one's soul and listening to calling. This performance is so perfectly Wilco in a maturely aged state that it's hard to describe what is fully presented here. All we can do is listen and be moved.
Just saw this concert tonight in Milwaukee. Did not know any of their music. Was absolutely blown away with the guitar solo 53:10. I haven't heard this caliber of guitar playing since the late 60s-70s.
Pot Kettle Black has never been among my favourites, but this version is wonderful! What a great show! A nice little gift for a snowy Friday morning. Much appreciated!
Thanks for posting this fantastic show. To many Wilco fans this will be very welcome. To any new people discovering the wonderful music of Wilco for the first time they will be in for a treat.
I always love how they start out low key and just keep building intensity through out the show! I helped sell their merch at their Indianapolis, IN show on this tour it was a great experience.
Thanks for the stream. I have seen wilco 10, 11, 12 times but this was beyond amazing. Sound was amazing and great video to. Thanks again for being my # 1 band .
Great sound and vision. This takes me right back to the London Brixton Academy show. Simply one of the best gigs I've ever been to by one of the best bands in the world today. Watch and be amazed...
tirando a parte que ele tira sarro dos sul americanos que ficam cantando a parte da guitarra em Randon Name Generator hahahaha, orra tinha até uma comunidade aqui WILCO COME TO BRAZIL e o cara ainda tira onda hahahaha
Waiting to see if anyone else commented on that. It added something special and seemed to fit the unique, yet very American, sound of Wilco, a band from the middle of the country
As a guitarist I really dig hearing all the different instruments they use. The tone and textures of each is suited to the song. Like the Beatle bass around 1:34 for example. That song just needs that thuddy sound. Awesome!
love it love it love it love it love it! I have star wars and shcmilco and i love them love them love them - seen wilco twice here in melbourne australia and look forward to seeing them again - yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
thanks for sharing this to the masses. It's been said a hundred times already in this thread, but holy rice this is a good audio. super big props to the sound crew
Always remember seeing them in'99 in Philly on a hunch..Jay Bennett was unreal,Cline's even Better,Tweedy's genius, the Broken metal heart of Real Weird America..
1:01:44 All right... This is another song off of our record from last year. That was a song off of our record from this year, "Schmilco." And this is off our record called "Star Wars." And no, we did not give up naming our albums... Those are, uh, serious names.

Well, so long as you're asking, I'd like some whisky too.
@@calvinjluther You are a greedy man, Calvin. Whiskey granted, nonetheless.
No
Fully agreed!
No!!! one could not ask for more. For the reasons listed above, in my world (admittedly a weird one), Wilco is the best band in America today...Period
Do you really want to know the best about this concert? THE RESPECTFUL CROWD. Not a single mobile phone pointing at the stage. True interest in this true finesse.
I was there. Thank you for the compliment 😊
Standing ovation for the Sound Engineer...greatness! Best live wilco mix ever!
Got lost more than once picking out every input
Nel's Jazzmaster at it's best...but it was a bit muted. Still an awesome cut!
I agree what a fantastic sound, so well mixed and balanced. Both the slower quieter, softer numbers and also the loud rockier stuff. Briliant show.
indeed man, awesome sound quality.
All of the AB shows have superb sound quality. Especially the All Them Witches show.
1. Be one of the most amazing songwriters, guitarists, singers ever
2. Surround yourself with just absolutely world class musicians
3. Be Wilco
Two plus one equals three, yes indeed!
Greatest American band of the last 25 years!
One of them for sure. Absolutely amazing live shows! For the record id put them 2nd. Not at all a putdown haha
@@brandonlbartlett Who's 1st?
Greatest American band ever if you ask me. The velvets and the doors didn’t make enough music
👍😘
@@lukebrown5855 correct take
56:03 - fixed an out-of-tune string mid-solo and worked it in so it resolved perfectly - brilliant.

Love you all🙏❤️
Nobody loves me like you do❤️
and perhaps the hardest worker there on stage!
Lake Park HS alumni ❤️
that Impossible Germany solo!!!! Genius
chills
Great song.
What a band! They are cooking!
I was literally thinking the same thing. Nels Cline is a machine. And the little grin on Jeff's face during the solo pretty much spells it out :-D
Goosebumps!!
I love how they go into those chaotic moments and come out at exactly the same time

One of the best recordings of Wilco in existence. Thanks
They should release this as a CD
My favorite band...20 years and counting. Their genius can be so subtle...so unassuming...and yet so very intense. Thank you Wilco!!!!!!
Well said.
one of the most amazing guitar solos i have ever witnessed during "Impossible Germany"!!
Nels is working that Jazzmaster bridge pickup like a tired old hooker
breathing life back into her with each and every stab
Nels, truly is a unique player, never heard anything like it
So, so good. Nels just burns the house down. "Impossible Germany" belongs in the Smithsonian. Epic 3 guitar throw down.
As close to being at a Wilco show as it gets soundwise. Absolutely stunning in all regards. Miss this so much...
I attended the gig in London, I had seen there many times before and listened to all their records for the last 20 years.....but I had never realised how beautiful 'Reservations' was..
This is the best Wilco live show on RUclips!!
Love for all the Wilco fans all over the world ♥️ excellent sound & concert. Hugs from Argentina 🇦🇷
Could be my favorite Wilco set of all time.
Might have to agree with you
I was there! Right in front of the stage! Briljant performance. Had a great time. Wilco is the best. Amazing how they play everything live, no click track or anything, just great musicians at the top of there game!
Wilco always takes me to heaven and beyond. One of the world's best bands.
Nels on Impossible Germany WOW
If I Ever Was a Child is my song of the year. Grammy worthy.
What a lovely backdrop, can't help but believe inspired their performance, truly excellent concert!
Normal American Kids is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
That and "If I Ever was a Child" are so amazing together.
dthol t Cry Cry Cry is pretty damn good too.
Yes to all of this.
Unbelievable. Nels tuning his guitar in the middle of shredding.
I love the…everything that allows me to watch this show over and over, or listen to it via Bluetooth in my car. Ain’t Life Grand??
Nels is king

Truth honestly late-period Wilco is so fuckin' great. I feel like Tweedy was born to be an old guy.

Welcome to the world with Wilco! ♥
Merci Ancienne Belgique 👏👏👏👌👌👌♥️♥️♥️🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🙏🙏🙏
This is a band at the peak of its powers. Funny thing, they've been so for more or less 20 years
Pot Kettle Black has never been among my favourites, but this version is wonderful! What a great show! A nice little gift for a snowy Friday morning. Much appreciated!
That solo on Impossible Germany is genius
Greatest band, best sound ever, saw them in Utrecht, NL yesterday...Beautifull video, for the memories
That we lived at a time to experience such musical greatness. God bless Wilco!
Impossible Germany, wonderful and powerful song!! Great show!!!
Thanks for posting this fantastic show. To many Wilco fans this will be very welcome. To any new people discovering the wonderful music of Wilco for the first time they will be in for a treat.
This man tuned his guitar mid solo. I love nels and this might be one of my favorite impossible Germany solos
If you know a better one, send it on to me here. I've been looking through them and I can't find one better, but there are a lot out there.
I was there and it was amazing!! Thank you very much AB!
It's impossible not to love Impossible Germany.
Alors là vraiment, tout est parfait, le son, l'image, le public, la prestation incroyable de wilco au sommet. Bravo.
Desde el 1:06:35 solo para los que hace poco los habíamos visto en el festival BUE en Bs.As.
Saw them this summer at the Cactus Festival - with the superb Calexico . It was fantastic
Was at the Brixton gig in London. Thanks for keeping my memories alive!
What a fantastic performance and what a fantastic recording!
Reservations nearly brought me to tears... but then that bloody Impossible Germany solo was there to make sure it would happen! 😂 absolutely brilliant
Hands down one of the best video featuring Wilco on YT.
Wow, feeling like I'm there! Thank you so much AB for the stream with great sounds.
wilco is my favorite band ever, they are perfect to me
That guitar solo in Impossible Germany though! 😍😍😍
Putting a jazz guitarist in a rock band is the best idea anyone has ever had.
It worked for the Police.
One of the best versions of Via Chicago I've ever heard.......goddamn
Wilco keeps getting better and better.
What a great way to enjoy my yard work today. Thanks for this and thanks for Wilco!
thank you AB. said you recommended this. not sure what that means, but I love these guys. been there since Tupelo

Wow, the art/deco onstage is amaaaaaazing!! Must have been a really great experience, being in the audience!
I agree this mix is phenomenal. Just saw them live Jun 9, 2017 @ Wolf Trap in VA. Great Show.
the crowd emulating the band's sound at the end of Kidsmoke is stellar!
Awesome performance visually and audio is terrific by the sublime Wilco, My favorite band since their inception in 1995.
I've never liked Impossible Germany much until I heard that solo. Wow.
Holy cats!
“Kidsmoke” to end all “Kidsmoke”. And they LEFT on that!!! A great crowd rooting on a magical band; can’t ask for more.

Best Pot Kettle Black I've ever heard.
Yes! I’ve been coming back for two years to listen this interpretation.
It´s always amazing but the Lollapalooza's 2008 live version is my favourite.

Best guitar solo ever. Best guitar duet ever. Best guitar trio ever ... Impossible Germany
That solo on @53:10 legendary!!
How did I miss this group until now? I just listened to "Impossible Germany." It's a fantastic band, and great writing.
Was at the London shows and all I can say is nice work on this. Sounds ace thrown through my amp and looks great on my tv too. Cheers.

Nels Cline's guitar tone in via Chicago is sensational. One of the great guitarists.

Can we see this amazing band again live ? Yes post Covid! Stay safe and it will become a reality again!
I have been following / seeing these guys (when I can) for 2/3rds of Wilco's existence. Got to admit, this show was a rocker !!!!! woah !
It's cool they're playing again Spiders in its original version
