I am 63 years old. As a young man I idolised guitar players with technical brilliance. Over time I have found that the rarest, purest pleasure comes from a guitarist who is playing with emotion…lost in the moment. The ones that move your soul, rather than impress with fast finger work. Hendrix had both. I can feel something stirring when Daniel’s mind is in another space. The dirty sound in Howling Around My Happy Home (52m) is full of emotion, rather than technical brilliance…especially after 59m. Does more for me than the superstars of the late 1960s.

Just discovered these guys last week and can't stop listening. My first thought was that they're picking up on the best features of so many of my favorites (The Dead, Hendrix, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Wilco, Radio Head) and integrating them in a new and brilliant way. But the more I listen I'm starting to think all those other bands were/are simply channeling a limited version of the musical essence I hear when I listen to Daniel Norgren. One week in and I already know I'll be listening to this guy for the rest of my life!
one of the best artists of our generation. incredible song writing, voice, and musical excellence. the blues and folk artists from 50 and 60 years would be proud of Daniel Norgren. such an incredible talent. I wish he was more popular in the USA

I learned about him this summer, from a random young father on a camping site in France, dancing to Moonshine Got Me with his toddler directly under the Pont d'Arc. I hadn't heard that much soul in a long time and had to ask for the name. Have been a big fan since.
I have no doubt listened to this more than any other live set from any band. I am so glad I came upon this recording. I wish I knew him (them) years ago when he came to the USA because I would have traveled quite a distance to see them live. If they ever come back across the pond and play in New England I will be there!

Yesterday I rewatched the movie The eight mountains.
One of the most beautiful movies, and the music of Daniel Norgren in this movie is wonderfull! So emotionally touching! It fits perfect in the amazing scenery.
Its seriously good performance, I keep coming back to it.
The main riff on Moonshine Got Me will forever be on of the greatest blues licks/riffs ever to be written. Perfect mixture of soul, feel, groove and dirt!
Same, never gets boring or old. Fun to Play it also.
I came here just for Why May I Not Go Out and Climb the Trees. But I gave this a listen too. Definitely a underappreciated talent

Our Leonberger (5 years old) died in august, after months of sickness. Late that evening, I sat down in the garden and listened to some music to calm down. It cannot be called coincidence that Norgren came along, with the song: Everlasting Friend. Since then I'm hooked. Since then I crie, when I hear it. ♡

I find it's very hard to find naturally talented musicians on YT. Big money/corporations have the monopoly on what people hear. We need to promote/share our homegrown talented people, makes our roots stronger too. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪

One of the greatest live shows that I know of! An absolute favorite, no doubt. And it'll surely stay that way. I've sadly only seen him perform live once, and very rarely do you experience an artist who's better live than on record, but he's one of them. I was completely blown away at the beginning of the first song, and it just kept going throughout the show. It was almost like he had playback, but they managed to deliver a magical experience greater than anything recorded, that feeling was the magic everyone is talking about when they are talking about live music shows. I must've watched/listened to this upload about 15-20 times start to finish, it's as close as I can get to replicating the experience. And sure, it's far from the full experience, but it's one of the best live performances on RUclips that I know of. Many thanks for all the hours of listening I've been able to enjoy and will continue to.

Such a great concert, from start to finish. Daniel Norgren is like a mix of Nick Cave and Neil Young, in the best possible way.
Good call on the musician comparison, but I would also include Van Morrison . I believe with Daniels talent and expected longevity, in a couple of decades from now we will be comparing another folk singer and saying " This guy sounds a bit like Daniel Norgren'. For this moment I am just taking in all he has to give us as an amazing artist just as he is.
