Damn, Tweedy is still Incredibly articulate. Wilco is wilco. They own it.
Glenn Kotche is a great drummer. Such a cool style.
Hot dogs on a tambourine never sounded so good! LOL
Yeah Glenn’s such a great musician!!
what the hell is that pretzel stick tambourine thing he has?
He was so annoyed with his headphone cable at 1:45 lol. Didn't miss a beat though
The drums on this album really stand out without being obnoxious or attention seeking if that makes any sense at all.
One of the greatest touring bands on the scene today.
Just saw them at the Sydney Opera House. Still fantastic after all these years
Glenn's killing it on the pretzels..
LOL, but seriously...what is that thing???
Have a music degree and it’s new to me, too.
At first I was like “is he playing an ashtray full of butts.” Nope it is a tray for carrying communion cups stuck full of pretzel sticks…?
@@jorpan83They weren’t crumbling so they can’t be pretzel’s but that is definitely what it looks like!
They are pieces of drum sticks cut up and bound together via string. Similar to a percussion instrument called a marching machine
I feel like Cheryl should be an honorary member of Wilco.
I've outlived my dreams is such a powerful lyric... such a great end to a stanza.
I had never heard of Wilco until my friend Scott let me hear impossible germany... Been a fan ever since. My favorite Wilco tune is one wing.. that is my jam!!!!!
cheryl and jeff is the duo of the year. Two (modestly spoken, humble, articulate) BEASTS of the microphone!
Thank you KEXP. So lucky to have you in Seattle.
Honestly…. they are operating on another level. Kudos, fellas.
Never seen a 9-string guitar before. Watching a new Wilco video always includes me having to pause and try to figure out what weird cool instruments these guys have brought out.
This inspired "War On Drugs", and a so many more! Thx Wilco, from 1st till now.
My god Levee is such a hauntingly beautiful song
Step away from the delta 9, lol
Jeff’s bed head is ALWAYS on point.
Fucking love this band with my whole heart. I aspire to be just like them
Cousin is a refreshing album, and I'm so glad Wilco is back again so quickly after cruel country!!
Please come to Oregon.
I'm always so jealous of Jeff Tweedy's neverending supply of beautiful guitars.
Consummate pro's these boys are. Always amazing!
This band is truly one of my favorites throughout the last few decades!
What a great band. Thank you KEXP. ❤️
I was also at that Sydney Opera House show last week...one word...epic !!
This show is next level
They have really good dynamics.
I simply love Wilco
So glad this album isn't full of country songs, nice to see them back doing "WIlco" not Tweedy featuring Wilco. These songs are much richer and well thought out
Lovely christmas present. Thank you KEXP
Amo Cousin y a Wilco!!💖 estamos escuchando a la mejor banda en vivo del presente!!!💎💎💎💎💎💎
tienes toda la razón
🎸💜🔥 I love the album. Fun to watch Wilco play it live on KEXP.
Cool to see the new guitars Jeff is working. Strat made the lineup. 🎸
I love the Cousin album. Its a real return to form. Great to hear the band back shakin' off the safer country vibes and returning to their edgier, more experimental roots.
I... what? It's weird when a statement is completely backwards.
I do love Cousin, though. Those endless Tweedy waltzes were getting to be a bit much.
@neinnonon - yeah. Probably I should've said their experimental heyday or creative peak - around the time of YHF & Ghost Is Born.
Cousin reminds me of Star Wars.
I'm not one who believes everything must be experimental. That's ego talking.
LOVE WILCO. Perservering through decades and still putting out GREAT STUFF!💗
🤘🤘🎸 🎸 😊
Tweedy so amazing descriptive.. the band is so uniquely different. PERFECT!!!
🤘🤘🎸 🎸 😊
Christmas comes early this year, what a band, what a new record! ❤
This great Band is so perfect for such a long time and what a great work again with "Cousin", thanks guys and keep on rockin´
Jeff goin’ Willie Nelson on that acoustic 😍
Wow, one of their best performances!
Mix is so good on this! Amazing job Kevin!!!
Excellent - particularly love the 'hot dogs tambourine' artfully employed by the drummer. I want one for Christmas.
ugh. these gentlemen are pure art and beauty.
Nels never fails to impress me.
Man brings so much to the stage, no matter what band he's playing with. Glad he's still with Wilco after all these years.
@@UnitePandas I got to see him with Mike Watt on the Engine Room Tour. I had heard him on Ball Hog or Tugboat, but had never seen him. As soon as he started playing I knew who it was and have been a huge fan ever since.
1:47 Glenn looking at his watch for the time 😅 or playing Jeff Beck's Wired.
Great drummer. He also is an actor in Arrested Development and Ozarks! 😊
haha Jason Bateman! 😂
Love Wilco! from Cordoba Argentina!
Oh boy! This is a gift 🎄❤
love this band so much
Beautiful !
Great sound as always, looking forward to listening in full.
What a XMAS present 🎁, pure magic 💖thanks our loved wilco, greeting from Argentina 🇦🇷 ❤
🤘🤘🎸 🎸 😊
this is beautiful. Thank you guys for being always in good shape
So gooooooooood ❤
my heart explodes with happiness
I love all of Wilco's kexp shows. Excited to hear this new albums songs live on the channel. All these songs were amazing when I saw them live this last tour.
Fantastic. Love it.
Punk is dad.
You must be a dad to say such a dad joke 😂
@@gusz77I mean, they ARE watching a Wilco performance. Probably not a big leap of logic lmao
That's funny because Wilco is "dad" rock right?! Hilarious and so true. A couple members are dads. Hhahhaa, being a dad is funny.
Your dad is a punk
Jazz is dead
Beautiful
This man is a LEGEND
Fantastic session.
Thanks guys
Wow!
Yes! Christmas came early this year. They're the masters in my book.
What a great band. I had heard of Nels but are only now discovering the band. Wow, im very impressed. The textures, the arrangements…that drummer is legit…they are all awesome and gel so well. Time to go back and explore their discography!!!
Great interview, Cheryl.
Wilco, te amo! ❤
wow that goes straight to the heart 😍 so exited to see cheryl again yeeee 😍😍😍😍
Absolutely fantastic, can’t wait see in Brisbane next year ✌️❤️🇦🇺
Have they always been this good or have I missed something?
Believe it or not, they've been even better at some points in the past
Cringe.@@hikikomori_3708
They’ve been this good for a long time. The performance that always gets me is the intro to the documentary where they play Ashes of American Flags. Try to watch it without getting a lump in your throat. “I shake like a toothache… when I hear myself sing.” Chills
Wilco is one of those bands that gets better watching them do their thing. The albums can seem simple but watching ol boy slam a charcuterie tray on his floor Tom and Nels doing a weird right hand string bend in the opening song makes you go “oh damn. They’re actually geniuses”
These two options are the same thing
Tremendous set!
NOICE!❤❤❤
Il magnifico sound di Wilco..
hell yeah dudes!
Te quiero mucho wilco
Wow, where have i been
wilco....pure mysterious and eccentric lovely love.....wilco. (((lols-jeff and his guitars))) ❤❤❤
Saw em for my bday last year. Unbelievable band live
those cymbals sound juicy
Love cousin and sounds even better on these sessions
What a great episode. I was at the same show as Cheryl when they were here in Seattle and it was a killer show. All the songs they played off of Cousin translated beautifully to the live setting and I would say were a more powerful than the versions on the album. Wonderful interview and another fantastically recorded performance at KEXP.
Nice..!! 😎
As someone that plays most instruments, I have to give it up to the keyboard player for holding back and not getting bored.
Yahooooo!
Nels Cline is a good guitarist.
He definitely has his moments. Usually from the start to the end.
He's a wizard on that jazzmaster, I don't know the band but I'm here because I knew he was their guitarist
He is the goat
The Cousin tunes sound hot and relaxed and expansive but still meticulous live - and Pittsburgh sits well alongside Via Chicago in my favs list
Shout out to Jeff's hairstylist for those purple highlights!
What a Sound of my Band at 2008
been listening to cousins for the past two months, good stuff
músicos de primer nivel 🔥
Jeff's starting to play the guitar like 'ol John Prine, (damn, we miss him) just resting it on his big old belly! Fantastic new album, and fantastic sound, and Cheryl, the Queen. Thanks KEXP!!
fucking inspiring
Glenn!
The algorithm is working for me?!? This came out today?!?!? Happy Holidays to me! - SL
This session wails
I FUCKIN LOVE WILCO!!!!!!!!
❤🔥
Love this! 🌟🌟✨️
🤘🤘🎸 🎸 😊
If anybody ever asks me "who would you most like to have dinner with?" it would surely be Jeff. Best band in the world.
holy shit
Wilco is my brother, uncle, cousin ❤
Dad?
