Same Reagan! I loved the first three books in TMI, but didn't like the last three. I'm actually reading Clockwork Angel right now, and it's SO GOOD. I can't wait to get my hands on Lady Midnignt next week (sigh; I hate waiting)
I've read The Infernal Devices, and omg it's sooooo good. I haven't read The Mortal Instruments, and I'm still not sure if I'm going to or not. I really wanna read this tho 😁
THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. I totally agree about loving how diverse the cast of characters were and the family dynamic, which was just so heartwarming to read about. I can't wait for the next book!
I just read the second book in TID trilogy and I was shocked that I could ever love a Cassandra Clare series so much since I wasn't really into The Mortal Instruments. I still have to read books 5-6 in that series and the 3rd in The Infernal Devices and I'm going to power through because I'm so excited for Lady Midnight!
Thank you so much for making this video omg I didn't know if I should read this book (I was going to, but I didn't know where to place it on my TBR) because I really liked CoHF but the entire TMI series felt a bit stretched out to me. However, I absolutely loved the Infernal Devices just like you did so now I'm very excited to read Lady Midnight.
Reagan, THANK U. Lots of booktubers are posting reviews about Lady Midnight, but since I haven't finished readind TMI I've been skeptical about getting spoilers of CoHF. When I saw you're video was up, I thought to myself: 'hmmm I know Reagan will tell me straight up, no spoilers'. And then U did
Finished the book a few days ago it was amazing! Can't wait for the live show. I know what you mean by having an hour long discussion video; I had 2.5 hours of film and even though I took out a lot of my theories the video still ended up being over 30 minutes long.
Damn! I just exploding inside to want to read Lady Midnight! I love the Shadowhunters Chronicles so much. CC created such a wonderful vast world. So excited!
I read the whole Mortal Instruments series and LOVED it. But I tried reading The Infernal Devices and I think I read the first one and I got like halfway through the second one, but I wasn't feeling it. I just felt like it was way too similar to TMI in terms of the characters and their relationships. And tbh I'm a little hesitant to pick up Lady Midnight because I feel like it's going to be the same thing.
Thank you for the spoiler free review. I'm still reading it so I'm trying my best to avoid spoilers. Not the easiest thing to do when this is the hot new book out there ;)
I've read The Infernal Devices but not The Mortal Instruments! I don't really want to read TMI but I want to read Lady Midnight. Would I understand most of the story because I've read TID or should I try and read TMI?
Yes you still would, but if you have any interest in The Mortal Instruments I wouldn't recommend reading Lady Midnight only because it spoils lots of the events in TMI
Aw, man - I've been wondering if I should read Lady Midnight for a while now. I just read The Infernal Devices and the first three books of The Mortal Instruments series (I read The Infernal Devices first, which set the bar unfairly high for The Mortal Instruments) - but I guess I'm going to have to read the last three books.
+angela g A shitty person?? I don't know much about her as a person, please elaborate as to what she's done to make her a shitty person! I'm really interested to know..
Should I read Shadowhunter Academy before I read Lady Midnight? Because I heart that there is a plot twist that you can't understand if you haven't read Shadowhunter Academy.
I think it would be very handy because you know some little things and I think you'll understand one of the plottwist better but it isn't that neccesairy but I do recommend it
I don't really want to read Lady Midnight because I really dislike the way she starts mentioning characters of the next series she's going to publish in the last one, and she does this in a way that really contributes nothing to the plot of the actual series but only forces you to keep reading the next books. I mean I hated that Emma and Julian were present in Heavenly Fire just so you'll get interest in their series when they really had not much to offer in Mortal Instruments. I know it connects the stories together and all that but I hate the how manipulative it feels.
Yes, there are two, but they are incapable of taking care of them. I don't want to go into it to not spoil it. One we know why, the other is still left unexplained.
I suggest that if you've tried to read the Mortal Instruments but it just wasn't up to par, just read the wikipedia version instead, because it isn't right to force yourself to read a series that you didn't like. But if you haven't yet, at least try.
Not really. The Infernal Devices is far in the past of The Mortal Instruments, and the characters in Lady Midnight are characters briefly mentioned in The Mortal Instruments. As painful as it might be to take time to do something you're aching to do, it's worth it to read all of the books before- trust me.
What if you read The Mortal Instruments but haven't read The Infernal Devices (I wanted to read it but it drifted from interests cuz I've been very much spoiled), would it be ok to read Lady Midnight?
SHOULD we read The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices to understand Lady Midnight? Because I want to read only one series/trilogy by Cassandra Clare.
I just finished "Clockwork Angel" and I didn't care for it very much... It was probably my least favorite Cassandra Clare book that I have read so far. I'm assuming the series gets better if everyone loves it so much though, right? (I'm not meaning to offend anyone, I just was wondering what everyone's thoughts were)
I have read The Infernal Devices, but I still haven't finished The Mortal Instruments (I only have the last book to read). However, I'm just not a big fan of TMI and it's been so long that I just don't feel like finishing the series. I reaaaaally want to read Lady Midnight though, should I really finish TMI first or will I understand it anyways?
i just finnished reading the infernal devices now im going to be reading the dark artifices i dont have any interest in reading the mortal of instruments series
+Nich There are characters and events from both TID and TMI that appear or get mentioned in Lady midnight so I would read TMI or else you'll miss some things.
+Grace Baldwin the next book is coming out next year and I cant wait that long (it was horrible when i had to wait for Clockwork Princess) so im going to wait until at least the end of this year to read it no matter how tempting it is :)
+Ely Mazing You could either read them in their publication order or you could start with the infernal devices which happen before the mortal instruments.
+raezziiee I have the same issue.. :/ Maybe you should read in the release order. The first 3 Mortal Instruments book, then the Infernal Devices Series, the last 3 books of Mortal Instruments and then Lady Midnight.. They say there are some spoilers of Infernal Devices on the last 3 books of the Mortal Instruments Series. It's super complicated. :/
+LeaTheHatless thats so complicated O_O i've only read City of Bones and a quarter of City of Ashes >< Im gonna have to reread the first two books and marathon this series and my TBR list is getting longer hahaha the struggle is real omg Thanks for the advice btw! :)
Paha I'm just watching review after review trying to formulate my own theories. I just posted my own review (please go watch it maybe? ^.^) and I agree that its a better start than TMI. I think her writing style has really developed throughout her books. I need the next book now blegh
Hi, i'm wondering if you have to read shadowhunter academy before reading lady midnight? I really want to read shadowhunter academy, just not in e-book form, but i dont want to wait all the way to november before getting the bind-up because I really want to read lady midnight right now and not wait like 8 months...:/
It's not necessary to read Shadowhunter Academy before reading Lady Midnight. I've read the ebooks, but the information from those aren't mentioned in LM. You should be fine (:
Please don't take it as an offense or something, that's totally not what I'm aiming for, but I don't understand why people in general have a problem at pronouncing parabatai XD it's peah - rah- buh- thai :)
Finished reading Lady Midnight last night. It was amazing!!
I'm almost done it I only got 4 chapters and annabel epilogue
Same Reagan! I loved the first three books in TMI, but didn't like the last three. I'm actually reading Clockwork Angel right now, and it's SO GOOD. I can't wait to get my hands on Lady Midnignt next week (sigh; I hate waiting)

You look so pretty!
I cracked up at "parabartai" at 4:06 😂😂😂 Love your videos.
THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. I totally agree about loving how diverse the cast of characters were and the family dynamic, which was just so heartwarming to read about. I can't wait for the next book!
aaaaaah so excited! currently reading the shadowhunter academy tales then going right into lady midnight!
im so glad i watched this when u said that i should read the mortal intruments and infernal devices before reading it
I just finished the book and wow can't believe it's been 4 years🤔 also, you look very pretty in this!
WILL DIES AND JEM TURN INTO A SILENR BROTHER
+Dean Ambrose I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU WHY WOULD YOU WHAT WHY I'M ABOUT TO READ CPRINCESS I HATE YOU I HATE YOU
I love all the chacters in lady midnight
I haven’t finished TMI but I really wanna read lady midnight. I just picked it up today and I’m so excited
Thank you so much for making this video omg I didn't know if I should read this book (I was going to, but I didn't know where to place it on my TBR) because I really liked CoHF but the entire TMI series felt a bit stretched out to me. And then U did
You just have convinced me for reading the previous books of Lady Midnight
Finished the book a few days ago it was amazing! Can't wait for the live show. I know what you mean by having an hour long discussion video; I had 2.5 hours of film and even though I took out a lot of my theories the video still ended up being over 30 minutes long.
Great review. I was on the fence about getting this book, but I think I might check it out
I'm always a mess when it comes to Cassandra Clare
You look so pretty! So excited to read Lady Midnight!
Loved your review! I cannot stop thinking about Lady Midnight, especially since I uploaded my review
Damn! I just exploding inside to want to read Lady Midnight! I love the Shadowhunters Chronicles so much. CC created such a wonderful vast world. So excited!
I feel as if I'm the only person ever who liked The Mortal Instruments more than The Infernal Devices. I did love both, but I just liked TMI better
I really loved the mortal instruments series so hopefully I will enjoy this ALOT
Thank you for the spoiler free review. I'm still reading it so I'm trying my best to avoid spoilers. Not the easiest thing to do when this is the hot new book out there ;)
I am so excited to read this book! Currently reading City of Bones in preparation & I can't wait to review this one too. I love your videos!!!
I don't usually like spoiler free reviews, but this one did the book justice
I finished this today! I loved it but it was a bit predictable. And I LOVE Mark ❤️
I'm halfway through and loving it. Devouring every page 💕
You look so pretty today! I can't wait to read this, it sounds so good.
OMG I love all the chacters in this too
I've read The Infernal Devices but not The Mortal Instruments!
+Isabella Kerhoni Okay, thank you!
In my opinion The mortal instruments is better than the infernal devices and tmi is one of my favorite book series so I highly recommend reading it!
Emma shows up in the last book in tmi
Aw, man - I've been wondering if I should read Lady Midnight for a while now. I just read The Infernal Devices and the first three books of The Mortal Instruments series (I read The Infernal Devices first, which set the bar unfairly high for The Mortal Instruments) - but I guess I'm going to have to read the last three books.
+Caroline Katierose (Katierosefun) Don't expect the same quality as TID for the last 3 in TMI haha. They're enjoyable but not as good as TID.
I couldn't help but misshear it. The Faeries were blamed for WWI.
No she compared what happen to the Fairy to what happen to German in WW1.
+Lis Albers THOSE DARN FARIES AND THEIR TRENCH WARFARE
Maxxinee Yanez lmao yeah I know I missheard it. I just thought it was funny :)
PeruseProject Oh my Rowling, you replied!!!!
Sorry lol
+Maxxinee Yanez no problem 😉
I feel like the only one who hasn't read any Cassandra Clare and don't have any interest to
+Elena Lucy Youre really not missing out
yes you are lol
+Elena Lucy if you ever have curiosity honestly the infernal devices were incredible just just fafhaèosihjraopehaehr
trust me you're not. personally i feel like she's a terrible writer. (also a shitty person, so there's that)
+angela g A shitty person?? I don't know much about her as a person, please elaborate as to what she's done to make her a shitty person! I'm really interested to know..
Should I read Shadowhunter Academy before I read Lady Midnight? Because I heart that there is a plot twist that you can't understand if you haven't read Shadowhunter Academy.
I think it would be very handy because you know some little things and I think you'll understand one of the plottwist better but it isn't that neccesairy but I do recommend it
+Emma L. Okay, thank you!
I used to have the hardback but now I got paperback
read Lord Of Shadow its a perfect book, even better than Lady Midnight!
Have you read the Shadowhunter Academy novellas?
I don't really want to read Lady Midnight because I really dislike the way she starts mentioning characters of the next series she's going to publish in the last one, and she does this in a way that really contributes nothing to the plot of the actual series but only forces you to keep reading the next books. I mean I hated that Emma and Julian were present in Heavenly Fire just so you'll get interest in their series when they really had not much to offer in Mortal Instruments. I know it connects the stories together and all that but I hate the how manipulative it feels.
hey Regan
But why Julien was forced to act as father figure at 12? Weren't there some adult shadowhunters who could and should take care of them?
Yes, there are two, but they are incapable of taking care of them. I don't want to go into it to not spoil it. One we know why, the other is still left unexplained.
Kity will happen
Hi :D I have a question
+piniusika Julia NO NO NO
I suggest that if you've tried to read the Mortal Instruments but it just wasn't up to par, just read the wikipedia version instead, because it isn't right to force yourself to read a series that you didn't like. But if you haven't yet, at least try.
Hmm you can but all the books are connected so i would prefer that you read everything
I want this book so bad!! Ah!
Will you make a spoilery review?
SHOULD we read The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices to understand Lady Midnight? Because I want to read only one series/trilogy by Cassandra Clare.
Was that a city of heavenly fire there? :'( why do I watch all your videos!!! WHY????
I just finished "Clockwork Angel" and I didn't care for it very much... It was probably my least favorite Cassandra Clare book that I have read so far. I'm assuming the series gets better if everyone loves it so much though, right? (I'm not meaning to offend anyone, I just was wondering what everyone's thoughts were)
It definitely does get better and I personally really enjoyed the series!
+Chibi Tiffy Ok! Thank you!!!
hey, you look gorgeous in this video
+Mariana Porceli do yourself a favor and read The infernal devices. It's so GOOD! and it will definitely make reading LM a whole lot better :)))
Is this better than the infernal devices?
I love your channel! You're so cool!
+Laurence Roberge There will be a lot of details that you won't understand if you don't read COHF first.
Patrice Linman Thank you! :)
+Laurence Roberge You're welcome :)
So weird to see you talking about Shadowhunter stuff, for some reason I thought you didn't like it! Anyways
i just finnished reading the infernal devices now im going to be reading the dark artifices i dont have any interest in reading the mortal of instruments series
Can I just read the infernal devices but skip the mortal instruments and then read lady midnight?
+Nich There are characters and events from both TID and TMI that appear or get mentioned in Lady midnight so I would read TMI or else you'll miss some things.
Do I have to read TID before this book? I have read all of TMI already. I got this book from the library already. :/
I have the book but I dont want to read it but here I am watching this video
+Torisgirlfreind why aren't you reading it?
+Grace Baldwin the next book is coming out next year and I cant wait that long (it was horrible when i had to wait for Clockwork Princess) so im going to wait until at least the end of this year to read it no matter how tempting it is :)
respect for waiting that long. I waited a week to read it and it killed me but now the year and two months wait is also terrible.
Can you do a spoiler review?
She is doing a live show with Sasha, right? So isn't she going to do the spoiler stuff then? :)
OMG!!!! Yesssssssss!
I want to read Lady Midnight and skip TMI books 4 to 6. I have read TMI 1 to 3, and TDI trilogy. -_-
should i read the shadowhunters academy first before i read lady midnight?
I don't think it's absolutely necessary but it is recommended to read it beforehand
+Ella Heading thanks. 😊
HELP!!
Is there a certain order to read The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments??? Thanks!
+Ely Mazing You could either read them in their publication order or you could start with the infernal devices which happen before the mortal instruments.
I've read all of TIF and all of TMI except City of Heavenly Fire, so do you think it's necessary for me to finish TMI before reading Lady Midnight?
+Amy Coles Yes because plot points from COHF are talked about a lot in Lady Midnight.
😂😂 your intro!
I've only read TMI 1-3 and TID 1-2, is it enough to read Lady Midnight?
No. It spoils TID
You have to read all of Cassies books
Thanks
+Abbygail Mendoza And you also have to read TID 3 before TMI 6.
Hello! ☺️ would you recommend reading the Mortal Instruments first then Infernal Devices then Lady Midnight? Or the order doesn't matter? 😊
+raezziiee I have the same issue.. :/
Maybe you should read in the release order. The first 3 Mortal Instruments book, then the Infernal Devices Series, the last 3 books of Mortal Instruments and then Lady Midnight..
They say there are some spoilers of Infernal Devices on the last 3 books of the Mortal Instruments Series.

+LeaTheHatless thats so complicated O_O i've only read City of Bones and a quarter of City of Ashes >< Im gonna have to reread the first two books and marathon this series and my TBR list is getting longer hahaha the struggle is real omg

Good reading. o/
