Agreed! Hildago got me watching the team…honestly, but I fell in love with Maddie’s game. You could see her importance and impact when she got hurt. The team missed her. I think she should be a lottery pick. One thing you left out is she is a decent rebounder too. She doesn’t mind getting in the paint. She really does have more of an WNBA game. I can’t wait to watch them this season.
Maddy Westbeld is the obvious and perfect replacement for NaLyssa Smith in the draft since we know now that she most likey won't return next season. The Fever need to do whatever it takes to acquire Satou Sabally in the offseason to contend next season. A lineup of Clark, Mitchell, Hull, Sabally, and Boston is top 3 in the W.
Westbeld is not underrated, anyone who is a fan of the college game knows how good she is but we must accept that the current PG on her team is a shoot-first guard. With Miles returning it will not get better because both Hidalgo and Miles need the ball in their hand to be productive, then the third choice will be Citron, before Westbeld but I hope that the team who drafts her will play her consistently.
Sorry but I don’t really understand the “hidalgo and miles both need the ball in their hands to be productive” like the two are equivalent. I feel that’s very oversimplified. Yes, Miles starts the possession with the ball, but her whole thing is that she prefers to pass first and she creates offense for others. If Westbeld is open, Miles will feed her. I’m sure she has a high level of trust with Westbeld because Westbeld is a 5th year veteran and a smart player. Hidalgo’s court vision had to develop over the season but frequently she would miss an open teammate and force a contested shot herself. Miles is the opposite, she will get her team the best shot every possession, they just have to make it. This is why I hope Ivey lets Miles be the one to run the offense most of the time. Hidalgo is a very good passer with good court vision but Miles is an ELITE passer with THE BEST court vision in college basketball.
Statistically Maddys best years were without Olivia Miles. Maybe it’s a coincidence but that seems interesting. Hidalgo doesn’t need the ball in her hand to be productive. Olivia Miles is a better floor general, while Hidalgo is a better scorer. Miles will be the 1 while Hidalgo is the 2.
@@maxpower247 Westbeld’s first year she put up better numbers because it was a weaker team she was probably the best player on there. Technically miles was on the team that year but only for a few games Westbeld continued to be a solid player the two years after that, but she wasn’t as good as she was this year. She was kinda inconsistent on offense and too passive at times. She took a significant leap in 23-24 and didn’t have to do with Miles not playing imo. She was visibly in way better shape, and clearly more aggressive asserting herself on offense EVERY game like she needed to do as a senior leader. She was very consistent and really the rock of the team. Hidalgo was the spark but they would have really struggled without Westbeld’s steadiness considering half the team was injured. Basically I agree that Westbeld is underrated, should be a steal in the draft. She had a fantastic season and got very minimal hype about it.
It can work they just have to be interchangeable thats an advantage they will have with hildago and miles on the floor at the same time the coach will make it work
@@DT_Brown I love that you pointed out Maddy was very good last year because she worked on her body and om her game. I've seen so many people try to say that her and Citron played better with Hannah at the 1 than Miles. If you look at stats, then yes. But the two of them were better versions of themselves this past season than years prior. I'm excited for the finalized versions of Citron and Westbeld this year. And excited to see a sophomore Hidalgo and a returning Miles.
She would be a good fit with the fever if they can get rid of some one their slow pokes :D Fever need young players because of their pace of play with generational play maker CC.
I wouldn't say next draft class will be weaker, cuz i could make the argument next year's draft class will be more pro ready than this year's. Great vid tho
I love Maddy. She is one of my favorite players (on one of my favorite teams) over the last several years. I look forward to seeing her play this year. She isn't bad to look at either.😀
Steal of the drat- Diamond Johnson. Can do everything but block shots due to her lack of height but will be a great all around pg plus will go 2nd round or lower.
The same thing ur saying about Maddie y'all said that about pili and look at her not even getting a fair shot its seems like u have to get a pr and marketing agent to get playing time

I called her the female Kevin Love. She did not seem to mind
That’s a great comp
Send her to Indiana!!!
Looking more like Dallas...
westbeld - an athleic big that can run shoot ans plkaymake almost exacty what cailtin clark needs
If Indiana makes the playoffs, they will still be in great position to get her. I hope it happens.
GO IRISH!!!!
Excellent work totally agree with your insightful detailed work
I been screaming about Maddie for a few months , if I’m the fever I’m moving up to get her

I agree with you 100%! ONE exception - PB will not be the #1 pick.
who are you thinking then???
Good. Paige to LA Sparks then. 🤙

100 percent agree
I agree she’s really solid pick. I’d say ceiling Maddy Siegrist if she’s lucky.
Yeah.. it's hard to gauge her ceiling or potential. She doesn't get the ball enough.
ND is very fortunate she never transferred
It always felt like I never saw her take a difficult shot regardless of if it's contested.
She does make the game look easy!
@@maxpower247 She is very smooth just like her running mate Citron.

Hidalgo needs to pass the ball to her or someone.
Hidalgo is not a ballhog... Stop it.
She kind of does. I love her game. It’s like she only trusted Sonia & Maddie and no one else.
Dorka is hella beautiful and so is Maddy
They are I ain’t gonna cap
The french girl or the girl from slovinia
Hanna van ness and Haliey
Raven Johnson

I hate that Pili isn’t getting a fair shot but Maddy is way more mobile than Pili was (and taller). So it will be a lot easier for her to translate
@@maxpower247 furthermore Pili plays for a championship contender. Hard to find minutes there if you aren't more than ready already.
U out ur mind lol paige buckers is
Can y'all stop with the baby this and that
