Yep. And worse, she embarrassed herself. I'm being real when I say I only know who Taurasi is because of Clark. However, I'm assured she is the "GOAT" of the WNBA. And like it or not, if you are recognized as one of the greats or one of the legends of anything, you owe that game or that league or that field respect for elevating you to that status. You are an ambassador of the game or field. And as such, you need to be humble to begin with. Look at Wayne Gretzky. For those of us hockey fans, we know damn well why he is known as The Great One. Why 99 is retired as a player number. The man was on another plane of existence with his rink IQ. Compared to his peers, he was actually small and kinda reidy (I say that while being virtually the same size as him at 6'1" and 180 lbs, but I was a mediocre high school player, and he is a living legend, so no disrespect to the Great One). Yet whenever he is asked about today's players, he always celebrates their game, he roots for his own records to be beaten, he is a model of the true sportsman and gentleman. It's not only his game that makes him the Great One. It's who he is on and off the ice. With Taurasi, the *bitterness* towards an aspiring rookie talent is nothing short of disgraceful. Trying to degrade Clark's skill, dismissing her achievements, and outright being petty and spiteful towards the new talent who is electrifying a life support league, Taurasi herself allegedly wants to build up into a respectable game. But with her behavior towards Clark, her naked envy and resentfulness is so blatant and grotesque, and coming from someone who is supposedly a "great," only further tarnishes the WNBA's already unfortunate reputation. With the way the league is acting, it becomes harder and harder to justify the expense to the NBA, and I think it's pretty obvious that if it wasn't the only women's pro basketball league, it would have folded long ago. But I think as someone who has been an athlete all throughout school, and is still athletic and fit at 40, the WNBA needs a wake-up call. Because this season, and in some other well-publicized instances in prior seasons, they are not setting a good example for young female athletes. They are not being sportswoman by demonstrating the basic tenets of good sportsmanship. Instead they are sadly acting out all the worst feminine stereotypes in a way that embarasses my women friends. No matter what you're doing, be it sport or career in any field... being an honorable person who can follow, lead, and inspire is what sports are meant to teach. And sadly, the WNBA is failing across the board. I hope they learn to do better.

And basketball fan which I would go to celtics games, and play at court with roommates. Love all the Massachusetts sports teams. Love CC’s character, and I honestly can understand the hate she gets. LMAO! Yeah, the WNBA should be praising Clark for raising revenue and getting people excited about the sport!!!! This is a good thing for women's basketball..
I lived there for 20 years. Went to about 5-6 games. I used to so love and respect Diana. Not anymore. What she said before the draft was uncalled for. Glad CC and the Fever took all 3 games from the Mercury. Just wish I could have been there.
Yep! Only 35 made in 27 year history of WNBA. There have been over 7,500 double doubles, which is what Reese is so proud of. They should no count, when you kiss a shot, and get your own rebound. It is so easy to pay your stats like that( making 3 attempts from 2' away) yep, you get 2 rebounds on your stats for being a piss poor shooter. I guess her mom coached her into that, because that is the only record she will ever set, as an individual.
If you knew any thing about the WNBA, Diana plays for Phoenix not the Chicago SKY, WHO WAS THE HOME TEAM. Diana did not play in the sold out game. Henry, stick to watching pickle ball!
@@vincentlipari3193 sober up and try making sense. Henry didn't mention the Chicago Sky or pickleball: you did. Taurasi has played in phx 20+ seasons where it finally sold out due to CC. Simple
what makes clark likable is that she doesn't talk shit publicly. Every one else in the league is talking mad shit about her, but she just keeps moving forward.
Diana said she won 3 national championships but Caitlin broke the all time scoring record. As a man, if i was in that position, i would definitely put on the younger talent and let them take the baton from me in real time. I would accept it and applaud it.
They say men have the ego, but i guess men were the one with the power to have ego. Now women are in power, and they have the exact same ego, but even more sassy with it. Of course not all men and all women but this is still fascinating.
Let’s not beat around the bush. Although it’s predominantly female hate, I break it down into two categories of why CC is getting so much hate from the majority of the WNBA. She’s white. She’s straight. And those two facts will make the majority of the WNBA resent and hate her. Downright hilarious, but if the tables were turned, CC would absolutely get crucified in the media.
@@poindextertunes Defensive much? Women don't work in team activities as well as men and this has evolutionary roots and modern social roots. Men compete overtly, while women compete covertly. This is why women who hate each other will still act nice face to face - men typically don't do that and will avoid one another, or fight and then it's over. There's this myth that will never die about a female lead world being more peaceful - and yet today we have more women in leadership positions than ever before and look at the state of the world? Let’s be honest, the lack of respect towards her, and the mistreatment of her - both on and Off the court - is because Caitlin Clark is “white”. Which, incidentally, makes her a “person of color”. But the racists, including the racist “progressive” Marxists don’t acknowledge Caucasians’ existence, treat them as though they’re invisible, and wish they would disappear. Sorry, don’t mean to bring anybody down. Nor do you have to be. .
Same here! Never heard her DT's name before. Then again, I don't even watch basketball. It's not my game, but how can you not know about CC? What an amazing young woman. I give her immense props for being a true pro and having amazing skill. May her career be long and great.
The entire WNBA has disgusted me. A star comes in and makes it more financially viable, and the entire league hates her because they're all jealous. Unbelievable.
Extremely well done video muh man! Very satisdying for us CC fans. Im surprised you didnt include DTs quote about reality coming because there are grown ass women in this league, as opposed to the 18 year old amateurs Clark was used to playing. Could you do a video delving into how lottle DT played in the Olympics and how ironic that was, making the snub of Clark that'much more preppsterous.
She was not only humbled, but reality came to Diana Taurasi. The attendance of 17,071 is the largest crowd in Phoenix since 1997 and it happened against Caitlin Clark where more fans were wearing Caitlin Clark's #22 Iowa and Indiana shirts than DT's # 3 Mercury attire. And the atmosphere inside that building was like an Indiana Fever home game and Caitlin Clark got a standing ovation after the game and stayed before and after the game to sign autographs to fans who helped fill the building in what is the largest crowd to see a Phoenix Mercury home game in the Diana Taurasi era which began in 2004.
Of all people, the US bails her out of Russia while there are many other US citizens who have been jailed for years with no hope of ever getting out. 👎
My family and I watched Aliyah Boston, when she played with the South Carolina Gamecocks, she is very talented. We were very excited when Caitlin Clark joined the Fever. Both are powerful players!
That’s what I love about CC. She takes the highroad and stays humble and she lets her game speak for itself. Congratulations on your triple double.!🎉🎉🎉
I’ve watched 2 WNBA games in my life in 2024. Both because of CC. It took me 20 years to see DT play 1 game. And learned, through, this video that she won 3 national championships. Good job, DT for your contribution to a failing league that is subsidized by the NBA, that virtually never filled an arena, rare jersey sales and virtually had not national TV audience. CC came to league, got you private planes, filled your arenas and her jersey is sold out in Cali. And she got a ball and shoe deal from jump. Who’s the GOAT?
They should be rolling out the red carpet for Caitlin Clark. They should be so appreciative of the positive attention that she has brought to the league. A rising tide raises all ships. Caitlin is the catalyst for that tide rising.
First time I'd heard of Diana Turasi as well. The obvious reason I've heard of Griner. Sheryl Swoopes name I remember from the inception of the league.
Diane Good for you It shows maturity and wisdom to acknowledge a fellow athlete and their skills keep that up and watch less and less get in your way ... Sometimes We can be Our Own Worst Enemies!
I'm a Taurasi fan. Watched her at Don Lugo HS in Chino, CA. But when she says "...after I won three national championships..." that's a problem. It's a team game. She should know that better than anyone. Sad that CC broke her like this.
Not sad, gotta love the proud being humbled, that's truly the work of the Almighty, who resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble, read about it in God's holy word, the Bible.
CC didn't break her. She's always been self-centered. She should be thanking Caitlyn Clark for bringing the attention to the game that Taurasi couldn't do in 20 years.
I stopped watching basketball when Larry Bird retired in 1983, & never watched the WNBA, but Caitlin Clark has made me a huge fan again!!! I know there is comparisons with Steph Curry's game, but she actually reminds me of a young Larry Bird 😊
Nah, plenty knew. To your point, it is great to see Clark leading the charge on increased WNBA interest. But, without Taurasi, Bird and others, there wouldn't be Caitlyn Clark. Clark acknowledges this.
Definitely, she's making the wnba popular. I never heard of any of the others over the last decades. I did hear about Brittney, the dude who was arrested in Russia exporting cannabis.
I love sports, but I’m not delusional. I’ve never gone or wanted to see a WNBA game. I’ve even been offered front row tickets during the playoffs. I passed and went to get a donut. I will pay to sit in nose bleeds to see CC…. The real goat.
I wish Clarke stays strong and doesn't let all the jealousy get in her head. It's because of how they're acting towards CC that people don't want to watch them play. It's not just the game it's the people who play that the people connect to.
When you give credit where credit is earned that’s when you get respect. Well played Diane ❤ your words warm hearts and this is exactly how basketball should be viewed in the eyes of others.
If you watch Caitlin play and all you have to say is “all she does is 3’s” then you are not paying attention. That girl is John Stockton with the dishes, when her teammates catch up they are going to be a formidable force
Exactly. She just needs someone willing to be her Malone, and good things start happening. Boston has started figuring that out, and good things are happening as a result.
Obviously she isn't all 3s. Not made at least at 2.9 3PG and 16.1 PPG. About 3 PPG at the FT line. Which is CRAZY as often as she is supposedly "multi-teamed" and "attacked" with what a casual observer of ridiculous CC would think is dozens of fouls per game.

I had something he wanted and he hated me for it. I did nothing to him.
Idk. It has been her whole life, basically. I can actually understand how Tuarasi feels even though it isn’t fair to Clark. It’s got to be hard knowing that you gave everything you had for the sport for 20 years and now a newcomer is instantly more successful, famous, expanding the sport. I think anyone would feel some resentment. The problem is that a lot of other voices are feeding into that, and justifying the poor treatment of Clark. It’s too bad Tuarasi is struggling to find a positive perspective. She inspired Caitlin, and that means whatever Caitlin does for the sport is in part because of the influence she had on her as a child just by being a great women’s basketball player. That would be a positive outlook, but that’s not always easy when everything is changing around you. Being petty is often easier than being mature. Hopefully it gets better for both of them, and the sport. They would be unstoppable together as ambassadors for the sport. The elder stateswoman and the most popular rookie in history.

Biggest case of Sour Grapes ever from Taurasi. She shows absolutely no class at all in being jealous, being butthurt by Clark's talent and the attention she's getting. Would not surprise me if it was Taurasi that kept Clark out of the Olympic Team. How do you NOT select someone who has changed the landscape of the WNBA and is a walking, breathing hoop machine that can change the course of a game in seconds ? Taurasi has showed a real ugly side here that you just can't forget, it's definitely damaged her image. What a dissapointing example for young girls Taurasi is.

Someone should ask Diana Taurasi if Caitlin had played on her UCONN team, would Clark also have won 3 championships (maybe 4)? And vice versa - if Taurasi had played on Clark's Iowa team, would she alone have carried that team into 2 finals games? Could Taurasi have set the national collegiate scoring record of all time while at Iowa?
She could have but she was a team player. What was the % of shots Caitlin took, almost 60% more then Diana and DIANA % of making those shots was much higher than Caitlin's.
@@vincentlipari3193 I will accept your numbers are correct. But that emphasizes MY point that Taurasi was a member of a much more talented team and she was but one component of those winning years. So back to my original question - If Caitlin had played in UConn back then would she also have been the recipient of 3 championships? I believe YES. Vice versa, if Taurasi were in that Iowa team, would she single-handedly have dragged Iowa into the championship games? I believe NO.

Thats hard even if your from Mens NBA only few people can do that
Diana talked smack, and now she's a fool in the public eyes.
You girls and your jealousy is one of the reasons the WNBA finds a tough time growing professionally. NBA pays for this league to stay alive so we need players like Clark to excite the new generation of women’s basketball players.
put more men in WNBA and even more will follow it.
Even more embarrassing it’s a tax write off so they’re always going to get the money from the men they berate
She's doing to the WNBA what Bird helped do to the NBA
does anyone think Griner was born a female? just askin for a friend.
Clark has exposed the WNBA as being terrible basketball. I had no idea.
Really, you just realized women's basketball was terrible?
So when duhrossi saw the crowd she said THEY LOVE ME !!!!😂😂
The Rookies in the WNBA are putting on the map women's basketball like no other players in the history of the league. What is remarkable is not only is Caitlin Clark an incredible player but she is a true professional in the way she handles herself.
The other rookies aren't selling out stadiums. Only CC is changing anything, and when she's gone...well the wnba best get smarter than they have been.
Don't try to lump Angel Reese in with Caitlin Clark. Don't.
Once the heat from this narrative dies down, attendance will fall back to empty arenas.
@@powerface71 I disagree. CC will sell out every venue she plays. Once she is gone or injured, things will return to normal. It's not that the wnba has new fans...CC has the fans and they will follow her like a swifty to an after concert party.
@@powerface71 I disagree. The wnba doesn't have new fans, CC does, and she will sell out the venues. Her fans will follow her around like a swifty going to an after-concert party. If CC gets hurt or isn't playing, then things will go back to normal, and again, nobody will care about the wnba. At least that's what I think.
This is was you call a 100% hater. Jealously is an ugly thing
Caitlin Clark is a phenomenal athlete and a fantastic role model. Her talent and skill are undeniable, and she's a joy to watch on the court. It's great that we're recognizing and appreciating her abilities. The WNBA has many talented players, and Caitlin Clark is definitely one of the rising stars. I hope more people will tune in to watch her and her fellow players showcase their skills.
I
have never watched WNBA or cared about it until now, thanks to CC and how humble a person she became
I never thought I’d be watching a WNBA vid but here we are 😂
Same
I've got no idea how I ended up here but if this is how good it gets....I ain't coming back. CC dropped that girl on the floor yet her attempt didn't even hit the rim. That's akin to taking a shot on goal in football and the ball going out for a throw in.
@@TheRealPureBloodterrible analogy. don’t let the door hit you
Taurasi has let her jealousy completely destroy any legacy she might have had
She better be careful or she will regret it.
EXACTLY!!!
What jealousy? What are you even talking about? Did I miss something? Or is this all about the one comment she made while Clark was in college? Which wasn’t insulting in any way whatsoever.
@@marioargiropoulos7555were you not watching the video
Clark has really raised the bar for defining excellence in women’s basketball. No longer can players just assume they’re the best player simply because they’re black or lesbian or manly.
With Clark’s expertise on display NOW the women of the WNBA actually have to perform at her level to be taken seriously. Bragging, insults, threats, and excuses cannot cover the lack-luster performance of LAST year’s GOAT in the WNBA.
Now there’s a REAL basketball player in the league.
How she has no no Championships in college or in the WNBA how did she raise the the bar when there's other ladies that are winning MVPs and have already achieved college championships and player of the year as well this fan favorite BSL pulling is the same thing I do in politics and all kinds of s***
@@lifexscape3195 Would Paul McCartney alone, John Lennon alone, George Harrison alone, or Ringo Starr alone have been as famous, as inventive, as creative, or as successful as they were together as The Beatles?
Winning a championship is a team effort and for ONE player to take credit for the team’s championship merely reveals the self-absorption and egotistical delusion some athletes embrace. Scoring is a much more individual accomplishment that a player can take nearly full credit for. A TEAM wins a championship but an individual player shoots that ball from thirty-five feet away and nails it.
@@lifexscape3195 Not every NBA legends won NCAA titles. Tim Duncan, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Scottie Pippen, Dwayne Wade, Derek Fisher... and the list goes on ...
Though she didn't win a championship she did lead her team twice to the finals, broke countless NCAA record, both in the women division AND men's division.
In this short start of her WNBA rookie season, she has already set records, including the first ever triple double as a rookie. Considering there has only ever been 37 triple doubles in the history of the WNBA, it is indeed raising the bar. From now on, every WNBA "rookie star" will have to get a triple double in her rookie year to prove their greatness.
That is indeed raising the bar.
Most of the players do not play up to a pro level. The league stinks--bad coaches, bad strategies, etc. Clark should leave this league for another.
@@lifexscape3195 Yes, that's correct. They win the MVP before the tournament starts. How is that?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She's like a hummingbird flying against pigeons , buzzards, seagulls.
The worse her peers treat her the more popular she gets. Didn't Taurasi brag about kissing straight players to get in their head?
Not only that. She C.C. told her coach that "They've created a monster"... basically the Mamba "Switch has been flipped" in Clarks head. She's on that "Jordan/Kobe" ISH now!!!
Watch out league. Especially MY team the Vegas Aces !!!
I am a new WNBA fan from the 🇵🇭. I have never watched WNBA games. I don't know any WNBA superstar. I am not familiar with any WNBA player either. I only began to watch WNBA games recently bcoz of Caitlyn Clark. I found out Caitlyn Clark only early this year in her last playing days in WNCAA with Iowa. Started following her since then and now that she's already in the WNBA wth the Indiana Fever.
LOVE THE WAY SHE JUST GETS ON WITH THE GAME --- NO STUPID LONG CELEBRATIONS ON EVERY POINT.
Caitlin clark gives you no reason not to love her what a special lady with the largest fan club god bless her
Newsflash ladies!: Clark is the one filling those stadiums. You can thank her anytime when you're on that private jet, instead of the Greyhound bus. 😆😆😆😆
I would say they do recognize.
L mentality by Diana considering no one knows any notable wnba figures BEFORE Caitlin came onto the scene
Yeah before her most people could only name Griner and that's because she was arrested in Russia not for anything on the court.
Have you watched the last 4 Olympic games sir, you must be living on another planet. The whole world knows this players!
@@MakerInMotion ye i knew griner because she challenged demarcus but catlin is the reason i know more wnba players
You're delusional to a severe extreme. Just because you never had a reason to watch doesn't mean others had no reason to watch. I've been a fan of the W since 1996-1997. There are many notable stars that have come and gone. You better pay homage to Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, Dawn Staley, Teresa Weatherspoon, Lisa Leslie, Sue Bird, Rebecca Lobo, Maya Moore, Saudia Roundtree, Simone Augustus, and many others.
We all know why many people are fascinated with Caitlin Clark and brands smell money.
Miya Moore (I think I spelled that wrong tho).
She was the GOAT in women's bball, but I forsee C.C. taking over that role of GOAT very soon, she's a beast.
So she did not have to work as much for that UConn team to win.
Conversely, Caitlin's Iowa team is not as talented as UConn's so she bore a greater load to CARRY her team into the play-offs.
So back to my original question - If Caitlin had played in UConn back then would she also have been the recipient of 3 championships? I believe YES. Vice versa, if Taurasi were in that Iowa team, would she single-handedly have dragged Iowa into the championship games? I believe NO.
Taurasi also benefited from having one of the all-time great head coaches, not only coaching her up, but also coaching-up all of the teammates around her.
@@vincentlipari3193 This is proving the point the original poster was making. DT never had to carry even close to as hard while winning those championships.
@@vincentlipari3193its wild to me that someone would hate on a young woman they don’t even know 😂
I'm going to be honest some moments I had tears in my eyes and I already watched like six videos on this girl... I had no clue about any of these WNBA players except for the Griner chick/dude for being in prison in Russia... I have nothing but respect for this girl Caitlin Clark she's really an amazing basketball player and person and she just talks all her s*** on the court!!!! Big fan
Did she say "the largest crowd since 1997?"😂😂😂😂CC is a goat .I love her all the way from South Africa ❤
"After I won." The hubris of Taurasi on full display. A true team player knows there's no "I" in "team."
Taurasie played with U Conn in college, take her off the roster U Conn could have conceivably still won. Take CC of her college team and they would never stand a chance.
@@jsholmes03Yep. Take CC off Iowa and they’re a bubble team, maybe slightly better.
Caitlyn felt so bad for embarrassing that girl she airballed her shot🤭
And Yes 17,000 seen tht😂
She was surprised to see the best the wnba had to offer was flopping around on the ground in front of her. She took the shot without looking haha her attention was on the flopper.
She’s today’s Larry Bird; not because of her race, but because of her skill.
Diana Taurasi honestly comes across like a bad person. Emotionally unstable, hate-filled and tries to make everything about herself.
Caitlin Clark is the polar opposite. Very polite and humble. Never talking badly about other players or attacking people on the courts. Just a great, all-around professional.
Cousins would blank griner if they played right now forget his prime 😂
"Sorry, little man." - Barry White Griner
I can't stand Griner. I don't know, I've just never liked him.

Hahahahahaha
Last time I watched the WNBA was at the very beginning and was a fan of Starbird.
Haven't watched it since her.
Now I'm back into it because of Caitlin Clark.
What a talent Caitlin is! She is to the WNBA what Magic and Larry Bird were to the NBA. Amazing talent, great athlete, humble, a champion, and a class act . Pity the petty jealousy displayed by these whiny mean girls who love being subsidized by the NBA and fly on Spirit airlines.
