- We look at the top five small forwards, power forwards and centers in the 2025 WNBA draft. Then we go through the top 12 overall best players in the opinion of Back 2 Sports.
Griffin is my Harlem Globe Trotter. So incredibly athletic and gifted.
Lucy Olsen Iowa Hawkeye will surprise many this coming season. 3rd Leading scorer last year behind Ju Ju Watkins and Caitlin Clark.
seeing Aubrey griffin in here is so beautiful shes so talented and I pray no injuries this szn for her
I would suggest you rewatch Feagin for SC in the tournament her per 40 minute numbers are strong especially. Some of the other players don’t play tough competition. Her size and athleticism along with mid range shot and post moves are nice. Playing time will increase this year. Key player practicing against the freshies and Cardoso . Don’t make the same mistake as last year. She is just waiting her turn. Check her numbers 😅 2021 recruiting cycle 4th best in the country 😮
She picked up in 2nd half season. No doubt.
Saniya Feagin at USC the original, can play with increased time she will impress
Sania Feagin definitely can be drafted I think ppl put too much emphasis on scoring but their teams aren’t that good. Feagin will be coming from a winning program and having practiced against WNBA players daily over her SC career like Aliyah Boston, Kamilla Cardoso, and Laeticia Amihere will only help her transition to the pros. I think she will start and have a HUGE year for SC! Idk why she’s so slept on but y’all will find out soon.
Yep TBH I forgot about Feagin
@@back2sports not your fault! I feel like she still has to make a name for herself outside of SC but I believe she will in 2024-25!!!
So who starts for the Gamecocks ?
@@michaelsholler857 I go Watkins, Kitts, hall, T P P , and R Johnson but think fegan, Tessa , mylasia will push hard
@@back2sports Agreed...
Grateful you included Markowski! Super underrated.
Did not know about her. Like her game.
Nice take. Appreciate your hard work and research.
Thanks - this video too long!
Breezy Hall is the best guard in the upcoming draft. The team that bypasses her will regret it. She is a true 2-way player. She seems to play bigger than the reported 6 ft.
Yep fair call that have Bree hall too low. By end of year she might be number 1 guard behind PB
Thank you for adding Aubrey! These other mock drafts have been pissing me off leaving her off😭. Her athleticism and speed in transition alone could be used by wnba right now.
omg literally
I think Sarah Ashlee Barker from Alabama will be a sleeper in the draft, she's improved tremendously from sophomore to Junior
B2S excellent review loved its thoroughness. I would have Maddy Westfield as the #1 prospect bc she is so dam efficient scoring at all three levels. She is my ideal WNBA PF and should really prosper in that league too. Not much from me on Centers. I agree with you on the SF too. I’m rooting for Griffin to do well in the W. It will depend on her health. I think Maddy Westfield will end up going in the top 5 and this is coming from a huge UCONN fan. I suspect Olivia Myles will stay another yr at ND
Thanks calvin
@@back2sportsYou are always welcomed. Btw when I said Maddy Westfield is the #1 prospect I meant that she is best player among PF’s. Every time I watch ND play I always find myself wondering how is that Citron is not a UCONN player
PaoPao will be top 5, Raven not coming out and Big Shot Bree more clutch, shoots better, and plays just as good of defense as Aubrey Griffin
Fair call on Bree hall . I don't think Paopao will be top5. More late 1st rd
@@back2sports other than Paige, who is head and shoulders better than PaoPao at the guard/off guard position?
Pao Pao is not going Top 5 😂
@@VecksJanae Thank you for enlightening us 🥲
Raven is absolutely coming out if she's healthy. Everyone who follows SC WBB knows this will be Maylasia Fulwiley"s team in 25/26. With Fulwiley, Tessa J & Maddy Mc waiting, Raven is going pro
Feagin played excellent during the five games that Cardoso was out playing for Brazil. She will either start this year or be the first forward off the bench playing 20-25 minutes per game. Tell me what you think!
I left her off as I forgot. Agree she is one to watch this year.
I want Olivia Miles here in Chicago In 2025
Maybe with the Conn pick? SG with our first pick?
That’s not a good fit for her
Miles/ Carter/Reese/Cardoso the spacing would be horrible none of these 4 are decent 3 points shooter
@@michaellejean-baptiste2631Carter can shoot decent. She not a spot up though
Might be a little early for this video, but it could be fun: Would be interested in, with how the WNBA Standings stand at the Olympic Break, what players do you see going to which team? Considering traded draft picks, team needs, etc... Would be interested in how that might affect this top 12 list.
Yep way too early for this video but was educational for me to get head around players as well good feedback from commentators about who I might not have on radar.
Paige Bueckers , if she comes out, hands down , the best of the best , would love to see her go to the Sky.
LA Sparks would love Page
Indiana Fever should pick up Lucy Olsen.
I keep seeing Janiah Barker in mock drafts, but as far as I can tell she is only a junior. At 22, she'll be old enough to enter the draft, but it is very rare for players to declare after their junior season.
before she even started her freshman year she said publicly that she plans to enter the draft after her junior year. things could have changed since then though so idk
@@survivorswapped7637 I haven't seen that anywhere, but it would certainly explain why so many people think Barker is coming out. Thanks.
Watkins from SC is in the same position she could come out if she continues to improve now that Cardoso is in the W.
A healthy Olivia Myles outside of the top 10 ... can't see it
Right? Olivia is the second best PG in this draft, if she declares
Worry about her shot.
How is B2S feeling abt Marina Mayberry being trade to the CT Sun in exchange for Mo Jefferson and Rachel Banham and CT’s 2025 first and second picks along with the right to swap picks in 2026.
I hope Fever would draft Malonga to form the super 4 of CC, AB, Kelsey and Malonga and fill the remaining 8 players with all available 3 and D wing players
I don't think she's going to be there at 6 or 7, but that would be awesome
I would rather have the Fever trade up a spot or two and pick Sonia Citron. Clark Mitchell and Citron would be an insane three guard rotation, and she could also take some minutes at backup SF, as she's pretty tall for a guard.
@@patricklarson7564 i would offer a semi max or $200k for Charlton (lynx) and Maddy (wings)
appreciate your shoutouts re Malonga and Sivka, both are top talents. but keep in mind that the W shies away from giving 1st rd picks to teenagers; they tend to go in later rounds, with the assumption that they'll need further development. meanwhile, how about doiing a segment on the foreign players we'd like to see in the W. starting with the return of Emma Meesseman!!; and: Conde, Carrera (Liberty have rights), Torrens, Iagupova, Mavunga, Lundquist, Han Xu! (do Liberty retain rights?); Alexis Peterson, Tess Magden. and what's happening with some of the young players who were already drafted: Borlase, Lacan, Leite, Puoch? Hirsch, Swain, Alarcon?
here are two young names to know about and keep one's eye on: Iyana Carrion and Juste Jocyte.
meanwhile, any discussion of foreign players and the W should list the impediments to signing them, including the prioritization rule, poor financial incentive, national team commitments, scheduling (desire to rest in the summer), role adjustments, different style of play, brief training camps.
U are probably right. I over hyped her. TBD
Personally i think Sedona was ranked kind of high. She still struggles with staying healthy and she really hadn't played any other dominant posts with size this past season either. Too many questions marks at this time.
As for the Draft list, i think we're underestimating point guard needs. I feel like over half the league is in desperate need of a point guard or backup point guard right now.
Sedona would not be at tcu if she were going to be great in the wnba.
I don’t buy into Ayoka Lee either.
Overall that centres were weak. I struggled to come up with top 5 . Forgot about SF
Any thoughts on Hailey Van Lith? This draft class is so talented and after her season at LSU I wonder if she'll even be selected.
Defence not the best. And a bit small for off guard in WNBA. IMO
Yes, no one out hustle her,one bad game doesn't define her, as a LSU fan she can play in the league, 3×3 will help.
fantasy WNBA 3-point contest: Clark; Ionescu; McBride; Plum; Mabrey; Ogunbowale. plus:Quigley - bring her back for this!
and since it's fantasy, let's include Taylor Robertson (great 3-point shooter, she went undrafted 2023 because the W lacks roster spots to include 3-point specialists).
and: Kate Mager. look her up. great 3-point shooter, retired from basketball a year or two ago,, bring her back for this!
Like Sellers, Sundell is a tall point guard.
Yep
Give you crap for Griffin?? No way...A freakishly good athlete...great defender....yes needs to work on the 3 and mid range but killer when attacking the hoop...one of my favorite D1 players...well...her and PB..
thoughts on Lucy Olsen from villanova-Iowa?
oh, i think she's a junior not senior this year?
She’s a senior
Yeah forgot about her lol she's really good
Thought about it but - 5'9 shot 43% from floor & 29% from 3pt range . So no
playing at Iowa will put Lucy Olsen in top f😅ve
Who will go in the Seattle
storm ?
Bree Hall is good 💯
Yes she is. That is my regret. Left her off. Should have had her and Griffin as a tie for 12th and depend on how season goes.
Paige Buckets will be number one pick. Close to 100% chance
I watched UConn quite a bit last year; shouldn't Bueckers be listed with the PFs? 😉
She played there out of necessity due to a roster shortage and played well but was undersized on many an occasion. At 6' she isn't going to be playing there in the NBA.
Phillipina Kyei from Oregon 6'8
Who would you see the Fever getting if there like at 6 or 7 in the draft to go with Clark
A good power fwd in my opinion. I would think Barker - maybe.
They're gonna try their best to get raven johnson . We all know why the fever wants raven ..
I like Rivers, they need her defense. She is long and fast, outstanding on all three levels. She’s a playmaker who can back up CC. She can rim run and finish.
how come you don't have any South Carolina players in your top 12
Probably should have had Bree hall higher
What about Lucy Olsen Iowa pg
@11:08 that's a picture of Cayla King (#22), not Matilda Ekh (#11). Otherwise, I appreciate your analysis!
Was on fumes by end of the video. I should never go over 8 min as the editing kills me
B2S I have a peculiar subject for you. Here we go: name the top ten or twelve WNBA players who have improved most significantly over the last three seasons
Off the top of my head Chennedy carter, Sophie Cunningham, mabrey, N collier , KFC, Alana smith, D hamby, jackie.young, Ezie Mangnanor, Maddy siegrest
Olivia Miles is the best pure point guard in the draft
who was your favorite player that was drafted?
Rickea Jackson
Do you think Paopao or Johnson would be better for Chicago?
Raven is better at the point, the Sky needs a distributor for the 4 and 5...
@@12current appreciate ya
@@12current would she be there at 5/6 likely?
I am a UConn fan. I am hoping we can get four players drafted. Aubrey, Paige, Azzi, and Chen.
I can’t put Azzi on a list like this until I see her play the entire season injury free. And then she still isn’t a lottery pick for me.
Paige should be the number one pick without question.
Aubrey and Chen can be second or third round picks.
UConn fan here too. My issue with Azzi is that I don't see any dog in her. When her shot is on, nobody is better shooting wise. But I keep going back to the Indiana game a couple years ago in the tourney. She came up small. Really small. Looked scared of the moment.
Azzi has shrunk in big games so far in her career
@@TheDisruptiveOne I wish that I could disagree with you...But I can't.
big uconn fan and I totally agree I also need azzi to have an amazing injury free szn or she might just have to stay with I think she should stay
Azzi isn’t going to declare. She’ll be in the 2026 draft
Azzi will stay one more year and she will be top 3 pick in 2026
For centers where is Reagan Beers 😳 She almost got us (USC) in the quarters.
She is a jr
Where are you getting these pronunciations?
Don't do that. If u don't like them don't watch
Indiana need Tall center..
ohio state player coatie mcmahon in first round
You left Sania Faegan off
I knew I was forgetting some one
Also, it’s pronounces “juj-nigh-uh” barker. Not Gianna lol
Thanks
@@back2sportsbut I love your content. Promise I wasn’t being a troll! Keep it coming!
No way Aneesah Morrow wasn’t on this list. She’s number two in the mock draft
She was on list
way off on top forwards, Janiah Barker wilts against tough competition unlike 6'3" Sania Feagin is 3 level scorer for SC. You are usually hating on South Carolina so it's not off base for your vid. Center will be weak draft class except France girl. Your channel is UConn biased.
TBH forgot about Feagin. She should have been on it. Was on fumes by the time I got centers. Not happy with that list. In terms of hate. I don't hate anyone but everyone hates me! Which is fine.
Ya’ll call him UConn biased but still watching
@@VecksJanae haters get views too
Perez Jason Thompson Charles Hall Helen
Wouldn't it be "hilarious" if Paige Bueckers was drafted by the Chicago Sky and she had to play with Angel Reese?!?!? Another white girl that is 10x better than Angel. What a locker room that would be.😂😂😂
Caitlin, a I player not a we player!!!!
Come - dude Fudd is NOT in the draft
who knows ? not me but if she is healthy and has a good year then she is eligible to enter the 2025 draft
@@back2sports I think he is saying she isn't worthy of being in the draft. I can't argue that she hasn't really been on the floor enough to give the scouts a large enough body of work to know what they will get. We are largely judging her on her amazing high school career. You are right this is the year she has to be healthy and show us that talent that everyone is expecting.
They not taking Breezy Hall before Azzi Fudd 😂if Fudd comes out
exactly Jazzi is way to tuff but I also think shes gonna stay a 5th year cs them injuries are tuff hopefully she has a phenomenal szn tho
Aubrey griffin for ny money🎉🎉🎉
